Chapter 981
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

After flushing the toilet and sanitizing the area, Belinda moved sluggishly toward the sink.
She lifted her gaze to the mirror, only to be met with her own pale face.
She hadnât expected the medicationâs side effects to hit her this fast.
And this⦠was only the beginning.
After washing her hands, she finally opened the bathroom door and stepped out.
Bethany was waiting. The moment she saw Belinda, she rushed forward to steady her. âBelinda, are you okay? What happened? What made you throw up?â
Belinda replied, âItâs nothing serious. Just a reaction to the preventive meds.â
Bethanyâs expression darkened. She hadnât expected the side effects to be this severe.
Seeing Belinda so weak and pale, Bethanyâs chest tightened.
During dinner, Belinda barely touched her food. After a few small bites, she set her fork down.
âBelinda, are you not eating anymore?â Holley asked, her tone laced with concern.
Belinda shook her head. âI really canât eat anymore. You guys can continue without me.â
âIâm finished, too,â Bethany announced. Pushing back her chair, she stood. âCome on, Iâll go upstairs with you, Belinda.â
She glanced at Holley. âCould you handle the cleanup for us?â
âOf course, you two go ahead.â Holley nodded.
After helping Belinda back to her room, Bethany made an excuse about forgetting something and slipped downstairs again.
As she neared the dining area, she halted. Through the doorway, she spotted Holleyâgloves on, a mask covering her face.
Holley wasnât just clearing the dishes; she was spraying them down with alcohol disinfectant.
Then, to Bethanyâs shock, Holley tossed every single plate Belinda had used straight into the trash. Bethanyâs breathing grew heavier.
But what came next made her chest burn with anger.
Holley, without hesitation, began spraying alcohol directly onto Belindaâs chairâthe spot where she had just been sitting.
It seemed Holley thought Belinda was a contagion, and every place she had touched needed to be scrubbed clean.
Bethany clenched her jaw, her fists curling tightly at her sides. Rage surged through her.
She was just about to storm in and confront Holley when a figure walked past her.
Belinda strode past Bethany and entered the dining room.
Bethany froze, her eyes widening.
She hadnât noticed Belindaâs presence earlier at all.
Across the room, Holleyâs face changed instantly the moment she caught sight of Belinda.
A flicker of panic crossed her eyes. âBelinda, you⦠Why are you back?â she blurted out, her voice unsteady.
