Chapter 22: Greyson

I'm woken up by a sneeze, I look over my shoulder and see soph awake and crying. She's squashed between Oakley and I and the tip of her nose is red as fuck.

"Hakuna matata, it's a jungle, rumble in the jungle" Oakley mumbles in his sleep. Only then do I realize he's spooning me and that's why soph is so crammed in between us. Indigo shifts in her sleep and smacks me in the face. What a fantastic morning this is turning out to be.

"Bear?" Sophs tearful voice whispers, I turn on my back and look at her sideways.

"Hey princess, what's up?" She lets a tear fall down her cheek and hugs my neck.

"I-I feel sick" she stutters and sneezes again. I slowly get up careful not to wake the others and move across the mattress to the floor with Sophie in my arms.

My nose is a little blocked to and so I sniff one time.

"Get a fucking tissue before I suffocate you with stuffy" indigo mutters. That Fucking stuffed animal, it's gross, I avoid contact with it at all costs, don't wanna catch some disease. God knows where that things been.

I turn around and stick my tongue out at her.

"Wouldn't do that to me if you want to keep your tongue" the woman's got eyes everywhere even when her eyes are closed. She's all seeing, seriously the other day I walked into the bedroom at 1am from a meeting, I couldn't see shit it was so dark. I was so fucking tired so I just took off my suit and left my boxers on and she goes 'don't you dare leave those clothes on the floor Greyson' first of all when the hell did she wake up and how did she even see me and second of all who does she think she is bossing me around, i don't take orders from her.

So I picked up my clothes and chucked them in the hamper then went to bed, only because I wanted to.

I head into the kitchen with soph and set her on the counter while I find her some nasal spray and tablets. It takes Fucking ages but I eventually find the medicine in a cabinet above one of the ovens. I grab out the stuff and walk over to her.

"Ok soph, this'll make you feel better" I reassure her and she starts to tear up again, I hold her tiny hand and take out a tablet.

"You know soph? Only big girls take tablets" I say to her and she looks up at me her eyes wide.

"Really?" She sniffles and rubs her eyes, I wipe the tear off her cheek and nod my head.

"Only big,brave girls" I repeat "are you a big,brave girl soph? Or should I put them away?" I ask and turn to walk away when she calls out to me.

"No! I'm a big girl I can take the tablets and have the nasal spray" she tells me.

"Atta girl" I praise her and she smiles at me, I give her the medicine and she stays on the counter.

"Do you want something to eat sweetheart?" I question and she nods.

"Toast?"

She nods again so I put a couple of pieces in the toaster and walk over to get my phone off of charge.

I look through my phone while soph traces my tattoos, when the toast pops up I ask her what she wants on it and she says butter, so I do that for her and cut it in half.

She thanks me and gets to eating.

While she's doing that I clear up and I hear voices in the living room where we all slept last night.

"What's the time?" Matt groggily asks and Elliot groans

"To Fucking early to be awake" he complains

"Happy morning everyone, get ready for another day of greatness and sunshine!" Oaks exclaims and walks into the kitchen. Soph smiles and reaches for him and he heads over to her to pick her up.

She points to her cheek and Oakley kisses it as she giggles. I want one.

"Don't even think about it" indigo says as she walks in. She can read minds now too?

"You scared me, it's too early for the Halloween masks blue" I joke but stop when she turns and sends me the most icy look I've ever seen, if looks could kill....

"Why are so fucking annoying, I hate you and I hate the fact you're attractive and I don't like anyone right now" she tells me and I look at her with wide eyes.

I'm gonna cut to the chase, I know about girls and their periods unlike Matteo who still thinks girls don't shit. I know that indigo is on her period because this happens every month and it's fucking terrifying. It's like living with dragon that's also a Fucking time bomb.

There was this one time like 8 months ago and I forgot to make her the tea she never asked for. She went off. Big time. By the end of the day I was surrounded by broken dishes and a plastic plant that had been set on fire. Sorry I can't read minds

But I chose not too. Don't judge me it was life or death when the lemons started to fly at my face.

I'm not saying periods aren't painful because I'm sure as fuck they are but for indigo, she has to go to hospital and stuff for it although that doesn't stop the whole family from calling her grumps for the whole time she's on it.

I look over to Elliot who just walked in and he mouths grumps at me I nod my head in agreement and shudder. I'm Scared for my life.

"Hunt, can you grab that bowl for me baby" my mum asks hunter, we're all having breakfast. Amelia left with Sophie because she was feeling sick too, Oakley left with them and he's staying the night at hers, I know for a fact that he's only doing that because he knows indigos on her period. Sneaky bitch. Belle went home at 12am and Ollie headed upstairs to sleep in indis room for the night.

Vincenzo walks in a smacks sofias butt we all cover our eyes and scream.

"Oh get over it you guys, act like you're all so innocent" My dad says and sits down to read the paper.

