1 week later

"What?" I ask, smiling. I'm getting into bed and he's lying down staring at me.

He just smirks and doesn't respond so I ask again, "What, baby?" He's making me feel shy from the way he's looking at me.

I look away and grab my phone because he's being annoying.

"Come here, woman," he grabs me and places me on top of him.

I lean down to his lips and giggle, "You're so annoying."

"You're quiet today," I say, cupping his face. "Is there something we need to talk about?"

"Yes, but not now," his hands move to my butt and he moves me further down his body so he could sit up.

"Why not now?"

"It's going to ruin the mood."

"Sounds serious, Seb. Are you sure you don't want to talk about it now?"

"I'm sure."

"Alright," I tell him and peck his lips. "Where's your phone?"

"In the nightstand, why?"

"Off?"

"Mhm."

"Good," I place mine on the nightstand as well.

"What are you up to?" he asks suspiciously.

"Well, we've been arguing quite a bit recently and we've both been busy so, I thought we could catch up and understand where each other's heads are at. No phones, no distractions. Just us."

"I like that."

"I'll start then. I've thought about, but ultimately decided not to do something because it would be selfish of me."

"Go on."

"After our initial argument, I still thought a lot about leaving to New York and not telling you but I realized that wouldn't be very wise, considering the current situation and the stress you're under."

"What happened between us that sparked that thought?"

I bite my lip, "I just felt that time apart would be healthier for us."

"Do you still consider doing that?"

"Nope, I just thought I should get that off of my chest. I guess I felt guilty for some reason."

"I wish you would have told me earlier."

"I know and I'm sorry," I take his hand in mine.

"Why did you think we needed time apart? I thought we talked about everything and were on the same page." I can see that he is getting annoyed.

"We are, baby," I reassure him.

"Alright well, is there anything else you've been keeping a secret?" he questions, being petty.

"Baby, stop," I whine.

"Do you?"

"No, Seb."

"Anything you've been feeling that I'm not aware of?"

"It's nothing serious and I'm over it," I brush it off.

"Tell me anyway."

I sigh, "I was annoyed about you having to work so much and us not having enough time together. And I feel like, for the first time in a while, you've been putting work over me."

"You could've told me this Elara," he places his face in his hands.

"Why are you upset?" I ask softly. I really don't want this to be another argument.

"I'm more upset with myself than I am with you."

"You shouldn't be because I understand that we are both very busy people."

"Ok," he lets out a breath. "I will make more changes."

"What's on your mind?"

"You, work, and keeping my family safe," he places his hands on my waist.

"Anything you've been wanting to talk about?"

"Plans for the next year."

"Oh really? What did you have in mind?" I smile.

"I was thinking we should move somewhere outside of America and buy a home together."

"Ok, where?"

"Vancouver."

"Canada?" I ask shocked.

"Yeah. Although we were there for a short time, I fell in love with the city."

"I liked Canada too but I didn't think you would want to move there."

"I love it, baby, and I was thinking about opening something down there too."

"I like that. We should start looking into that soon."

"Mhm," I place my hand on his bare chest.

"Do your tattoos have meaning or are they random?" I look at the few tattoos on his torso. Most of them are on his arms.

"Most are random. I'm surprised you never ask about them."

"Because I forget and most of the time you wear shirts to bed."

"You're right, I should go put one on," he smirks.

"No, stop," I tightly wrap my arms around his bare torso and lay my head on his chest.

"Now I can't see your face, my love."

"That's fine," I look up at him for a second and kiss his chest. "Can I see the hidden tattoos you were telling me about?"

"No," he answers shyly.

"Why?"

"I'll show you eventually, but not now."

"Okay, I'm coming back." I try to move out of his hold and his hands tighten around my waist.

"Where are you going?"

"To get a snack."

"I'm right here," he smirks.

"Cute, but I want donuts."

"There's none," he responds looking guilty.

"Oh my gosh, Seb. I'll find something else then."

"Put on pants first."

"I have on pants," I say as he releases me and I adjust my shorts.

"They're too short," he slaps my butt. "My brother is out there."

"Fine. Where are your sweatpants? I don't feel like looking for mine," I look at the foot of the bed to see them on the floor. I glare at him and place my hand on my waist.

"I'll do the laundry for the next few weeks," he says immediately.

"Seb, I just want you to put your laundry in a basket," I peck his lips. "I'll be back."

I leave the bedroom and walk to the kitchen to find Carson on the phone. He's facing away from me and I quietly enter the pantry.

"I'm really trying but they are completely obsessed with each other. The last one was easier than this," I hear him speak. What the hell? "I'll try something else but if that doesn't work then we can go to our original plan," he continues. What is he on about?

I grab chips and a chocolate bar then contemplated on whether I should get orange juice or not. The orange juice is in the fridge, which is in the main kitchen, and that's where Carson is. I think I'll stay in here until he leaves.

Hmmm, ok maybe not.

