Chapter 22

Kiara

"Aksha" I and Neil said together the name of the baby girl.

"Wow Kiara! That's such a nice name, do you know what it means?" Mom asked and I just shook my head positively before speaking.

"It means Blessings from God." I said.

"Wow, my daughter is really intelligent!" Dad praised and I smiled at him.

"But Kiara, how did you come up with such a nice name so quickly?" Sid asked me a being a little confused.

"Actually Sid, My parents always say that if you've got a girl child then you're really blessed, and so they wanted to name me Aksha, but since my aunt was really a big fan of some TV serial, she was stubborn on naming me Kiara, as it was the actress's name in the serial, so I was named Kiara." I informed.

"Thank god, they didn't name you Aksha, otherwise how would've we gotten such a cute name for our baby doll." Neil said while picking up Little Aksha, and I just smiled looking at them.

They're gonna be the best father-daughter duo ever!

"Yes, so what I was saying is, my Mom and dad even though agreed, they still felt that they should name me what they thought of, but since they couldn't do anything about it, they just accepted the name, but when I came to know about this, I was in maybe grade 4 or 5, at that moment, I promised them, I'll name my child as Aksha." I said remembering the memory when the sudden realization hit me.

"Wait a minute, my mom and Dad know nothing about all this baby thing?" I said, actually kind of screamed in shock, and soon that shock was transferred to everyone.

"Oh My God, what would Priya Ji think, that her friend didn't even bother to tell her anything which even concerns her." Mom said getting restless.

"Oh Mom, Mumma is really chill and awesome, she wouldn't get angry, and if you think she will, do one thing, call her and Papa for dinner and then tell her everything." Neil said and I really loved the way he has gotten so familiar with my parents.

"You're right, So where should I start, yes I'll call Priya and Atish ji, while Kiara you take care of Aksha and Sid and Neil will help me in the kitchen and Harsh will go and buy the necessary it's for dinner." Mom quickly told us the plan and before we could deny, she had already left to call Mumma.

"Dad!" I called out.

"Yes dear?" He asked me.

"Can I call Prisha too?" I asked and he nodded and yes and before Sid could really jump in excitement, I just signaled him to stay silent.

"Ok everyone, I've called Priya Ji and invited her for dinner, but she doesn't know the reason she's coming, I'm planning on surprising her, so if she calls anyone of you, stay silent." Mom ordered us and we all nodded before getting back to work.

"The main thing, I've invited her for tomorrow's dinner as it's already dinner time, and we haven't really eaten anything except that few bites of pasta." Mom said and I and Sid agreed .

"Yeah, it's nice, we'll have a lot of time tomorrow, so everyone assemble at the dining table, while I'll bring the food which I've prepared." Dad said and I remembered that he was working in the kitchen.

We all then quickly had our dinner, talking at first and then in silence as the baby had slept.

"Kiara, give her to me, today I'll make her sleep in my room and tomorrow we'll bring a cradle for her." Mom said and quickly handed her a sleeping Aksha who was I swear looking so cute that I just wanted to snuggle with her.

After that, we all departed to our rooms and called it a day.

Neil

I can't believe that overnight I'm gonna be a father and also the fact that I and Kiara will be together now.

I'm so happy at the moment, that I don't have to leave her,

and it's for sure if we'll live together, someday or the other, even she'll start to love me and then we'll be forever in love and have our ever after.

Aksha.

Blessing of God.

She literally is! Kiara gave her a great name, she's definitely the blessing I was waiting for!

Right now we're in our room, and Aksha is with mom, and Kiara is somewhere roaming around,

that girl has really zero stamina, still, her excitement overpowers it all.

"Finally, everything is done and I can sleep now." Kiara said as soon as she entered and sat on the bed.

"What were you even doing?" I asked her, curiously.

"Nothing much, just calling an orphanage, setting the appointment, and talking to Prisha." She replied and now I know why she said everything is done, because this lady is been talking to Prisha for the past 2 hours.

"Now switch off the lights man, I've to sleep." Kiara yelled at me in a sleepy tone and I switched off the light after covering us with a blanket.

Third Person POV

Soon the sun came up as bright as could be radiating all the energy, but you know what was more energetic that day?

The Khurana Mansion!

And why shouldn't it be?

After all, they were gonna officially have the little Aksha with them.

