Chapter 92
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Belinda paused upon hearing that, falling silent for a while. Her feelings toward Carola were anything but simple; respect, gratitude, and admiration were all tangled together in her heart. Carola had been the only one in the Wright family who believed she hadnât stolen Kyleeâs necklace.
But that didnât mean she would compromise, not even for Carola. When it came to matters of principle, Belindaâs resolve was firm. âNo matter what, I will never apologize to Kylee,â Belinda said firmly, her voice cutting through the air.
After a brief pause, she added, âIt doesnât matter who asks me to do that. The answer will always be the same.â
Bethany nodded, her agreement resolute. âExactly! You didnât do anything wrong, so why apologize? If you give in, itâll only encourage Kylee to keep pushing your boundaries.â
At Kyleeâs name, Belinda slightly furrowed her brows in resignation. Lately, Kyleeâs behavior had grown shamelessly intolerable.
Just as Belinda was about to say something, Bethany suddenly nudged her, gesturing toward the upper floor. âIsnât that Lucas and his friends?â
Belindaâs gaze followed Bethanyâs gesture, landing on the booth where Lucas and his group sat. Her expression darkened. Right now, Verena was clinging to Lucasâ arm, swaying it slightly. Lucas leaned in, speaking to her in a low voice.
Belindaâs sharp eyes narrowed. So, Verena had really decided to ignore her warnings. Very well, thenâ¦
Bethany bristled beside Belinda, her indignation palpable. âWhat is Verena doing? Has she no shame?â
Belinda rose from the sofa, her demeanor calm. âCome with me, Bethany. Letâs see whatâs going on there.â
Bethanyâs eyes lit up with anticipation. âOkay, letâs go!â
Verena was clearly drunk now.
âVerena? Are you okay?â Lucas asked, giving Verena a gentle nudge.
Eyes closed, Verena pouted like a child. âDonât bother meâ¦â
âIâm sleeping⦠Just let me sleepâ¦â she murmured, clinging tightly to Lucasâ arm.
Ryan sighed, his voice filled with resignation. âJust let her lean on you for a while. She has been in a bad mood these past few days.â
Lucas frowned, about to respond, when a sharp, melodious voice cut through the scene.
âWell, well, well⦠Whatâs Miss Reed doing here?â
The group in the room turned to see Belinda and Bethany approaching.
Vincent, caught off guard, stammered, âUh⦠Verenaâs drunk.â
Bethanyâs lips curled into a derisive sneer. âSince she is drunk, you should send her home now. Whatâs this? Does being drunk give her the right to cling to someone elseâs husband?â
Vincentâs expression grew slightly awkward. Belinda was Lucasâ wife, and Verenaâs current behavior, whether intentional or not, was undeniably out of line.
âShe is drunk and completely unaware of what sheâs doing. How could she possibly know better?â Ryan jumped in, quick to defend Verena.
