How to Train Your Dragon
...
Hey, lovelies! Before we begin, some changesâ Instead of (D/N) being called an Echo Angel, he's called a Dark Angel (:
And I changed his design a bit!
Here are the old ones:
And here is the new one:
So! Coloring is the same, black scales with white feathered wings that shimmer silver, your birthstone is embedded in his forehead, and his eye color is whatever you want it to be! â¤ï¸ He can camouflage and turn invisible, he has great hearing and strength, and his feathered wings are fireproof from the silver dusting coating them.
You can use whichever version you prefer, or totally imagine him different! The story is yours :)
That's all! Anyway, here's the same boring message in all my republished stories:
...
Soooo... hey, lovelies! Wattpad decided to ban my OneArtsyGamer03 account... which is so great am I right
*cries*
It's fine! Totally fine. Right now, I'm just focusing on republishing all my old stories. They will be left unedited, as I'm going to be publishing new, fresh versions of these stories anyway so there's not really any point in editing these ones. I just wanna get them back up for you all to find.
That being said, I will not be editing anything or fixing anything in these old stories since I'm writing up new better versions of these anyway! So I'm just gonna be copying and pasting the chapters, leaving in all author notes and everything. <3
Also! I'm also going to be copying this message into all my old stories so if you see it again that's why.
Anyway... Welcome home, lovelies <3
...
..
.
Hey there lovelies owo
New story and new adventure for you! This time with that lovable dork Hiccup :3 â¤
The soundtrack for this movie is just ðð sO AMAZING
Sooo just a few things!
You will get a dragon, but it's not any in the movie. You'll see what it is soon!
I'm so sorry to disappoint anyone that wanted a Light Fury or Night Fury, and I hope you'll still read my story!
Annnd also in case you didn't read the description, you were taken in by Astrid's family about a year ago because your parents went on the mission to find the Dragon's Nest and never came back.
Astrid isn't too fond of you right now because she isn't used to you
... I make your parents die in a lot of stories...
That's unfortunate °-° and I apologize
But needed for the plot!
I think that covers everything for right now! Onto the story! â¤â¤

Third Person P.O.V
"This... is Berk." A boy speaks with a heavy sigh, not fond of the place.
Mist shrouds dark waters as it leads up to a tall mountain.
"It's twelve days north of hopeless and a few degrees south of freezing to death."
Tall pillars with Viking helmets stand with small flames flickering inside of them, acting as some sort of lighthouse.
"It's located solidly on the Meridian of Misery."
A small village was revealed, sheep lazily grazing the fields nearby.
"My village. In a word, sturdy. It's been here for seven generations, but every single building is new."
The wooden buildings stand tall, the night sky above clear and the stars dancing with the moonlight.
"We have fishing, hunting, and a charming view of the sunsets. The only problem..."
A sheep chews the grass with a bored expression, when suddenly it was whisked away.
"... Are the pests."
The other sheep watches with a bored expression, waddling and grazing on the grass his friend once was.
"You see... most places have mice or mosquitoes. We have..."
Hiccup opens his door to people yelling, making him pause before gasping as a dragon sees him. He swiftly slams the door just as it breathes fire at him.
"... Dragons!" He finishes, breathing heavily with wide eyes.
"Most people would leave. Not us."
Dragons spew fire and swoop down, stealing sheep. A man gasps and races to the dragon, grabbing the sheep as it carries them off.
"We're Vikings. We have... stubbornness issues."
A dragon bites down on the leg of a Viking, who simply punches its face in response before it lets him go.
Hiccup races out of his burning house, looking back at it before rushing ahead with a grin.
"My name is Hiccup."
The Viking lands in front of him, making him jump and try to dodge others as they run past.
"Great name, I know. But... It's not the worst."
Vikings carrying a large log walk past, making Hiccup duck as he rushes past them. A Viking looks after him, his head getting hit with the log a result of this.
"Parents believe a hideous name will frighten off gnomes and trolls."
Hiccup cringes as he watches the Viking knock out before gasping as he was shoved. He turns around with a yelp as a fire ball was blasted near him, making him fall backwards.
