Chapter 450
Ice and Fire
"Well, if it isn't love at first sight, Derek must think of Amy as a charming woman that he wants to get to know better, " stated Jackson, concluding his belief was sound.
The complicated situation made Cherry somewhat uneasy, so she mused out loud, "Well, they just barely met tonight, they'll have tons of chances to see each other again, we need to be patient. Perhaps they will fall in love over time. It's up to the two of them."
Seeing how concerned Cherry was, Jackson playfully, and softly pinched her nose while comforting her, "Babe, all you need to fret about is taking good care of Joe and I. That's your duty, so don't stress over other things. You know what kind of person Derek is, as well as your classmate, Miss Amy, there's no doubt they are both good people. It wouldn't be bad if they started dating. There's no need to worry about them."
"Well, that's true, " agreed Cherry leaning against his chest as she wrapped her arms around his neck, "My darling, I care for only you, and Joe."
Jackson's hot breath tickled Cherry's ear as he whispered lovingly into her ear, "Can't you just serve me, and not Joe?"
Cherry refused and shook her head, "Impossible! Joe is my son!"
"True, but, you are my wife!" Jackson denied her argument as he lifted her into his arms, and walked up the stairs.
The scenery whizzed by on the other side of the car window Amy stared out. She sat silently next to him in the car, and didn't know what to say, so she kept staring out the windows.
His hands were clammy as he tightly clasped the steering wheel, controlling the car as it raced down the road. Derek wanted to talk, but he didn't know where to start. He was embarrassed.
"Well, " Derek finally said, not able to bear the silence, "Have you been teaching the piano for long?"
Nodding profusely, Amy explained, "Yes, after I graduated from the University, I started it at the school, and I tutor part time ."
"Well, that's good, " Derek continued politely, "How did Joe do?"
"He's as clever as his father, " said Amy.
"Yes, Joe is very smart. Sometimes even my Sister, Cherry, isn't able to deal with this to deal with him, " said Derek, grinning.
The way there was referred Cherry made Amy curious, so she asked, "Mr. Derek, are you and Mr. Jackson are close friends?"
"Yes, we are. We grew up together in the military residential compound, " answered Derek.
Ahh, that's explains why you felt at home there, " said Amy smiling.
"Oh, you noticed?" It was true, Derek realized, and now that Amy mentioned it, he felt self-conscious, but, he had always thought of Jackson's house as his home.
"Yes, " said Amy nodding.
Derek touched his head, making light of the embarrassment he felt, "Ha-ha, I do tend to make myself at home there."
Reflecting on this gentler, extroverted version of himself, Derek was thrown for a loop as he realized that he wasn't acting like his usual cold-hearted, humorless self.
She sat in the passenger seat next to Derek, and smiled at his his comment, but, remained silent, as she looked at her hands clasped together in her lap.
The car came to a stop in the parking lot of the apartment complex where Amy lived. Unbuckling her seatbelt, she peeked at Derek quickly and flashed a grateful smile as she said, "Thank you for bringing me home, good night."
"It was my pleasure!" Derek's eyes twinkled as he smiled at Amy, "It's getting late now. I will wait here till you are upstairs. Have a good night, "
Derek's soft persuasive voice had a lulling quality.
Unable to think clearly, Amy responded, "Okay, well, see you, " She exited the car as quickly as possible, flew into the building and up the stairs.
Derek sat there, watching Amy disappear into the building. He waited a few more minutes, giving her time to get up to her apartment before leaving.
Stretching out in bed, Derek laid with his head was cradled by his arm, a faraway look in his happy, hazy eyes. Whether his eyes were opened or closed, Derek saw Amy. Individual characteristics of Amy's, like her smile, her eyes, alongside her general, beautiful appearance. He didn't understand what was wrong. Derek had been home for hours now, and his mind was stuck in a loop, thinking about Amy.
The following morning, sunlight poured into the villa as Cherry and Jackson sat in the dining room having breakfast. Joe came downstairs, sat down at the table and slowly ate his breakfast.
"Joe, what did you think about your piano lesson, last night?" Cherry was excited to discover what he thought.
"It was pretty good! Miss Amy is a great teacher. I worked hard and learned everything she taught me, " said Joe in a sleepy voice.
"That's wonderful. I am thrilled that you are an eager student! Keep it up, " gushed Cherry smiling with pride and love. Cherry felt some tension leaving her when it dawned on her. She could put her mind at rest on this, since Joe's teacher was a highly qualified professional, and he enjoyed Ice and Fire ï¤Chapter 449 Only Want To See You (Part Two)

Waving his hand dismissively at his Mommy, Joe informed her, "I know, I know, Mommy. Stop worrying."
Smiling indulgently at her beautiful little boy, Cherry ignored that Joe's response had been impertinent.
Shortly after breakfast, the family went their separate ways for the day. Cherry dropped Joe off at school, then drove to work, while Jackson headed over to the bar.
Sitting in his office, and settling into work mode for the day, Jackson started off by catching up with the world of finance and other newsworthy headlines online.
'Unknown Name, ' and a string of numbers were lighting up on his cell's screen as it rang unexpectedly. He glanced at the number, not recognizing it, Jackson hesitated, letting it ring longer. Finally, Jackson accepted the call.
"Hello, " Jackson dropped the octave of his voice, making himself sound rougher as he answered the phone.
