Chapter 961
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Lucas sat up slowly, stretching his stiff neck and shoulders with a slight wince.
âI was worried you might wake up in the middle of the night and get scared to find yourself alone.â
Belinda lowered her gaze, feeling a rush of warmth at his words as she murmured softly, âThank you.â
Lucas raised an eyebrow, his expression amused.
âThatâs it? Just a âthank youâ? My shoulders and neck are aching, you know.â
Belinda threw back the covers and got out of bed, casting him a sideways glance.
âWell then⦠You can get a massage to ease the pain. I will pay for that.â
For a brief moment, Lucas was caught off guard by her suggestion. Then, with a chuckle, he said, âNo need for that. How about you treat me to lunch today instead?â
Belinda pouted but eventually relented, saying, âFine.â
Lucas was satisfied with her answer. After dropping Belinda off at the Grand Plains General Hospital, he made his way to his company. He had just gotten inside his office when Gordon entered.
âMr. Clark, our team has reanalyzed Macieâs blood sample. The results confirm she is indeed HIV-positive,â Gordon said.
Lucas gave a slight nod.
ð¤ðªðµð·ð¸ð¿ð®ðµð¼.ð¬ð¸ð¶ â more stories here Gordon then set a folder on the desk.
âThis contains everything weâve uncovered on Rhys.â
As Lucas skimmed through the documents, his brows arched slightly. So⦠this was the reason behind Minnaâs hatred for Rhys.
Setting down the file, Lucas looked up at Gordon, his brow furrowed in thought.
âDig deeper into Macieâs abduction. We need to find the person who abducted her before. And also, increase the speed of our investigation into the person helping Minna in secret.â
âYes, Mr. Clark,â Gordon replied.
Just then, Lucas retrieved a small bag and handed it to Gordon.
âThis contains strands of Belindaâs hair.â
After a pause, Lucas continued, âObtain a sample from Holley. Then run a paternity test between them.â
Gordon froze. A paternity test?
Was Lucas suspecting that Belinda wasnât Holleyâs biological daughter? Though a storm of questions surged in his mind, Gordon refrained from voicing them. He simply nodded.
âUnderstood.â