"Like our charming Viking demeanor wouldn't do that."
"AHH!" A Viking screams as he looks down at Hiccup, his beard on fire as he suddenly smiles cheerfully. "Mornin'!"
Hiccup races through the village, looking for any way to help.
"What are you doing here?!"
"Get inside!"
Vikings scold the boy, but he ignores them as he runs on towards his destination.
"What are you doing out?!"
"Get back inside!"
Hiccup looks back as he runs, yelping as the collar of his shirt was suddenly snatched as a dragon flew by where he once was. A tall, burly man with a large ginger beard glares at him with sharp, pale green eyes.
"Hiccup! What is he doing out again--" Stoick sighs, angrily pointing to Hiccup and looking around before glaring back at him. "What are you doing out?! Get inside!" He shoves Hiccup along before looking around with cold eyes.
"That's Stoick the Vast... Chief of the tribe."
He watches a dragon fly off with a sheep, making him sneer.
"They say when he was a baby, he popped a dragon's head clean off its shoulders."
Stoick grabs a catapult, hurling it at the dragon. It smacks against the creature, making it cry out and drop the sheep as it stumbles in the air.
"Do I believe it? Yes, I do."
"What have we got?" Stoick demands as he turns around, sighing heavily.
"Gronckles, Nadders, Zipplebacks," the man replies as he looks around warily. "Oh, and Hoark saw a Monstrous Nightmare."
He yelps and blocks his head with his shield as blast of fire explods near him, some flames landing on Stoick's shoulder as he remains stoic as ever.
"Any Night Furies?" Stoick demands lowly, keeping an eye on the sky.
"None so far," the man replies as he shakes his head, peeking up at him from under his shield.
"Good," Stoick nods, dusting the flame off his shoulder plate as if it was dirt.
...
"Hoist the torches!" A man yells, and others quickly raise up the tall torches as they light them on fire.
The dragons roar as they swerve to avoid them, the flames illuminating off their scales.
...
Hiccup runs into the blacksmith with small panting breaths, quickly shrugging off his fur vest.
"Oh! Nice of you to join the party!" Gobber calls sarcastically and snickers as he hammers a blade. "I thought you'd been carried off!"
"What-- Who, me?" Hiccup questions with a grin and a raised brow as he ties on his apron, shaking his head. "No, come on! I'm way too muscular for their taste." He grunts, struggling to lift a hammer and he sets it down where it goes on the wall. "They wouldn't know what to do with... all this!"
He gestures to himself and poses with a grin as Gobber snorts, rolling his eyes as he switches his hammer hand.
"Well, they need tooth picks, don't they?"
Hiccup ignores him, opening up the blacksmith window and was bombarded by Vikings. They shove weapons at him, making him nod as he lifts them up and quickly begins working on them.
"The meathead with attitude and interchangeable hand is Gobber. I've been his apprentice ever since I was little. Well... littler."
Hiccup struggles to fan at the hot blades, using all his weight to raise and lower the fan..
...
"Move to the lower defenses!" Stoick instructs sternly as he looks around. "We'll counterattack with the catapults."
The Vikings all run along the scaffolding, moving down lower as dragons continue to burn their homes.
"See? Old village, lots and lots of new houses."
Many carry the sheep down the hill to protect them from the dragons, the sheep all bleating with fear.
"Fire!" A man yells, alerting the group on standby as he points to the massive wall of flames engulfing a house.
...
"All right, let's go!" Astrid shouts as she wheels a cart of water, other following after her.
"Right behind you!" (Y/N) replies, Astrid ignoring her in response and rolling her eyes with a hint of exasperation.
Hiccup perks up, quickly peeking over the window at them as they run by.
"That's Fishlegs," a chubby boy with blonde hair and a panicked expression runs around with a bucket.
"Snotlout," a more confident guy with black hair runs off with a bucket and a determined expression.
"The twins, Ruffnut and Tuffnut," an identical boy and girl with pale blonde hair fight over a bucket, yelling at each other as they shove one another.
