Chapter nineteen: Honeymoon?
The billionaire's wife ✓ [Editing]
Elizabeth's POV
"To your honeymoon."
"Another one of your surprise. You have got to start asking me before you do anything." Charles said raising his voice a little.
"It's not us, you have Michael to thank on that one. He thought it would be better if it was a surprise since you were not planning on taking your wife for a honeymoon Charles."
"You don't have to pack anything, everything is already there for you. Hope you guys are ready, the car will be arriving soon."
Exactly after fifteen minutes, the car arrived. Thought-out the ride, no one dared say a word, I have to say the atmosphere was getting uncomfortable.
We took our plane tickets and passport before getting into the plane.
Charles was busy on his phone texting. Whoever it was he must have been enjoying the conversion by the smile he wore on his face. I plugged my earphones before finally falling asleep.
~*~*~
I was awakened by a tap on my shoulder, I open my eyes slowly to find that we had already arrived. Had I been sleeping for so long?
"We here," Charles whispered. I couldn't believe the view we were looking at. It was already dark here in Arniston, the city lights were absolutely beautiful. I atmosphere was much more calmer.
The taxi driver had already been waiting for us by the entrance. He took us straight to our hotel.
When we got at the reception to get our room number, we were escorted by a guy named Liam. He seemed quite friendly.
"If you need anything don't hesitate to call me." Were the exact words Liam had said before leaving.
Charles and I decided to take a quick tour of the house. It wasn't very big and it wasn't small either. It was an apartment near a lack, it was the perfect view. It had a small kitchen, a bathroom, a sitting room and one bedroom. By the structure of the house, I could see it was built for a 'real' couple. Near the bedside, there was a booklet which had information on anything you would possibly need to know about the hotel.
"You can take the bed, I'll sleep on the couch." He said pointing at a couch that was not so far away from the bed. I could see that he was exhausted, I felled bad about him sleeping on the couch but when I offered to sleep on the couch he insisted I sleep on the bed. He took an extra blanket that was in the cardboard. I watched as he slowly covered himself with the blanket. I went into the Barth room to change into my grey nightgown. When I can back he had already fallen asleep. He looked so peaceful in his sleep, he looked like the fun and selfless Charles I used to know.
I got into the blankets before finally falling asleep.
~*~*~
I was woken up early in the morning by loud snores. He had been snoring for the past hour and I couldn't take it anymore. I could feel my blood boiling. I throw a pillow at his head but that seemed like it didn't make any effort at all. I even screamed in his ears but still, it didn't work. That left me with the one last opposition I had. I went into the kitchen to get some ice blocks from the fridge in the kitchen. Something was telling not to do it but the other part wanted to see his reaction. I throw all the ice blocks that were in the tray and throw them inside his shirt.
He jumped off the couch he had been sleeping on, taking off his shirt allowing all the ice blocks to fall out of his shirt. I have to say I was loving this view much better. He was bold and had the body that could get any girl on their knees just by looking at him.
I was lost in my thoughts admiring his gorges body before I finally heard him scream.
"Are you out of your f**king mind."
Now I had done it, I pissed him off. I knew I shouldn't have done it but I just had to be stupid. I had pissed him off this time. Anger was written all over his eyes. I didn't dare say a word because I knew it would make him even angrier than he already was.
He left the room slamming the door behind him. I heard the sound of plates and knives in the kitchen, but I didn't want to upset him more than I already had.
Now that I was already awake I couldn't sleep anymore.
I went to take a quick shower then got dressed in my shirt and a pair of Jeans.
I sat on the bed and began watching 'The hitman's bodyguard' on the bedroom TV. I've never really been interested in watching TV but I have to say it's one of the best movies. It suddenly made me forget. Just as I was about to pick another movie I heard Charles yelling my name.
I followed his voice to where he was. He was standing in the kitchen placing some on the pots and plats that he had used into the zinc.
He had made breakfast for us. The whole table was filled with food.
"I didn't know what you liked so I made all of this."
I just gave him a small smile and sat down quietly. I grabbed myself a plat and took some blueberry pancakes. I didn't wanna fill my plate with food I was not going to be able to finish. Along with my pancakes, a poured a cup of orange juice.
"This is so good, how did you learn to cook like this?" I said moaning at the taste of the blueberry pancakes.
"I live alone, so eventually I had to learn how to cook. I'm gonna take a shower while you finish eating."
After finishing up my plate of food I took all the dishes and washed all of them up. It was the list I could for someone who just wasted all their time and energy to make me food. I placed all the food that had not been eaten into the fridge.
When I got into the sitting room Charles was already on his laptop. I didn't wanna bother him so I just sat on the other side of the couch. I grabbed a copy 'The fault in our stars' and began reading. I had read the book more than six times as well as watch the movie, but let's just say I was bored.
"Are you gonna sit there on your laptop the whole day." It had been more than an hour and I was getting bored.
"Yes, it's the only thing that's distracting me on doing things I don't want to do."
"Meaning?"
"You wouldn't understand even if I told you."
I went into the bathroom and got dressed into my two-piece swimsuit. I covered my body with a towel so I wouldn't feel too exposed.
"Where do you think you going?" He said lining on the door.
"I'm going to take a swim, I won't be long since you not interested in doing anything."
"Trust me I am." I just rolled my eyes at him and walked away.
I followed the map in the booklet they had given us about the place.
I laid on the beach chairs that were near the swimming pool and place my things along with my tower on the table next to it.
"What a pleasant surprise to see you, Mrs Greene."
"What a pleasant surprise to see you too Liam, you can call me Elizabeth."
He took his sit on my right-hand side and began talking. I have to say he was a much better company than Charles.
"I don't wanna seem offensive but you've been sitting here for more than thirty minutes, don't you have work to do."
"No actually I'm off today but since I don't have many friends here I decided to stick around."
"I moved here about two weeks ago but I'll be moving back to Manchester next week."
"So how did you end up here."
"Let's just say my parents wanted me to do something I was not comfortable with so I gave myself some distance." Finally, someone I can relate to except my story ends up differently.
We had been talking so much that I didn't realize how dark it was until Charles came.
"Wow, is this your idea of 'won't be long "
"I was on my way, and this is Liam the guy who helped us with our bags. " I said pointing at Liam.
"I know who he is. Anyways don't you have something to do like scribbling toilets or something."
"Charles don't be rude."
Before I could say anything else he pulled my arm.
"Charles you didn't have to be rude you know."
"Someone had to put him in his place, he was flirting with you."
"What if he was, it's not like you own me or something."
"Yes I do sweetheart and I'm gonna prove it to you."
Before I could say anything else he captured my lips with him. I placed my hand behind his neck pulling him closer to me. It was a rough and passionate kiss. After a while, his cell phone rang.
"You have to answer that."
"No I don't, I'll just call back later."
"What if it's important."
"Fine, I'll be right back."
"What, this better be important."
He answered the phone rudely.
After a while, his expression turned into a smile. I decided to leave him alone because now he was not only smiling but laughing. I guess maybe it was a friend.
After a while, he joined me in the sitting room where I was.
"Elie, I have to leave now, something argent just came up at work. You can stay here for as long as you want. If you need anything I left my credit card next to the nightstand."
"Do you really have to go?"
"Yes, see you at home." He said kissing me on the check. With the way he looked at me I could tell he was hiding something I just couldn't put my finger on what it was.
For those three days, I felt lonely even though I had Liam to keep me company.
