Chapter 893
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

As soon as the question was posed, the entire room fell silent. All eyes shifted to Turner, awaiting his response.
Turnerâs expression darkened. He remained silent, his jaw clenched as he worked through his thoughts, trying to formulate a response.
But before he could say a word, the hospital director suddenly interjected, âDr. Ortiz, go retrieve the patientâs medical record that Dr. Wright gave you.â
At the directorâs command, Turner stiffened. Behind him, Kylee, who had been sitting quietly, also tensed.
About half a minute later, Turner finally reacted. He let out a low, humorless chuckle before saying, âIâm afraid thatâs not possible. I canât provide Bradenâs medical record.â
His words were met with immediate confusion.
âYou canât? What do you mean you canât?â
âWhatâs going on?â
The other doctors started whispering among themselves.
The director frowned, his expression hardening.
âWhy is that?â
Turner turned his gaze toward Belinda and, without hesitation, declared, âBecause Dr. Wright never gave me Bradenâs medical record in the first place.â
The conference room plunged into a stunned silence.
For several beats, no one spoke. Then, the whispers started.
âWhat is he saying? That she never handed over the record?â
âOh, come on, isnât it obvious? It means Dr. Wright lied! She never gave Dr. Ortiz the medical record, so he had no way of knowing the patient had fragile tissue before the surgery!â
âThat canât be right! No competent doctor would withhold such crucial information!â
âWhy wouldnât she? Dr. Ortiz took several of her patients, and maybe she held a grudge! Thatâs why she did that! She might think that even if she didnât hand over the record, Dr. Ortiz wouldâve still run a full examination before the surgery. He would have found out about the patientâs condition himself. But the problem is, no one expected the patientâs tissue to be that fragile. Thatâs why the situation spiraled out of control.â
âIf this is true, then Dr. Wrightâs actions were completely⦠unethical.â The person had almost called Belinda âmaliciousâ but bit their tongue at the last second.
The confusion in the room deepened. The hospital directorâs frown grew more pronounced as he turned his focus to Belinda.
âDr. Wright, how do you respond to this?â
Belindaâs reaction was one of pure disbelief, as if she had just heard the most ridiculous statement imaginable. Instead of answering the directorâs question, she turned to Turner, her tone laced with incredulity.
âI didnât give you Bradenâs medical records?â she asked. She paused for a brief moment before continuing, âDr. Ortiz, are you absolutely sure about that?â