"Astrid," a girl with blonde hair and piercing blue eyes sighs sharply and quickly instructs (Y/N) before running along with her empty bucket.
"And..."
(Y/N) quickly rushes ahead with her bucket towards the fire, dousing some of the flames as another fire blast was fired near her.
"... (Y/N)."
She shakes the ashes out of her (H/C), sighing softly and running a hand through her wild locks as she looks around with a faint smile.
Hiccup watches from the blacksmith window with a love-sick expression, smiling softly at the sight of her as she joins Astrid and the others.
"She is... incredible. And has been my best friend for years now. She's the only one that's really accepted me as me."
He longingly watches as she rushes after the others before smiling and waving at Hiccup, making him grin and sheepishly wave back.
"Ugh. Her job is so much cooler."
He starts to climb out of the window to go after her, gasping and sighing as Gobber uses his welding hand to grab the back of his shirt and pull him back in.
"Oh, come on! Let me out, please!" Hiccup begs, groaning as he remains dangling in the air. "I need to make my mark!"
Gobber sets him down with a raised brow, "Oh, you've made plenty of marks. All in the wrong places." He points all over Hiccup.
"Please, two minutes. I'll kill a dragon!" Hiccup paces before he faces Gobber, "my life will get infinitely better. I might even get (Y/N) to go on a date with me!"
Gobber bellows a laugh, shaking his head. "You can't lift a hammer, you can't swing an axe, you can't even throw one of these!"
He holds up a bola, a Viking snatching it and grunting as he throws it at a dragon. It wraps around a Gronkle, making it fall from the sky.
"Okay, fine. But this will throw it for me!" Hiccup replies, patting his new invention and gasping as it was set off.
The two bolas fly through the air, Gobber and a Viking dodging them before both smack another in the face and knocks him out.
"See? Now this right here is what I'm talking about!" Gobber sighs as he stomps towards Hiccup.
"M-Mild calibration issue, and since two bolas are shot there's a greater chance at hitting my target--"
"Don't you know-- Hiccup!" Gobber interrupts the boy, startling him. "If you ever want to get out there to fight dragons and impress the lass, you need to stop all..."
He gestures around before motioning to all of Hiccup.
"... This."
Hiccup looks down at himself with a scoff, "But you just pointed to all of me!"
"Yes! That's it," Gobber nods, firmly waving his hand horizontally. "Stop being all of you."
"Oh," Hiccup drags the word with a raised brow, glaring at Gobber.
"Oh, yes," Gobber mimics, his expression the same as he nods.
"Y--You, sir, are playing a dangerous game." Hiccup warns, wagging his finger at Gobber. "And! And-- (Y/N) happens to like all me!" He huffs as he gestures to himself, Gobber snickering and shaking his head as he sets his hands on his hips. "And... keeping this much... Raw... Vikingness... Contained? There will be consequences!"
"The lass hasn't shown any sign of interest in you," Gobber replies in a bored tone as Hiccup deflates. "And I'll take my chances," he turns away, grabbing a sword. "Sword. Sharpen. Now."
Hiccup grunts as he catches the blade as Gobber dumps it in his arms, making him huff as he turns and starts sharping it.
"One day, I'll get out there..." He glares in determination at the sparks flying from the blade. "Because killing a dragon... is everything around here."
...
Nadders flock together, jumping on and off the roof of a house, looking for prey.
The spikes on their tail were deadly, the horns and spikes on their round large faces the same.
"A Nadder head is sure to get me at least noticed."
Down below, large, bulky round dragons with small welts on their bodies destroy weapon stands.
Their wings were much too small for their body, but they still somehow managed to fly with minimal issues. One of the dragons bites the weapon stand, carrying it off.
"Gronckles are tough. Taking down one of those would definitely possibly get (Y/N) to date me."
Near the Nadders, a long-neck dragon peers inside a hole on the roof of the house, spraying a green gas.
"A Zippleback?"
Another loops around the side, busting the door open and sparks fly from its mouth, setting the gas aflame as it explodes.
It flies off, revealing a green dragon with two heads, a large horn on each of the noses.
