"Jackson, don't..." Seeing his impatient face, Cherry tried to push him off again. She knew what would come next and she was afraid he might hurt their unborn baby.

He pushed ahead anyway, only stopping to speak as he was ready to enter her. "No, you are my woman. You will listen to me, " he commanded.

"Wait a second, " Cherry pleaded. "Jackson, I need to tell you something first!"

Jackson was losing his patience, but he hesitated when he saw Cherry's pained and reluctant expression. "What is it?" he asked, curious.

"Let go of me, first, " Cherry countered. Uncomfortable with him on top of her, she needed freedom to move.

"No way. What if you run away again?" Jackson objected immediately. 'I can't let my prey slip away, ' he thought.

Cherry couldn't help but burst into laughter, causing Jackson to raise an eyebrow in confusion. "Where could I go at night?" she asked teasingly.

Jackson considered. 'She is right. She can't get away from me, even if she wanted to. I'll listen to what she wants to say then, ' he decided.

He reluctantly got off of her and perched on the edge of the bed. "Say it. It must be something important, or you will see how I punish you later."

Cherry gratefully sat up and scooted till she was beside her husband. "Jackson, do you feel happy now?" she asked meekly. She wrapped one of her arms around his arm and laid her head on his shoulder.

"Of course, I am. I have you by my side. Perhaps our son has the same idea, to be happy with you by our sides, " Jackson replied thoughtfully.

"What if we might have a new family member?" Cherry asked.

Jackson grew confused again. 'What is she saying?'

"What do you mean?" Jackson asked, turning to look at his dear wife.

"Jackson, I'm pregnant, " Cherry replied softly. She put her hands on his neck and stared into his eyes.

Dumbfounded, Jackson didn't know what to say. He blinked a few times, trying to process. 'Is this true? Is she really pregnant?' he wondered.

"What- what did you just say?" Jackson asked in shock.

Taking a deep breath, Cherry put on her serious look. "I said that I am pregnant. We're having another child, " she told him, looking him in the eye.

Jackson fixed his eyes slowly on Cherry's belly. 'There is no baby bump there. But she wouldn't lie to me about this, ' he thought.

He moved his gaze back up to her face. "Sweetheart, " he stammered.

"What's wrong? Don't you feel happy? I thought you wanted another child. You even bet with Joe about this, " Cherry huffed, furrowing her brows and folding her arms. 'I will never forget. Jackson managed to possess me under the pretext of pregnancy, ' Cherry thought angrily to herself.

"Happy? Of course, I'm ecstatic! I was just surprised, " Jackson replied quickly. He blinked a few more times. "We're having another child. I'll be a father again!" he gushed with delight.

Joy filled him deeply as he stroked Cherry's belly softly.

"This means you can't touch me for a long time. Can you do that?" Cherry asked, warily watching his reaction.

"Yes, of course, I can, " Jackson answered immediately, the images of another baby dancing in his mind as he looked at his wife's belly. 'For my child and my beloved woman, I will control myself, ' he thought.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Cherry smiled. "I am glad to hear that."

"Honey, I didn't take good care of you when you had Joe, which made you suffer too much. But this time, I will do better. I will treat you better, and watch over you. I won't let any harm come to you and our unborn baby. I will be a good dad, " Jackson asserted seriously, looking back up at her dainty features.

Jackson's touching promises almost brought her to tears. 'That's what I want. I will never forget when I had Joe. I felt helpless and bitter. I'm willing to sacrifice something for my family. From now on, I will focus on Jackson and Joe. They are my biggest comfort and love. I will not only love them, but this unborn baby. It's our child, and I will protect her, ' Cherry promised herself and the little baby in her womb.

"I believe you, Jackson. I have faith in you. I don't have much ambition. All I want is that we can lead a peaceful life, " Cherry replied.

"You have my word." Jackson put a gentle fist on his chest. "From today on, I will take care of you myself, " he swore confidently.

Cherry nodded. "How about you prepare the bath water for me? I'd like to take a shower."

"As you command, my queen, " Jackson responded obediently. "Dear, just stay here and wait for me a minute. I'll get it ready for you in no time."

"Hmm, take your time, " she hummed. Jackson, however, had already gone to the bathroom.

She smiled brightly at the doorway he had disappeared through. 'This is the simple life I long for. To be looked after, spoiled and loved by him like this.'

Soon after, Jackson returned. "Honey, your shower is ready, " he said to her.

"Thank you, Jackson!" She shot him a grateful smile.

"Fool, don't be so formal with me." Jackson walked over to her and lifted her, holding her off the ground against his chest.

"What are you doing?" Cherry cried out, taken aback. 'Didn't he promise me not to touch me? What's going on here?' she wondered.

"I will take you to the bathroom. You're vulnerable. What kind of husband and father would I be if I let you walk such a long way? I will carry you there, " Jackson explained.

"There's no need for that. I can walk myself. It has only been a few months since I got pregnant. I'm not as delicate as you imagine, " Cherry responded. His excessive indulgence caught her by surprise.

"I want to do this for you. I like doting on you like this, " Jackson told her overbearingly.

She blew a short puff of air through her nose in consideration. "Then promise me you'll behave yourself in the bathroom, " she countered.

"Okay, " he grinned. "I promise."
