027 Sexually Transmitted Parasite

Today, a few hours ago, the ghost joined our lives. She became a very close friend of Anu. At first, I was a bit sceptical. But soon, I started liking the ghost. The ghost was like a guardian angel of Anu.

Anu was talking to the ghost and running around. Mom checked up on us every once in a while. But she didn't pay much attention to this new 'imaginary friend' of Anu. I noticed that mom was a bit worried. At first, I dismissed it as a normal reaction after resigning from her job. But everything changed when dad came home.

"Anu, go to your room and play." Mom sent Anu to her room.

I started getting worried. Dad also noticed the unusualness in mom's tone and started to worry. I was on the dining table and mom and dad were sitting close to each other.

"What's the issue?" Dad asked.

"After doing everything, you have the courage to ask me that?" Mom exploded.

'This is bad... What did this old man do now to anger mom?' I felt a new headache coming.

"I... I got it very cheap. It.. was free. I only had to pay for the shipment. That's why I brought the telescope." Dad was stammering.

"You bought a telescope?" Mom started frowning.

Dad scratched his head stupidly.

"I am not talking about that. I got STP." Mom replied coldly.

"What's STP?" Dad asked confusedly. I was also confused.

"Sexually Transmitted Parasite." Mom gritted her teeth and spat out the words.

"What?"

'What?' Both dad and I were shocked.

"I... I swear I was loyal to you. I haven't done anything wrong. Please trust me." Dad was extremely nervous and started pleading.

'Yaa... He is an idiot. But he is never a cheater.' I told myself.

"Are you saying that I am not loyal?" Mom's face was about to explode.

"No... No. There must be another explanation." Dad was thinking of an explanation.

I too started thinking of an explanation. This was absolutely not good. I didn't want anything bad to happen to my family. But mom getting STP was something that was completely out of what I could imagine. Something like this didn't happen in my previous life either.

"There is only one explanation and you already know it."

"Please trust me. I don't know."

"Are you going to take responsibility or not?" Mom asked coldly.

"Yes. What to do now?" Dad was on the verge of tears.

"There is nothing much to do. In about 7 months it will be mature and come out. Till then, I have to suffer. After that, we both will suffer." Mom said with a sly smile.

"Are you pranking me?" Dad asked with relief after seeing mom's smile.

'Exactly! This is not a good prank.' I silently supported dad.

"I am not lying." Mom replied sternly.

Hearing that, dad's face darkened again. His expression switched between a nervous smile and fear. He was having a very hard time. I wasn't any better. I was also nervous.

"There must be a solution. Please tell me everything in detail I promise I will do anything." Dad was almost crying.

Mom had just resigned. There was no guarantee for dad's job. Everything was going wrong and then a new issue came up.

"Mom is pregnantttt..." Anu screamed from the other room.

"How did you..." Mom was shocked.

'What...' I was even more confused.

"The baby is the parasite," Anu added.

"Wait... That's not true, right? Is it true? ...." Dad asked in disbelief. Multiple emotions were flickering on his face.

Mom begrudgingly looked at Anu. Then she softly said. "Yes. We are going to have one more..."

Before mom could finish, dad jumped and hugged her. He was actually crying. "I love you... I am going to kill you... Don't scare me like this... " He kept on blabbering as he covered mom with kisses.

I was dumbstruck. In my previous life, I didn't have any younger siblings. But now I am going to have one. I was somehow excited and happy beyond words could describe. I just wanted to get up and hug and kiss mom. But I did my best to control my urges.

Anu happily joined the duo in hugging and kissing. She didn't understand what was happening. But she was the kind of person who was always up for hugs and kisses.

It took a few minutes for dad to calm down. He was still wiping his tears. In my previous life, I had never seen dad crying. Even when mom died, he lifelessly stared at the dead body like a man who lost his senses. But now, I saw him crying and I was happy to see it.

"How did you solve the puzzle?" Mom asked Anu.

Anu was just four years old. She didn't even know what pregnancy meant. So, she giving the answer was something completely unexpected for everyone.

"Elder sister told me."

"Who is this elder sister?" Dad asked curiously.

"That's her new imaginary friend." Mom replied.

Suddenly, I realized another truth. In my previous life, Anu had an imaginary elder sister. Only she wasn't imaginary. She was indeed there and it was the ghost in the clock. But the clock was not there in my previous life. Looks like there are more things to unveil in the future.

Mom and dad were so happy that they completely forgot that an imaginary friend cannot tell Anu something that she doesn't already know.

"I had a suspicion for a while now. So I secretly got a testing kit the last time we went out. But I didn't have the courage to check it. Today, I did it." Mom explained.

"Did you spend the entire day trying to make up this prank?"

"Yes. Babies are usually born from sexually transmitted sperm. Then it lives like a parasite. So I came up with this."

"You made me worry a lot," Dad complained.

"You deserved it."

"It wasn't my fault. It's his fault." Dad poked my cheek.

'What did I do?' I wondered.

"Little rascal, If you hadn't made all that issue that day, I wouldn't have forgotten about protection." Dad scolded me playfully. He thought that we kids won't understand the meaning of his words. But unfortunately for him, I was not exactly a baby.

I finally understood. Remember the time dad did his best to make me sleep so that he can spend 'private time' with mom? [1] That day, I noticed him grabbing protection. But later I made a lot of issues and in the end, he forgot protection. Just like how he said he was going to make a younger sister for me, a young sister or brother was on the way for me.

It was a very happy day for us. We were all happy and laughing. Even Doodu was happy and dancing with Anu. The ghost was flying in circles in the room. She was invisible to mom and dad.

In the morning, Anu got her guardian angel. In the evening, we got a piece of unexpected happy news. Today was one of the best days since I returned. I cried and laughed.

"So... Telescope. Huh?" Mom nudged dad.

"That... I got it at a good discount." Dad stupidly scratched his head.

"I am in a good mood. So I will let it go for once. But today onwards, we should reduce our expenses."

"Right. With the baby on the way, we have to reduce expenses." Dad agreed.

What do you like the most about your family?

To me, it is the bond. When mom was pranking dad earlier, dad never considered the possibility of mom cheating on him. When mom told him to reduce expenses, he just accepted it without even mentioning that mom resigned at the wrong time.