"I am innocent" Ollie says and my mum and Sofia walk up to him and squash his cheeks. He wiggles his eyebrows at me and I glare at him. He's Such a baby.

We all sit down to eat and indigo appears half way through.

"Glad you decided to join us darling" Sofia says sarcastically and indigo holds up my gun-

Where does she keep getting that from

"If you piss me off I will shoot you, if you talk to me I will shoot you, if you look at me funny I will shoot you and if I look at you're face and it annoys me I will shoot you" she announces waving the gun around. Ok

"Hey indi let's just put the gun down-"

"Don't test me Greyson Benjamin king" she hisses out at me and sits next to me. Why next to me, anyone but me.

She presses the gun to my side

Ok! I don't feel safe anymore.

"What you doing there tiger" Enzo comments as he eyes the gun in indigos hand.

"I want a tiger" she says randomly, noted.

I grab the gun out of her hand and replace it with a knife and fork.

"Could you stop threatening me with a gun wifey" I say to her and she smiles at me.

"Of course hubby" she replies and I groan as she jabs me with the knife under the table

Everyone resumes their conversation and I talk to Vincenzo.

"The mission next week is a decent drive" he says and puts a spoon of coffee in his mug.

"How long?" I ask

"7 hours" holy fuck

"Can't we fly?"

"Allie and sof are using the plain to go to Paris and the other one is in for service" he replies

"What about our two?" I question

"Nope you're parents have Lended them to friends for the week" at least I'm driving on my own-

"You take indigo and Oakley I'll go with the twins, hunter and Enzo will take a car. Our men will meet us there" I'm not spending 7 hours with Oakley and his supposed 'travel sickness' he fakes it to get the front seat, I know he does.

"Sure" I reply and sigh. Fan-fucking-tastic.

We're staying one more night at indigos so I'm on the 3rd floor with matt in the games room playing PlayStation. I changed into grey sweatpants and I'm shirtless.

"Get out of my way" matt shouts at some random person

"They can't hear you matt" I say to calm him down

"I'm sending them a negative signal Greyson" Jesus Christ.

He dies on the game and gets up.

"Alright I'm gonna go get some drinks, do want a coke or something" he asks and I nod my head, he leaves and I continue playing.

It's been a few minutes and he's taking forever, I should really get one of these chairs, there really fucking comfortable-

"Grey, code red, she's gone psycho bitch" Matteo hisses as he barges through the door.

"What did you do?" I whisper back

"Nothing" I look at him "litrally all I did was walk down the stairs" I look again.

"Andimayhavetakenthelastcokeshewanted" he rushes out

"What?"

"God you're so slow, I said I may have taken the last coke she wanted" he explains more slowly.

"Why the fuck would you do that, do you want to die, do you?" I question him, she's going to kill us.

"No of course not, I wasn't thinking and then she was just there so I screamed and ran away and she started yelling and chasing me" he recalls

"Well she's not here and she would've got to us by now so I think we're good-"

"Matteo give me the Fucking coke before I chop off your balks and feed them to you" yep that's mad....that's really scary mad actually

"I opened it already" matt explains and gulps, he gets up and runs out the room slamming the door behind him.

He's left me alone with her, the betrayal I feel right now is unmatched.

I look at her and smile.

"Don't you smile at me Greyson, I'm this close to killing someone, I just wanted the coke, why is that so much to ask for y'know" I nod

She's tearing up, fuck.

"A-and when I went downstairs, I tripped on the rug! And my stomach hurts and I just want to sleep but I can't because your not in the bed, please come to bed" here's the thing about indigo, she hates being vulnerable, expressing emotion makes her uncomfortable but right now she can't help it so I walk up to her and wrap my arms around her small figure.

"I'll come to bed with you baby" I reassure her and hold her hand as we head back to her bedroom.

We get in and she lays down on her bed.

"Need anything?" I ask

"You" wow she does feel bad

"Ok sweetheart" I climb in the bed next to her and she curls into a ball. I go over to her and place my hand on her stomach. My hands are warm, they always have been, indigos are cold, they always have been.

I trace small circles on her abdomen and she hums in satisfaction.

"Sorry" she apologizes and I shake my head.

"Nothing to be sorry about darling, it's just how you handle this time of the month, I know it sucks for you but it's ok to let yourself be a bit emotional" I comfort her and she smiles.

"So you didn't think the coke thing was silly?" Yes, yes I did.

"No, no I didn't"

"Thanks grey"

"Thanks indi"

She turns to look at me and gives me a questioning look.

"What?" I shrug

"Why'd you say thanks" she asks

"Because you said thanks" I explain

"Well now it's awkward" she tells me

"Is it? I don't feel-"

"Save it, all I'm hearing is you hate me and I'm ugly" she says and moves away from me.

"Indi, I never said that" I tell her

"Whatever" she mumbles and just as I'm about to drift off she shuffle's back over to me and puts my hand on her stomach. I smile at her and kiss the top of her head.

So stubborn.
