Chapter 1258
Always Been Yours
Nicholas grabbed the doctor by the collar and glared balefully at him as he roared. He was so agitated that even the veins on his forehead were throbbing.
The others were alarmed by Nicholasâ sudden outburst. Even the doctor turned pale in fright and his mind went blank. He didnât even think to struggle.
Thankfully, Kieran quickly snapped into action and hurried forward to talk some sense into his brother.
âNicholas, thereâs no use threatening the doctor now. You still need them to save Tessa.â
However, his words went unheeded. Nicholas kept glaring at the doctor with a murderous look in his eyes and refused to let go of the doctorâs coat.
At last, the doctor regained his senses too, though he still felt a little breathless.
âThereâs just not enough blood in the hospital, President Sawyer. Even if you threaten me, it doesnât change anything.â
The doctor tried to defend himself. Unfortunately, this only made Nicholas even more furious. âWhatâs the point of keeping you around if you canât even save her?â
It was as if Nicholasâ anger had taken a physical form. Kieran could tell that the doctor and the other medical staff nearby, including the nurses and specialists, were terrified.
To prevent Nicholas from scaring them silly, Kieran knocked him out with a heavy blow. âKieran! Why did you do that?â Stefania exclaimed when Nicholas fell unconscious.
Kieran hauled Nicholas up as he explained, âNicholas wouldâve lost control of himself if we let him carry on like that.â
Then, he turned to the petrified medical staff and yelled, âWhy are you still standing around? Hurry and save my sister-in-law! If anything happens to her, I can guarantee that you wonât be able to survive my brotherâs wrath.â
The doctors and nurses immediately hurried back into the surgical theater. The doors closed once more, and Kieran exhaled before moving Nicholas to a ward.
Nevertheless, Nicholas wasnât out for very long. He woke up again in just two hours. The first thing he did was did a kip-up off the bed.
Kieran was startled. He swiftly backed away as he hurriedly exclaimed, âDonât take it out on me, Nicholas. I only knocked you out for your own good. If you flew off the handle and scared all the doctors and nurses silly, then no one would be available to save Tessa.â
He eyed Nicholas furtively. Nicholas didnât bother with Kieran at all. He strode out of the ward at once and rushed back to the surgical theater.
Once he got there, he quickly asked, âHowâs Tessa? Did the doctors say anything when I was gone?â
âTessaâs still inside. No one came out yet.â Stefania answered truthfully as she knew her son was deeply worried.
Still, she couldnât help adding, âYou need to stay calm. Donât let your nerves get to you. All we can do now is wait until Tessa comes out.â Nicholas clenched his fists.
He knew his mother was right, but he couldnât calm himself down when Tessa was still fighting for her life. Stefania noticed this as well, so she said, âWhy donât you go and take a look at the newborn baby?
None of us have seen him yet. We donât know what he looks like!â
âIâm not leaving. Iâm going to stay here until Tessa comes out.â Nicholas shook his head to reject Stefaniaâs suggestion. He kept his gaze trained on the surgical theater.
Stefania wanted to try and advise him otherwise, but her husband stopped her âJust let him stay here,â
Tobias said quietly. âHeâll feel better if heâs here.â
Stefania seemed to have thought of something as she nodded and didnât say anything else, but she was shaken. It was her first time seeing just how deeply in love her son was. The surgery went on. It was already dark outside.
At last, after five or six hours, the surgery was finally over The medical team came out of the surgical theater looking exhausted. Everyone got to their feet and rushed over when they heard the commotion.
âHowâs my wife, doctor?â Nicholas was the first to ask anxiously.