I'm hungry, but I don't want to make a sound. After 5 minutes of looking around the pantry, I spot a jar of chocolate chip cookies. Oooo.

Before I can get the jar, a pair of arms wrap around my waist and I immediately jump. Hearing Seb's voice is what calms me.

"Baby, it's me," he kisses my cheek.

"Emilian, don't do that," I punch him on his arm and walk away, rolling my eyes.

"Watch your attitude," he grabs by my hips and pulls me back to him. "I'm sorry, love."

"Go away," I shew him. Opening the fridge, I realize there's no orange juice. Ugh. I also notice that Carson is no longer here.

"Are you looking for your juice?"

"Mhm."

"I bought a few yesterday. Maybe someone drank them."

"Yeah, well there's none," I roll my eyes. I go to the bedroom and he trails behind me. As I place the snacks on the tv stand, I watch as he leans down to lift me into his arms.

"Yes, my love?"

"I have to go to work," he mumbles.

"Okay Mr. 'I'm not working today," I mock him.

"Not for the whole day, baby."

"That's fine," I sigh. "As long as your not coming home after midnight."

"Lips."

"Nope, you upset me."

He smirks, "Please, baby, before I leave."

I peck his lips once and when I try to pull away, he doesn't let me go. He smiles and says, "You can stay upset as long as you want but I love you."

He smothers me with kisses all over my face and neck, causing me to giggle. "Seb," I try to speak.

"Yes, love?" he asks smiling.

"I'm not upset, I just need time alone," I reassure him.

"Thank you for telling me," he kisses my forehead and places me down. "I ordered you lunch for now and donuts for later," he emphasizes later.

"Baby," I whine. "All of this food is going to make me fatter."

"I let you make all of your healthy meals this week, but you deserve a treat."

"I enjoy my healthy meals," I roll my eyes.

"Me too, but I know you also enjoy slightly unhealthy meals," he smirks and I just smile. "I'll be gone for no more than two hours. Call me for whatever."

"So I can call if I just want to see your face?"

"Yup if I can fix my camera."

"Good," I giggle.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

He exits the room and I pull out my laptop to email the caterers and decorators we chose.

There's an unexpected knock on the door and I furrow my eyebrows. Nobody comes here at this time unless it's Dana and she isn't home today.

Opening the door, I see one of the guards I usually see outside with a bottle of orange juice in hand, and it's a brand I've never had.

Huh, I guess haven't tried as much as I thought. "Did Emilian send this?" I question.

The man says nothing and walks off. Ok then.

I am actually thirsty, so I open the bottle and take a huge gulp. Refreshing.

I ring Seb to quickly thank him and he answers smiling. "Miss me?" he asks.

"You wish," I roll my eyes.

"Roll them again," he speaks firmly.

I move the camera further from my face blushing and say, "Anyways, thank you for the orange juice," I show him the bottle.

"What orange juice?"

"The one you sent."

"Baby, I didn't send anything and if I did, it would have been more than one. Did you drink it already?"

"Well, yeah. I had a little," my eyelids begin to feel heavy. Oh no.

"Emilian I need you." The last words spoken before I blackout... again.

"No, no, no, no. Elara! Elara! Answer me, baby." I hang up the phone and call my mom.

"Hi sweethe-," she speaks but I cut her off.

"Momma, where are you?"

"Grocery shopping with Sophia. What's up?" she replies.

"Ok, please spend the night with her. I can't answer questions now. I love you," I hang up and ring Elvira. She is the nearest person to the house that I trust. I'm more than an hour away.

"Home now. And carry as many men as you can."

"It's Elara isn't it?"

I stay silent as I rush out of the building. I don't have time to answer questions.

She understands the silence and responds, "On my way, boss" she hangs up. I run to my car and push the key into the ignition. My mind is all over the place right now. I can't think straight.

I feel like crying but I know I shouldn't.

I feel like killing everyone that I see, but I know I shouldn't.

My fist slams down on the steering wheel in frustration. How? Why? Who?

I feel a buzz in my pocket and I see it's Lucian calling. "What the hell do you want?" I ask in a harsh tone.

"Emmy I'm on my way to the house and you need to be there too."

"I know."

"Then why are you sitting in the car doing nothing," he shouts. "I told Mr. Rossetti to drive you there. Collect yourself and stay calm."

"Luci, how the hell am I supposed to remain calm. This is Elara we're talking about. I don't want to go there and find out something horrible happened to her because of me."

"I know Emmy, but she needs you."

"Now, as your boss. You better be home before I am," he speaks firmly.

I roll my eyes, "Ok, you're pissing me off now. "

"I'm serious Emilian."

I let out a deep breath, "Yes, Sir."

"I love you, bro."

"I love you too," I reply and hang up.

There's a knock on the car window and it's Mr. Rossetti. "Are you ready Sir?"

"Yeah," I sigh and follow him to his car. Hopefully, by the end of the ride, I'd have collected myself and be ready to face whatever is coming.