"Exotic. Two heads, twice the status."
"They found the sheep!" A man yells to Stoick, making him silently curse and nod.
"Concentrate fire over the lower bank!" He orders, making his men nod and get to work.
"Fire!" A man yells, and the catapult launched the boulder, striking down a Nadder stealing a sheep.
"And then there's the Monstrous Nightmare..."
Stoick gasp softly, on full alert as a shadow flies past him.
"Only the best Vikings go after those."
He looks down, met with bright orange flames and a blazing hot heat.
"They have this... nasty habit of setting themselves on fire."
A red dragon bursts from the flames, its body on fire. It puffs smoke at Stoick, the men gasping.
"Reload!" Stoick firmly says, making them nod with uncertainty. "I'll take care of this." He grunts, smirking as he holds his hammer.
He swings it, knocking the hammer in the dragon's face multiple times as it snarls at him.
"But the ultimate prize is the dragon no one's ever seen."
The Monstrous Nightmare looks up, fleeing as Stoick stares at the dark sky with wild eyes, that familiar deadly sound echoing in the sky.
...
Hiccup looks up at the sound, pausing from sharpening the blade.
"We call it the--"
...
"Night Fury!" A man bellows fearfully, followed by a, "get down!"
Everyone ducks under their shields, a blast going off near them as another one erupted a little ways off.
Two catapults side by side to one another on the tower were destroyed, two dark shadows flying swiftly overhead.
"Jump!" Stoick shouts, the men swiftly doing so as the platform was enveloped by flames.
...
Hiccup looks up at the sky, gasping softly at the same sound.
"This thing never steals food, never shows itself, and..."
Another blast was fired, quickly followed by another. Together, the two deadly fireballs completely destroy the catapult towers.
"Never misses. It always strikes twice, but no one knows how." Hiccup leans back up with a flinch at the sight of the destroyed towers. "No one has ever killed a Night Fury. That's why I'm gonna be the first."
He nods to himself in determination, walking over to his invention as Gobber grunts, removing his hand for a hammer.
"Man the fort, Hiccup. They need me out there," Gobber instructs, pausing and looking back at Hiccup. "Eh..." He trails off, leaning out of the door and snagging (Y/N) by the back of her shirt just as she ran by.
She yelps with alarm and flails for a moment, sighing heavily as Gobber pulls her inside and shoves her towards Hiccup. He quickly catches her, stabling her with a nervous grin as she stands up straight.
"There we go. (Y/N), make sure he doesn't do anything." Gobber instructs as he leaves, pausing. "Stay. Put." He pauses, nodding. "... There."
(Y/N) blows some hair from her face, her eyebrow raising as she grins. "So we can't go anywhere? Like... move to sharpen the blades, or fan the fire, or weld the--"
"You know what I mean!" Gobber interrupts with a huff as Hiccup snickers softly, (Y/N) grinning and nodding.
Gobber nods back, letting out a war cry as he runs off.
"... So what do you have planned, Hiccup?" She grins, turning to him as he brightens up with a wide smile.
...
"Where are you two going?" A man demands as the boy and girl race between them.
Hiccup rows his invention as (Y/N) follows with a light laugh, excited to see what it does.
"Yeah, I know! Be right back!" Hiccup shouts, nearly stumbling.
"Hiccup! (Y/N)!" Someone else angrily yells.
"Yep! Just one moment, sir!" (Y/N) yells, running backwards for a moment before running normally.
...
Nadders surround a small herd of sheep, making them bleat in fear.
"Let's get them!"
Stoick yells as he tosses netting over the sheep and Nadders, making them frantically spew fire. Stoick swiftly grabs the face of a spewing Nadder, slamming its jaw shut.
"Mind yourselves!" He yells, slamming its head to the ground as it struggles. "The Devils still have some juice in them!"
...
Hiccup wheels his cart to a cliffside, (Y/N) panting lightly and pausing for a moment to catch her breath before jogging to meet him as he sets up his contraption.
The crossbow-like machine was now completely opened, and ready for firing as Hiccup aimed it.
