Chapter 21

Neil

"We are going to adopt her!" as soon as these words left Kiara's mouth everyone was shocked and confused.

"Kiara, are you sure?" Mom asked her and she just replied a very happy yes.

Everyone was questioning her decision, but I just remained silent thinking a really huge thought,

Is she mad? Like what hell is she saying? Maybe she isn't realizing that what are the consequences of her this weird decision.

But I said nothing and kept quiet allowing her to continue,

"Tomorrow, we'll go to the police station to inform them about this letter and the child and later we will adopt this child." Kiara announced as a final verdict and everyone nodded in agreement.

"Kiara, ask Neil too, it's going to his baby too once you adopt it." Prisha said and I felt relieved that somebody noticed that I'm here.

"I don't think he would be having a problem." Kiara said confidently and just as I was about to interrupt she asked me "Do you have a problem?" to which I just nodded a no.

And the discussion continued...

Honestly, I still can't understand what the hell is happening, and Kiara just seems to have more knowledge than me, So when she asked, I just nodded because maybe I feel she has a better plan because her current plan is just too weird.

She wants to adopt the baby, and she does know that we are going to separate after a few months, then how can she make a decision, like such a huge decision for that child's life, even though I would be the happiest person in the universe if she decides to stay, still...I cannot let the child's future be harmed.

I'm going to ask her these questions as soon as we reach our room, till then I guess I'll just keep quiet and listen.

"Kia, if by chance it's all fake, then what would happen?" Prisha asked her.

"I believe it's not, and even if it is, then the baby's real parents will get her that's not a big issue." Kiara said and everyone nodded to it when the baby started crying,

"Not again!" Sid murmured getting a glare from Kiara before she went to Mom's room and I decided to follow her with the note of all the questions I had to ask in my mind.

'We are going to adopt her'!

These words are just replaying in my mind... Maybe it was a decision taken in too much hurry, but that's what I thought is best for that little girl who has just seen some days in this world.

Currently, I'm in my room, dodging her and playing with her,

She's definitely the most adorable person I've seen in this whole world!

And maybe she'll be the reason, I get to stay with Neil... I know that he would've also realized that if she has to be adopted we will have to stay together.

And the plus point, we would already have a kid,

I just pray that all this happening must be true, even though I would be really happy if it's some weird kind of game and her parents are still alive.

"Oh dear, what happened, why are you crying, you're a nice girl na, then why are you crying?" I said to the little baby girl who had again started crying.

"Sshhh, don't cry, see everything is fine... No problem..." I tried to calm the little girl but it seem to have no effect.

"Kiara, what happened?" Mom asked coming into the room.

"I don't know Mom, I was playing with her, but she started crying suddenly." I informed still trying to calm her down.

"Kia, she'll not be quite like this, she is hungry." Mom said and I quickly realized that she's here for past 4-5 hours and it was definitely a long gap without food.

"You're right Mom, I'll go and make milk for her, you bring her down." I said and rushed to the kitchen.

I quickly took the milk bottle, added a little milk powder to it and the warm water and mixed it and just tasted it to see if it was too hot.

Sensing that it was perfect, I went to the Living room where mom was present with the baby, Seeing me she quickly sat on the sofa and forwarded her hand for the bottle, which I gave immediately and finally she gave the milk to the baby and she had stopped crying.

Babies are hectic!!

"Kia, you've already taken a lot of care of her, if you want you can go to your room to rest for a while and come to help me with the dinner." Mom said and I soon realized that I've missed my little power nap and tiredness got into me, so I just nodded and went in the room to immediately lie down on the bed.

As I was about to close my eyes and go into my beauty sleep, a voice disturbed me,

"Stop right there, don't sleep!" said the voice and I know it was Neil and he might be having some questions so for the first time ever I obeyed someone who declined my sleep and sat on the bed.

"Do you know, what the hell have you done?" Neil kind of yelled at me which I didn't really pay attention to.

"First of all, stop yelling and calm down!" I said and he just gave me an impossible look while sitting down next to me.

"And, wait a minute!" I said before getting up and taking a bar of chocolate from my purse and again sitting on the bed.

"Here, have this, It reduces stress." I said forwarding him the chocolate which he took without a single question and gladly ate it.

