Chapter 8

Marriage Contract or a Love Proposal | ✔

Kiara

Never in my life had I thought that I'd agree to marry someone, let alone with a contract, but I agreed, just because I found it a win-win situation.

Agreeing to marriage just makes the path clear for Prisha to get married to the love of her life, as she says, and also my parents, who are just so happy since the time I told them that I went on a date and said yes to marriage.

Obviously, at first, they were angry as typical parents would be for not telling them about going on a date, then they were the ones convincing me, and now I'm getting married, so overall, they are happy.

And to add more good news on top of it, just now I received a call from Prishu saying she told the truth to her parents and Sid to his, and both of their parents have also agreed to their marriage. Obviously, neither of the parents nor anybody else knows about the contract; it's just between me and Mr. Khurana.

Furthermore, getting involved with someone isn't a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Everywhere there's just a happy atmosphere, and I'm more than happy about it.

The only thing left to do is sign the contract.

As I was thinking about it, I got a call from Mr. Khurana.

"Hey, Mr. Khurana!"

"Hello, Kiara."

"Mm-hmm, I see, first name basis." I said with a amused smile.

"Obviously we're going to get married, and I don't want anyone to get suspicious seeing us addressing each other so formally," he replied in an obvious tone.

"All right, Neil, why did you call? "I asked.

Now even I'm on a first-name basis.

"Care to tell?" I said, as I didn't hear anything for a minute.

"Surely, I called to say the contract is ready, so can you come to my office to sign it tomorrow?" He asked.

"I guess, I can. Address please?" I asked.

"Are you being serious right now?" he replied with a shocked tone.

"What happened?" I asked with confusion.

"You seriously don't know the address of Khurana Enterprises, The KHURANA ENTERPRISES." He said, his voice raising a little.

"No, it's not the Supreme Court or something that I should know the address of." I said, shrugging my shoulders.

"So I'll text you the address, fine?" He asked calming down a little.

"Of course. So, at what time shall I come?" I asked.

"Timing is something you can decide, but surely message me so I can fix your appointment." He said and I thought for a moment before replying,

"No need for me to message later; I'll come at 1 p.m.," I said.

"Lunch time, I see."

"Yup, no other free time." I said, sighing.

"Ok then, see you tomorrow at 1pm."

"Sure, Bye."

"Bye" He greeted back and hung up.

Hmm, so everything is on track.

Neil

When did life get so perfect, man?

Right now, everything is on track.

My marriage, though fake,  Sid's real marriage, and mom and dad's dream is coming true.

Everything is happening.

Only the contract, which I and Kiara will sign tomorrow, remains to be signed.

Kiara

Thinking of this girl, she's not your regular brat, but she's definitely too self-obsessed, but it's also a good thing, and the best thing is she's like a free soul, and I believe my mom and I surely will have a fight when she leaves after the contract gets over, but let's not think about a life one year later.

Honestly, all of this contract and everything came to mind when Sid asked me to marry her and told me that she said she doesn't want to marry anyone else; otherwise, I was planning on getting married in a real and trying to make it work.

But this contract is just the best part of our marriage, to be honest.

Though nobody except me and her knows about the contract, I'm just afraid of the day they'll come to know about it, but the rest of everything is perfect.

She'll come tomorrow to my office, sign the contract, and our parents will look after the rest.

My mom called me down for dinner as I was thinking about this, and let me tell you she has never called me down for dinner so excitedly.

"Neil beta (child), you told me that you're getting married to Prisha's best friend, and her name is Kiara, and we're definitely happy about it. Who do you think is going to give us the rest of the information, Sid?" I heard my mom ask with annoyance while serving me a plate.

"Oh, you surely can ask him, Mumma; I'm pretty sure he knows more about her than me; after all, she is his girlfriend's best friend." I said playfully while eating.

"I can certainly tell, Brother," he said, "but we'll be happier if we know everything you know about your wife-to-be, plus I can check how much you're correct." he said, giving Mother a hi-fi while Dad remained silent.

When did he become so silent at the dining table?

"Dad, is everything all right?" As soon as I said this, everyone turned to look at him, waiting for an answer.

"It's just Neil, I'm just thinking about how we found a different girl for you, you met her best friend, and now you're both getting married."

He was a great businessman, and I was sure he'd think about it thoroughly; however, just as I was about to respond, I heard my mother say,

"Let it be Harsh; we understand today's generation; we should be happy that our boy is marrying." Mom said, making dad come out of his serious zone.

Mothers always find a way to make everything short, without arguments.

"You're right, Disha, so, Neil, when we are getting a chance to meet our future daughter-in-law and in-law?" He asked. I am so happy that he is excited about it.

"I'll ask Kiara and inform you." I replied, and I hear my brother whistling.

With this, we all happily finished our dinner and called the day off.

Kiara

I'm standing in front of Khurana Enterprises, and it's 12:50 right now.

What perfect timing I have,

I enter the office through this large glass door,

I don't understand why all offices have this huge door. Who this tall is going to come to the office?

After entering, I went near the receptionist; she's a sweet girl, maybe 23 or 24, I guess.

Don't bash at me, people; I'm a lawyer, and scanning people involves most of my job.

"Hello ma'am, how may I help you?" She asked

"Hi, I'm here to meet Ne--Mr. Khurana."

We're still not married; it's fine if I'm not too much on a first-name basis.

"Do you have an appointment, ma'am?" She asks politely.

"I think so. Can you check, Kiara Mehra?" I said, wondering whether he forgot about the appointment.

"Sure, ma'am," she replied, checking the laptop screen.

"Yes, ma'am, you have an appointment; you can go to his cabin on the top floor; the lift is straight; then turn left; and I'll inform him that you're here." She informed.

After giving her a quick nod, I went and spotted an empty lift.

As previously stated, I have excellent timing. I entered the lift as I was about to click the top floor. I saw the number,

The hell, this building has 70 floors—are you kidding me?

What a view it will be from that floor!

I clicked the 70th button, and soon the lift reached the floor, and I got out of the lift.

Woah, this guy is rich; no wonder he was shocked when I asked for the address.

After this, I just went to the cabin straight in front of the lift that said "CEO."

I knocked on the door, and entered as I heard a "come in."

"Hello husband-to-be." I said playfully, cheering the very silent atmosphere.

"Hello, my future wife, please take a seat." he said, in the same tone as me.

As I sat on the chair exactly in front of him, I heard him ask "So, do you need anything? Tea, coffee, snacks?"

"No, only the contract." I said, bursting his excitement. Oh, the look on his face!

"Then the lunch. " and the excitement returned.

"Surely, so this is the contract." he said, taking some papers out of the file placed on his table.

I started reading the contract and found everything correct in it, so I quickly signed it and forwarded it to him, and he too signed it.

"So Mr. Khurana, or should I say, Neil, congratulations! You're getting married to the most amazing girl in the world." I said.

You can't blame me for being dramatic, I mean we are getting married with a contract, it's the most dramatic thing.

"Aren't you too full of yourself?" He questioned.

"I surely am, and now you have to live with me for at least a year." I said, with a look on my face that told him he has no way out.

"Of course I have to, so congratulations to you as well; you're going to marry the most handsome man." He said, copying my self appraisal style.

"Hmm, surely, so now on this occasion of our finally being ready to get married, I'll offer your lunch." I said, taking my purse from the table.

"Cool, let's go!" He said and we both started walking out.

"Let's go; I can't believe I'm getting married," I said dramatically.

"We are getting married," he corrected.