The two look up at the night sky, (Y/N)'s lip curling up in uncertainty as she looks between the machine and the sky.
"Come on, give me something to shoot at. Give me something to shoot off," Hiccup quietly chants, glancing at (Y/N) every so often.
"Are you sure about... this?" (Y/N) whispers, making him pause for a moment and look down. "I mean... are you ready?"
A roar in the distance makes Hiccup perk up, (Y/N) jumping slightly and looking towards the night sky. She squints lightly, Hiccup doing the same as two silhouettes could be seen among the stars.
A moment later, the familiar sound of the Night Fury swooping could be heard, making (Y/N) gasp and Hiccup take aim.
A blast was fired, followed by another one as two silhouettes fly over the flames. Hiccup blindly shoots, yelping as he was tossed back from the recoil. Another bola was soon fired from the machine, flying after the other. (Y/N) rushes to his side, helping him sit up as the two watch the bolas fly through the air.
The same sound of the Night Fury swooping was heard, and a moment later, roars of pain echoed through the sky. Hiccup pants lightly as he watches his prize fall from the sky towards the forest.
"Oh... my..." (Y/N) opens and closes her mouth repeatedly, blinking rapidly. "You just... You hit it!"
"I hit it... Yes, I hit it!" Hiccup cheers as (Y/N) slightly laughs, clapping for him as he bows.
"You hit it! It worked!" (Y/N) laughs, looking back at the machine before freezing as her smile falls, her face paling.
"That was awesome! You saw, right, (Y/N)?" Hiccup jumps in excitement and spins around, "did anyone else see that?!"
"H--Hiccup!" She yells as the Monstrous Nightmare climbs up the hill, crushing the contraption.
Hiccup swiftly turns, his smile dropping as he slumps, "Except for you."
He grabs (Y/N)'s hand, racing away as it roars loudly at the two of them.
...
Stoick turns at the sound of roaring, watching as Hiccup and (Y/N) race down the hill as a Monstrous Nightmare follows closely, snapping at them.
He groans with an exhausted sigh, rising from his spot as he glares at the Nadders before racing to their aid.
"Do not let them escape!"
"Right!"
...
(Y/N) yells as Hiccup yanks her towards him as fire was spewed her way, Hiccup gasping and nearly tripping over himself as they continue running.
He wraps an arm around her shoulder, the two ducking as more fire was blasted at them.
Hiccup pulls her behind a wide pillar, holding her to his chest as both pant heavily from exhaustion. Fire was spewed at them, the pillar blocking them as both scream in fear and huddle close to each other.
She looks up at him as he looks down at her, fear in his eyes as he gulps. He slowly begins peering around the pillar, (Y/N) gasping and screaming as the Monstrous Nightmare's face rounds the other side, inches from her face.
...
Astrid looks up at her scream, her eyes narrowed when she sees the two before gasping.
...
Stoick yells as he punches the Monstrous Nightmare away from the two, rolling and landing on his feet as the dragon recovers and roars at him.
He adjusts his helmet while glaring at the dragon, smirking as it tries to spew fire at him, only for small flames to come out before he burps with a fearful chirp.
"You're all out." Stoick rolls his shoulders, swiftly punching the Monstrous Nightmare in the face.
The dragon backs away as he was kicked and punched with great force, Stoick's assault relentless.
It soon turns back, quickly retreating with one final roar.
"Oh. And there's... One more thing you need to know."
Stoick turns back to the pole, watching as it crumbles and collapses, revealing Hiccup and (Y/N).
The torch falls over, making a man scream as it begins rolling down the hill. Both flinch as it crashes, followed by a woman screaming, then a man screaming, then another crash, and another person screaming. (Y/N) winces and rubs the back of her neck, her and Hiccup exchanging a nervous look.
"I--I'm so sorry, Chief Stoick," (Y/N) quickly apologizes, bowing slightly and clearing her throat. "Thank you for... for saving us."
Stoick remains stoic, simply grunting in response before his gaze flickers to Hiccup.
"... Sorry, Dad." Hiccup apologizes, looking anywhere but at Stoick.
