I look at both of them and wave awkwardly, then I subtly squeeze Emilian's hand.
"Miss Suave?" His father asks confused.
"What are you doing here?" Carson asks with attitude. Well, excuse me.
"Please correct the way that you speak to my woman. Father, this is my girlfriend Elara and you may remember her because she worked for you."
"Yes, she was my assistant and she's supposed to be yours. Why the hell are you screwing your employees?"
"I think I'm going to help your mom in the kitchen," I tell Emilian, feeling embarrassed because I'm not sure how to respond. This feels like a conversation that should happen between them.
"Do you need me to show you the way?" he asks.
"No, I'll manage."
I walk past his father and brother without saying a word. I'm about to explore around this house because I know damn well I'm not going to find the kitchen.
After I am a good distance from the library, I hear Seb shout, "What the hell was that about?!" Time to walk faster.
As I'm strolling through the hallways, a door that is slightly ajar with sunlight peeking through it catches my eye. This door is a totally different style from anything else in this mansion so far.
Opening the door, I am met with a whole loft that is obviously designed by someone completely different. It's a small and cozy living space.
"Can I help you?" A voice says out of nowhere and I jump.
"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't mean to intrude." My eyes land on a long-legged white woman with red hair.
"No, it's fine. You seem lost and I've never seen you here before. Do you work for my brother?"
"Yes...but no. I'm also his girlfriend."
"Oh, he's told me about you."
"He has. He messages me every night and you come up quite a lot but he's never told me your name or showed me a picture."
"Well, my name is Elara and this is what I look like," I say awkwardly.
She smiles sweetly and says, "You can come in if you want. I know everything out there might be overwhelming." I thought he said his sister was a bit standoffish. She seems so nice.
"Sure," I step in and close the door. "I love how you made this a completely different style; it's so creative. What made you do this?"
"I just wanted to be close to family and also feel like I'm in my own space," she chirps.
"Wow, that's smart and so cute that you still want to be near family. I love my sister but I do not want to live in the same neighborhood as her."
"What about your parents? Are you close to them?"
"Nope."
She goes to speak again but my phone rings and it's Seb.
"Baby are you good? Is my mom getting on your nerves already?"
"I actually decided to explore instead and stumbled upon your sister's room. She's been so welcoming."
"She's being nice to you?"
"Yes," I respond confused.
"Get out."
"Why?"
"Baby, leave! I'm coming now!" he shouts through the phone.
"Um, Emilian needs me for something, I'll be back," I say to her.
She smiles and says, "I am not dumb Elara." She reaches into her black leather booth and pulls out a knife. What the hell?!
"Seb! She has a knife!" I shout into the phone.
"Who are you and why are you in my home snooping around?" She walks towards me slowly with a knife.
I say nothing to her because I am completely terrified. "Baby, can you hurry up?"
She screams, "Stop calling him your baby! Do you want to die?!"
I am so confused right now. Suddenly, the door burst open and Seb rushes in front of me, holding a gun to her head.
"Put the knife down Felicia," his voice is cold.
She huffs, "You leave me here and come back with a slut?! How dare you?!"
"Shut up!" he raises his voice and she jumps back, surrendering.
"Please don't kill me." she pleads and drops the knife.
He looks back at me and his eyes soften then he says, "I'm not... At least not right now," he mumbles the last part. "Get her out of here!" he shouts and two huge guys walk in, grabbing her as she kicks around in their hold but they don't budge. Damn, they are strong.
He turns to me, tucking the gun into his holster. "I'm so sorry baby. I'm so very sorry. I wasn't expecting her to be here but I should've stayed with you. Forgive me?" he asks with pleading eyes.
"What the hell?! What the hell?! What the actual hell?!" are the only words that can come out of my mouth. This is the second time I've been close to being killed by a psycho. Fml.
"Elara," he takes both of my hands.
"I'm not mad at you Seb. It's just that my life is insane and I need a break. I almost died two times in one month."
"It's crazy how this was supposed to be our break," he chuckles.
"I know right, ugh. Who is she? Because I know for sure that your sister is not named Felicia."
"That's my cousin who is strangely in love with me. I don't even know why because we barely interact."
"Oh my goodness, Seb. Why didn't you warn me?" I ask frustratingly.
"Because I genuinely did know that she was going to be here."
"Is this even her room?"
"Nope, it's Elvira."
I let out a breath, "Thank God. I'm surprisingly not scared to meet her anymore after experiencing that."
"You'll meet her at dinner. Do you want to go to my old bedroom? It'll now be ours unless you want to stay in another one."
"We're staying here?"
"I wasn't planning on it but we can stay for a few days, maybe next week."
"Ok, I don't mind," we step out of the loft, closing the door and I'm immediately overwhelmed. "I'm going to need a map of this place because I have no idea where anything is."
He chuckles, "I'll send you one."
"You guys for real have one?" I ask surprised.
"Yes, love."
"Interesting," I respond. I wonder if the workers know their way around the whole property. I'm feeling a bit hungry so I tell him, "Baby, I want a snack."
"Alright, there's some in the pantry."
"Are there takis," I ask excitedly.
"There should be."
"Yay! Walk faster!"

"Sweetheart, will you call your dad and tell him dinner is ready?" Dana tells Loana.
"Yes, mama."
"Thank you."
"Emmy, will you come with me?" Leona asks.
Seb looks at me to make sure I'm good and I nod my head. His mom seems like she's not a psycho... I think.
"Of course," they disappear with her holding his hand.
"Elara, will you help me with the plates?"
"Sure!" I follow her into the kitchen.
"Since I know nothing but your name and a few other stuff Emilian has told me, will you tell me about yourself?"
