Chapter 286
Wife
Chapter 286
âDonât be scared,â Theodore said, holding her hand.
Iâll help your chase those bad guys away.â
Rosalie burst out laughing. âWhat if youâre the bad guy?â
Theodoreâs face stiffened. âDo you mean to tell me that I was the bad guy who chased you in your nightmare?â
Rosalie, wanting to tease him, nodded. âYes. You were chasing after me with a knife, wanting to kill me. I was so frightened.â
Theodoreâs face turned cold, and he stood up. âLooks like I didnât chase you hard enough. I wouldâve chopped you to pieces straight away.
It was bad enough she had a nightmare. To think she even dreamt of him as a bad guy who wanted to kill her! How terrible was he in her eyes?
Then, he was reminded of how she thought he would throw her down the stairs last time.
Ridiculous!
He didnât dare to continue thinking about how tarnished his image
was in her eyes.
Perhaps her impression of him had sunk so lowâbeyond even the deepest valley, deep in the crevices of the earth, close to its core.
Rosalie rubbed her eyes. âAre you angry at me? Itâs just a dream. Why are you being so petty?
âIâ¦â Theodore was annoyed.
âDreams are just filled with nonsense from everywhere,â Rosalie

said. She didnât think much of it.
âWhat one thinks about during the day is what one dreams about at night. You think I want to kill you, so you dreamt that. You thought I wanted to throw you down the stairs last time. Itâs not a stretch for you to dream of that,â Theodore said, clearly upset.
Rosalie forced a smile.
âYeah,â she conceded.
The thought of what happened before made her slightly awkward. However, it didnât change the fact that it was true. Theodoreâs expression at that time was horrifying, and she had indeed been. frightened.
Yet now, it seemed as though Theodore was angry at her line of thought at that time.
Theodore was about to reply to Rosalieâs acknowledgement, but she spoke first.
âIâm hungry. Iâm going to wash up and head down for breakfast.â
âIâm so angry, Iâve lost my appetite,â Theodore said, looking displeased.
He was behaving just like a child, throwing a temper tantrum and waiting for someone to coax him out of it.
Rosalie shook her head helplessly. She pulled the sheets away, and sat on the bedside. Thinking about how she shared the same bed. with Theodore last night left her reeling.
Why were things getting stranger by the minute?
Theodore was just like a child. When he was deep in his dreams last night, he looked just like a helpless, flailing little boy. Her motherly instincts kicked in hard.

She couldnât bring herself to get angry at Theodore when he was like. that. That was especially so since she was a mother now.
âAlright. I understand that you want to be angry at me, but you still have to eat. Iâm hungry right now,â she said.
Theodore turned his face away; upon hearing that she was hungry, hist stance softened, and he glanced at her stomach.
âIs that so? How hungry are you?â
âStarving,â Rosalie said, throwing him a pitiful glance.
âLet me have a touch and see if youâre starving.â
Theodore reached out for her stomach. Rosalieâs heart leapt, and she hurriedly pushed his hand away.
She was already three months pregnant. There was every possibility that he might sense something amiss if he touched her stomach. Although her baby bump was still not obvious, there was a bump. there alright.
Theodore furrowed his brows at her reaction. âWhatâs the matter?â
Rosalie, in a bid to erase his suspicions, said awkwardly, âWeâre already divorced. Donât be so touchy with me.â
âWe shared the same bed last night. Whatâs wrong with me touching your stomach?â
He thought she was acting strange, as if she was hiding something from him.
Rosalie pulled her hand back from her stomach, trying her best not to look suspicious. With a forced smile, she said, âIâm just ticklish.â

Rosalie slid her phone back into her pocket and headed downstairs to the dining hall, where she found Theodore.
Thinking about Sebastian, Rosalie suddenly lost her appetite. Still, she sat down at the table anyway.
Breakfast was a sumptuous spread
âWhy is there so much food?â she asked.
âDidnât you say that youâre hungry? Eat more,â Theodore said, serving her some eggs.
âIâll just have some oats.â
