Chapter 879
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

âBelindaâs weight gain wasnât natural. She was fed hormones from childhood. Mr. Wright, who do you think was responsible for that?â
Baker swallowed hard, his throat suddenly dry.
âI have no idea! When Belinda was a kid, I didnât even know she existed.â
His face remained neutral, but inside, unease twisted in his gut. He had a nagging feeling that Lucas was deliberately testing him. And facing a man as powerful as Lucas, he knew better than to let his guard down.
âI see,â Lucas said. Fortunately, Lucas didnât push the matter further. He gave a small nod.
âIâm tired,â he said simply, clearly dismissing Baker and Kylee.
Baker and Kylee understood him immediately.
Baker quickly stood up.
âMr. Clark, we will leave now. Get some rest and recover soon.â
Lucas didnât acknowledge him and didnât even glance their way.
Baker turned and exited the room, with Kylee following close behind.
As soon as they stepped outside, Kylee spoke up.
âDad, you can go back. Iâm heading back to my department.â
Baker nodded and left.
Kylee pressed her lips together, hesitating. She wanted to use this chance to see Lucas again. Now that Lucas was alone in his hospital room, wasnât this the ideal opportunity for her to talk to him properly?
But before Kylee could take a step, she saw Belinda step out from around the corner ahead.
The moment Kylee saw Belinda, her expression turned cold.
âDamn it! Why was this bitch back so soon?â
Belinda arched an eyebrow slightly at the sight of Kylee. With graceful steps, she walked toward Kylee.
âWhat are you doing here?â she asked.
Kylee replied, âMy dad and I came to see Mr. Clark.â
Belinda didnât bother responding. She simply walked past Kylee, heading straight for Lucasâ hospital room.
âStop!â Kyleeâs sharp voice suddenly cut through the air.
Belinda halted but didnât turn around.
Kylee continued, âTell your mother to stay the hell away from our house. No one in my family wants her there. If she knows whatâs good for her, sheâll keep her distance.â
Belindaâs eyes narrowed slightly, her gaze darkening. Then, with a smirk, she turned to face Kylee.
âMy mother has been visiting the Wright familyâs residence for a while now. And youâre only bringing this up now? Donât you think itâs a little late?â