"Well, my name is Elara Suave. I work as an assistant at Moldovan industries in the city I currently reside in which is New York. I have a sister, Eliza who is the only family I have contact with." I try to think of something more. "My hobbies are cooking, reading and shopping. And one more thing is that I love seafood."
She giggles, "Everything you just told me is what Emilian has mentioned about you and more. I just needed to know if my son knows his girlfriend or not."
I smile, "Really?"
"Mhm. Almost every call we have, I would ask how his day was and he would end up rambling about you. I'm not complaining though, because he seems so much happier than he was six months ago. You saved him Dear, and I thank you for that."
"He just needs someone to love and appreciate him and I am more than happy to do that. I promise to take care of him."
"I know you will," she embraces me. "Let's get the table set up now. "
She gives me half of the plates and I set them in the available spots on the table. I notice there are more plates than needed so I ask, "Do you guys normally set the table with more than enough plates?"
"Oh, no, Eugen invited his best friend and his daughter."
"Oh."
"Don't worry, they shouldn't bother you. I don't like the pair myself but that's his best friend and Emilian's best friend."
I turn to her immediately, "Isn't Lucian his best friend?"
"He is, but he usually spends a lot of time with Maria when he comes here. I just assume that she's his best friend too," she shrugs.
We both go to the kitchen and grab the pans of food she prepared. "That's weird because he's never mentioned her."
"Maybe they're not friends anymore. Don't worry about it though, I'm sure he has a reason."
"Yeah, maybe."
Fifteen minutes later, the table is set but only me, Emilian, Dana, Loana, and Carson are at the table. Eugen say he'll come when his friend arrives and Elvira said she would be a bit late.
I am sitting in the middle of Loana and Emilian. Dana is sitting across from Loana with Carson beside her. Carson and Emilian are both on their phones while I and Dana are being entertained by Loana.
"When I grow up, I want to live with mama in a small house like Peppa pig."
"Why not a big one?" I ask.
"Cause Peppa doesn't have a big one."
I giggle, "Your right. Can I visit?"
"Yup! We can have tea parties! Me, you, mama, and Elvira. Emmy might get jealous though," she whispers.
"I heard that." Seb rests his phone down and wraps his arm around me.
Loana stares at his arms on me and asks, "Are you guys like," she looks around and whispers, "in love?"
I smile, "Yes. we are."
"Does that mean you guys kiss?"
"Loana!" Dana scolds her.
"Sorry," she apologizes to me.
"It's fine," I say to Loana.
"What's up everyone," a woman that looks almost identical to Dana, but younger.
"Vira!" Loana runs to hug her.
"Hi little one," she pats her head and Loana comes back to me, sitting on my lap.
"I'm glad my daughter can finally make an appearance," Dana stands, squeezing Elvira into a hug.
"Mama, I was just here last week," she rolls her eyes.
"So? I still miss you," Dana kisses her on the cheek with the biggest smile on her face.
"Ok mama, you can let go now," Elvira takes a seat and her eyes land on me. "Who is she?"
"My girlfriend," Seb says.
"What happened to Maria?"
He rolls his eyes, "She was never my girlfriend. Only a friend."
"Oh, well, you're pretty."
"Thanks," I say awkwardly.
"Mama, I'm hungry," Loana whines.
"Ok, sweetheart. What do you want?"
"Salata de boef."
"That's all?"
"Yes ma'am."
Dana picks up some kind of salad that doesn't look very appetizing to me.
"What's that?" I ask.
"Beef salad. You guys can get your food too if you want."
"Baby, what are you going to eat first?" I ask so, only he can hear me.
"CiorbÄ de burtÄ." He sounds sexy when he speaks Romanian but I have no idea what he's saying.
"Seb, I have no idea what that is."
He chuckles, "Beef soup, love. What do you want? I'll get it for you."
"Whatever you think I should eat."
"Momma did you make the fish soup?" he asks.
"Oh! Of course. I forgot to take it out. I'm so sorry," she rushes to the kitchen to get it.
"You told her I'm pescatarian?" I whisper to him. I forgot to tell her and I'm surprised he told her.
"Why wouldn't I? What would you eat, baby?" he kisses me on my forehead.
"Here you go, dear. I made fish soup and shrimp because he said it's your favorite food. You can also have rice pilaf with it if you want."
"Thank you so much. It looks yummy."
"No problem!" I realize when they speak English, they hide their accents very well. That's impressive.
"BunÄ seara tuturor," a male voice enters the dining room.
"Good evening," Dana answers, standing up to greet the man and his daughter. Damn, she looks like she belongs on a runway.
"Buna ziua everyone!" she speaks with a silvery voice. Ugh, even her voice is amazing.
"Baby, do want rice pilaf?" he asks.
"Yes please." He grabs my plate and puts a pile of rice on it.
My eyes widen, "Seb?! I don't need all of that." I tell him.
"I'm sharing it with you if that's fine. My plate is too full," he says and he's right. This man has loads of meat on his plate and I notice Carson's plate looks identical.
Maria sits across from Seb and says, "Hi Emilian."
"Hello, Maria."
She then looks at me, "Hi, are you Leona's babysitter?"
"No, my name is Elara and I'm Emilian's girlfriend. Nice to meet you," I send a small smile.
"Oh." She goes silent for a few minutes. "I'm happy you invited me!" she exclaims to Seb.
"I didn't," he responds.
"But your father told me-," Eugen walks in.
"Sorry I'm late, I had a few things to handle." He sits next to Dana, kissing her on the cheek, and nods to his best friend. "Let's pray and get started. I'm incredibly hungry."