For the first time that day Kiara had gotten up early and had got ready soon to go and adopt the little girl.

"Kiara, Neil, come fast, we've to have at least an hour of drive!" Yelled Prisha who had come to accompany the couple.

"Kiara beta, here, take her." Disha said giving Aksha to Kiara.

"And if you want, you can come after shopping a little for my granddaughter, and don't worry, I and Disha will prepare the feast for Aatish and Priya ji." Harsh said smiling

"Hey, take me too!" Sid called out and everyone waited for him, which was really for a short amount of time and drove off to the orphanage.

Soon they all reached the orphanage and completed the formalities for adoption and finally welcomed Aksha into their lives.

After that, all 5 of them went shopping and bought various things for the little girl and reached home where Disha and Harsh had already prepared food and were setting the table up for dinner.

Kiara

"Hello Mom!" I greeted as I entered the house.

"Hello Kiara and everyone, go and get ready fast Priya and Aatish Ji would be coming anytime soon." Mom said and we all went to get ready

I got ready in a sky blue colored Kurti, matching Neil's shirt and also Aksha's small dress.

This cute little daughter of mine was looking so angelic right now, I can't even tell!

"Kiara, are you ready?" Neil asked me while setting his shirt's sleeves.

"Yup, I am!" I said, and looking at the mirror for the last time I went down carrying Aksha in my arms with Neil following me.

"Oh My God, is she my grand daughter?" Mumma asked as soon as she saw me and came near me and took Aksha from me.

"Mom, you told her without me, I thought we were supposed to blast the surprise together!" I cribbed a little.

"Kiara, even I'm sad about it, your mother already knew about the kid, all thanks to your bestie and my future daughter in law." Mom said and we both glared at Prisha while she just sheepishly smiled.

"Hey, Don't scold her, if not for her, how would I have gotten the chance to bring a cradle for my granddaughter." Papa said, defending Prisha and showing us the cute purple colored cradle decorated with balloons .

"Wow, Papa it's so beautiful." Neil said while shaking it a little.

"True, and I guess my granddaughter would just uplift its beauty." Dad said and Mom made Aksha lie down in it.

As soon as her head touched the cradle she gave her the world's most beautiful smile making us all look at her with adoration-filled eyes

"I guess she really loved the cradle, see she's already starting to fall asleep." Prisha said and we all noticed that Aksha has slept already.

Then we decided not to make much chaos and silently had our dinner after which Mumma and papa left and the cradle was sent to our room with Aksha in it sleeping silently and peacefully.

"It was really a great time." I said as I lied down on the bed.

"It was indeed a nice time." Neil replied while lying down and within minutes we slept.

But I guess that Aksha doesn't like sleeping people, because as soon as we slept she started crying.

"Neil, what happened to her, why is she crying?" I asked as we got up from sleep.

"No idea let's see." Neil said to me after which we both got up from bed and he picked her up.

"uh-oh I guess it's her diaper changing time." Neil said to me after he picked her up but me being me even panicked in that situation.

"What will we do now? Shall I call Mom, I seriously don't know how to change diaper!" I started panicking while Neil just shushed me.

"I know how to change a diaper, go bring it from the bag." He said and I quickly handed him a fresh diaper which he quickly changed with the dirty one, and all this while I was looking at him in confusion.

"How do you know this?" I couldn't help but ask.

"Kiara, I had a working mother and a younger brother, and I grew up with n-number of cousins younger than me, do you think I've not done it before?" Neil said in an obvious toneand I just nodded.

"I'm done, I'll just go and wash my hands, till then you make her sleep." He said and I nodded before picking her up and roaming in the room to make her sleep.

Soon after that Neil came out and even Aksha slept clutching to me.

"I guess she won't leave her mother so soon, do one thing let her sleep with us on the bed." Neil said and I did the same silently so that She would not wake up.

I was lying silently staring at the cute angel lying on top of me when I saw Neil looking at us with so much love and adoration, that I couldn't help but forward my hand so that he could come closer to us which he did.

"So, Kiara, our first parental adventure was really nice, what say?"

"True,  and there are definitely many more to come." I said and he smiled in agreement and we all slept with Aksha on top of me and my both hands on her while Neil placed his hand over Aksha securing both of us like a shield of love and care.
