Chapter 881
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Kenia regarded him earnestly.
âRegardless, we owe you an immense debt. If you ever require my assistance in the future, as long as I am able, I wonât hesitate to help.â
Lucas believed he would need Keniaâs help in the future, so he didnât turn it down.
After a brief pause, he turned to Belinda.
âWhy donât you and the others step outside for a moment? I need to have a private conversation with Kenia.â
Belinda glanced at him, her expression unreadable for a moment before she nodded silently and exited the room with Holley and Sarai. Before leaving, Sarai shot Lucas a lingering glance, seemingly reluctant to leave.
Belinda noticed this, and her eyes flickered slightly.
Inside the room, Lucas asked Kenia, âWhen did Belinda start gaining weight?â
If he wanted to uncover the truth regarding whether Belinda had been administered hormones during her childhood, he needed to assemble the puzzle piece by pieceâperhaps the details would unveil a crucial clue. At the very least, he trusted Keniaâhe believed she genuinely cared for Belinda and would provide him with honest answers.
Upon hearing Lucasâ inquiry, Kenia appeared momentarily caught off guard. But after taking a moment to collect her thoughts, she replied, âI would say she started gaining weight around the age of five. Initially, neither Holley nor I thought much of it; after all, Belinda had quite an appetiteâwe assumed it was typical childhood behavior. However, as time went on and she grew older, her weight began to increase at an alarming rate. This prompted us to take her for medical examinations.â
After a pause, she continued, âBut the doctors didnât identify any issues; they simply stated she was growing well and sleeping soundlyâweight gain was natural at that age. They advised us to ensure she received adequate nutrition without placing her on any restrictive diets. Just manage her portions slightly and encourage more physical activity.â
Her tone turned thoughtful as she added, âWe followed their recommendations diligently. We tried our best to regulate her food intake; yet despite our efforts, Belinda continued to eat voraciously and kept gaining weight. We brought her in for numerous check-ups over the years; however, each time the doctors consistently assured us that everything was fine. Over time, Holley and I convinced ourselves there was no underlying issue. It wasnât until Belinda returned from overseas and brought it up herself that we discoveredâthe whole time, it had been about hormones!â
Lucas didnât respond right away. He let Keniaâs words settle, his thoughts running through the possibilities. Then, after a brief pause, he finally spoke.
âDid it never strike you as odd that Belindaâs weight gain seemed unnatural? Did you ever consider the possibility that she was being poisoned?â
Keniaâs expression grew serious, and she pressed her lips together.
âWe did have our doubts,â she admitted, her voice low.
âBut after so many medical tests, the doctors assured us there was nothing unusual. They said everything was within normal limits, so what were we supposed to do? As for poison? That never even crossed our minds. Holley and I have always been the ones taking care of Belinda, especially Holley.â