I knew he was stressed, I can make it out from his face!

"So, feeling better?" I asked to which he just hummed, "Now ask, what you were asking?"

"I was saying that, do you even realize what have you done?" He asked in the same yelling way just a little calm this time.

"Yes, I do realize it." I said just to make him look at me in amusement

"So, you do know that if the baby stays, meaning that if we adopt the baby, we would have to stay together?" he said and I looked at him with a proud smile.

My husband is intelligent!

"Yes, I know, and that's why I said this." I said and he looked like a kid who has got all the happiness for a second before he again turned serious.

"Are you serious?" he asked me in a seriously serious tone.

"Yes, 100% sure, I want to live with you, Neil, I cannot even imagine a life in which you, mom, dad, and Sid are not there, I want to give our marriage a chance." I said to him all that I wanted to not before keeping my hands on his so that remains calm and doesn't just shout and get angry.

but to my surprise, he just freed his hands and hugged me,

and there goes, the most lovely hug of my life, I knew I made the best decision by telling him everything.

Thinking this, even I hugged him back and then we both left each other and he just smiled ear to ear.

Really adorable smile!

"Thank you, Thank you so much, Kiara, I so wanted to give this marriage a chance, I know I won't ever get anybody better than you." He said and I just flipped my hair in pride.

"So, Mr. Neil, are you ready, to make this marriage, with me, work?" I asked forwarding my hand to which he shook his and replied yes.

This is a great day!

"And you know the best part of this marriage?" I said and he looked at me confused,

"We already have a kid, which means we are already a happy family!" I said and we both smiled at the thought.

"That kid is really cute and so innocent, we would tomorrow immediately go to the police station, and do all the further requirements." Neil said and I shook my head.

"Damn!, I was so stressed you know, for this, for talking about making the marriage work." I said to which he just chuckled.

"You're talking about this because you don't know about my stress level, I was definitely more stressed than you." He said.

"Anyways, I'm really happy for us." I said and we both smiled again, looking at each other.

"So, Kiara, Now you can sleep, I've got my answers." Neil said in a joking tone and I hit him on the arm as a reflex and then lay down again for my power nap which ended up being a 2-hour long nap.

After I woke up, I soon realized that it was quite late, so I immediately went downstairs not before making myself look a little civilized, and went into the kitchen where mom was playing with Kia, while dad was cooking.

what? wait a minute,

I thought he was on some business trip

"Dad, when did you come?" I asked as soon as I entered the kitchen.

"I guess an hour ago." He informed, shrugging his shoulders.

"And mom made you cook immediately." I said to which dad gave a sad expression, while I and mom laughed.

"Anyways, Kiara, this girl is so cute, If you're going to adopt her do it soon because I can't wait for her to be my granddaughter." Dad said and I was about to reply before my phone beeped with a message.

I excused myself, to open the message, and as I did, I screamed at top of my lungs with excitement,

"Kia, what happened, are you alright?" Mom and Dad asked me with concern, while Sid and Neil too came down hearing my scream.

"Kiara, what happened?" The  brothers asked together.

I took a deep breath, controlling my happiness, before speaking,

"Prishu texted me, that after she went from here, she directly went to the police station, and the police checked the information about the baby , and the letter and Leela's house and they've said that everything happening is truth and that we can adopt the baby now, legally. We don't have to roam here and there for investigating first and then reaching conclusions."

As soon as I finished, everyone just froze for a minute before we all jumped into happiness,

"I'm so happy, Kia, thank you and Sid now I guess I should get you married quickly." Mom said and I just nodded while Sid just blushed.

"Yaa, she is right, your girlfriend is too nice and intelligent, we should get you married fast or else her parents won't marry her to some dumb person like you." Dad said jokingly while we all laughed and Sid cribbed a little.

After that, I just took The baby in my hands and went to Neil and whispered something in his ears and we both gave each other a smile before Neil started speaking.

"Hey Everyone, listen Since this cutie pie has officially become a part of our family... We can't just keep her calling baby." I said, gathering everybody's attention.

"Yaa, that's correct, we should name her, what would be the best name for her." Mom said.

"Yes, We both have decided, we'll name her..."  I said before giving Neil a smile, and we both said in unison

"Aksha"
