Chapter 938
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

âDevin, take her home. I will be worried if she goes back on her own.â
âI donât wish to impose on Devin. Iââ Belinda began to protest. Before she could finish her sentence, the butler suddenly entered the dining area with an air of urgency.
âMr. Clark has arrived.â
As he announced this, a tall and commanding figure strode into the room.
Lucasâ sharp gaze immediately found Belinda before shifting briefly to Nigel and Devin.
âNigel, Devin,â Lucas greeted them with a slight nod, his voice steady.
âLucas, youâre here. Have you eaten? Join us for something,â Nigelâs face brightened with a welcoming smile.
âThank you, Nigel, but Iâve already had dinner. I came here to pick up Belinda,â Lucas said politely.
Then he turned to Belinda, his voice softening unconsciously, âAre you done eating?â
Belinda nodded and rose gracefully from her seat. Before departing, she turned to Nigel and Devin, offering a courteous farewell.
âThank you for your hospitality this evening.â
Given the circumstances, Nigel had no choice but to nod in acknowledgment.
âAlright then, go home safely.â
Together, Belinda and Lucas exited the estate, walking side by side into the cool evening air.
As he watched them leave, Devin felt a profound ache deep in his chest, as though invisible knives were slowly carving into his heart. Observing his grandsonâs pain, Nigel sighed internally, a weight of helplessness settling upon him.
Belindaâs stance was clear. What would happen next was entirely in his grandsonâs hands now. Would he persist or finally let go?
During the drive back, Lucas inquired after a moment of silence, âWhat was Nigelâs true motive for inviting you for dinner?â
âThey expressed apologies on Carmelitaâs behalf regarding the previous incident,â Belinda replied calmly.
Lucas remained skeptical, his brows furrowing slightly as he processed her words.
âIs that all?â
âWhat else would there possibly be?â Belinda replied.
Lucasâ eyebrows knitted together in thought. It was hard for him to believe that Nigel hadnât mentioned the matter of Devin at all during dinner. Yet, since Belinda clearly wished to avoid discussing it, he chose not to press her any further.
Just then, their phones rang simultaneously with incoming notifications.
Belinda checked hers first; the message was from Johnson, inviting her to the Dream Club.
