Chapter 305
âUnless what?â Theodore asked.
âTheodore, tell me honestly. Do you want to save me?â Cynthia asked.
âOf course I do! Cindy, I only hope for your good health. Iâll do everything in my power to help you.â
He genuinely wanted to save her.
âThen why canât you find a heart?â
Cynthia thought about what the unknown man had said today. The chances were too slim, and she was terrified of dying. She didnât want to perish alongside Rosalieâshe wanted to live well, to send Rosalie to hell, and to live happily after with Theodore.
She wanted those wretches to not be able to rest, even in death.
âHearts are the scarcest and hardest to match in the transplant database. Why do we have wait?â Cynthia said anxiously. âYou can look elsewhere!â
Theodore frowned. âWhat do you mean?â
âTheo, arenât there some underground businesses?â Cynthiaâs eyes. were filled with anxiety and expectation at the same time. âSince certain items can be traded on the black market, then hearts can too!
It wonât be hard for you to find me a matching heart!â
If this man loved her, he would risk everything to help her. He had plenty of money, soâfinding some âprofessionalsâ to get her a heart shouldnât be difficult, right?
Theodore stared at Cynthia for a long time in silence.
When he first heard her say these words, he thought he had

misunderstood. Yet after seeing her expression, he realized he hadnât. He knew exactly what she wanted.
âCindy, you should rest. I have some matters to attend to, so Iâll be leaving now.â
His injuries hadnât fully healed yet, and his back ached. He had rushed to the hospital today and accidentally bumped into something, only to hear Cynthia say such shocking things.
Seeing Theodoreâs reaction, Cynthia panicked. âTheo, what do you mean? Are you not going to help me find a heart?â
âI didnât say that. Before finding a suitable heart, youâll need the best medical resources to maintain your health. You wonât be in immediate danger as long as you stay in good spirits.â
After tucking her in, Theodore turned to leave.
âTheo.â Cynthia grabbed his wrist, and asked suspiciously, âWhy do I feel like youâre unwilling?â
âUnwilling to do what?â Theodore asked coldly. âUnwilling to help you find a heart? Didnât I say Iâve been searching all along?â
âBut we havenât found one yet until now!â Cynthia seemed unaware that she was hitting a nerve.
âTheo, you know the longer this drags on, the worse it is for me! Have you never thought of using other methods to help me?â
She didnât want to die. Anyone could die, but not her!
âWhat methods are you talking about? Do you want me to find ruthless criminals to buy a heart? A heart from someone they kidnapped, knocked out, stuffed into a car, taken to a dreadful black room, emptied, and then disposed of? Is that the kind of heart you mean?â

Cynthia trembled in fear, panicking. âTheo, thatâs not what I meantâ¦â
âThen what do you mean?â Theodore retorted.
âI mean⦠There might be suitable hearts on the black market. Those hearts might not be from victims, but from people who sold them willingly.â
âWillingly?â
Theodore suddenly laughed, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
âWho would willingly sell their heart to organ traffickers? Do you think theyâd take the money and buy themselves a coffin?â
Theodore was somewhat angry. Although he didnât show it too much, his eyes held a fire that seemed ready explode.
How could Cindy say such stupid things?
