Chapter 79
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

The room was stunned into silence by the incident.
âKylee!â Baker jumped to his feet, rushing to her side with a look of concern as he took her injured hand. âIt hurts⦠it hurts so much! Dad, itâs so painful!â Kylee cried, tears streaming down her face.
Seeing his daughter in such pain, Bakerâs heart filled with sorrow and sympathy.
At that moment, the Wright family butler rushed over. âMiss Wright, you should cool it down with some cold water.â
âYes, yes! Quick, help her!â Baker urged, snapping into action as he directed the butler to assist Kylee in treating her burn.
Once Kylee had been attended to, Baker turned, his gaze narrowing angrily at Belinda. His eyes were filled with accusation, as though trying to convict her with his stare alone.
âBelinda, how could you be so vicious? Kylee just offered you soup and an apology, and you repaid her by scalding her hand with the soup!â
The veins in Bakerâs forehead bulged with anger as he spoke.
By now, Belinda had regained her composure. Her voice was steady as she replied, âI didnât cause the burn; she dropped the bowl herself.â
âEnough!â Baker exploded. âYouâre still trying to deny your actions and blame Kylee! I wonât let this go without teaching you a lesson!â
He began to stride toward Belinda with determination.
At that momentâ¦
âStop, Baker, please!â Holley intervened desperately, grabbing Bakerâs arm to stop him. âPlease spare her! It was an accident, a simple misunderstanding.â
âLet go of me!â Baker forcefully shrugged off Holleyâs hand. âYour pampering is what has spoiled her, making her this way!â
As he walked away from Holley, she suddenly collapsed to her knees with a heavy thud.
Holleyâs eyes were filled with desperation as she looked up at Baker. âBaker, please! Iâm begging you!â
Belindaâs eyes narrowed, and she bit her lip in frustration. âMom, stand up!â
Holley turned to Belinda with tearful eyes, pleading, âBelinda, please, just apologize to your father. Say you were wrong.â The strain on Belindaâs face deepened, turning her expression into a dark scowl.
Standing beside her, Lucas, who had been quiet until now, frowned deeply. A hint of disdain flashed through his eyes as he heard Holleyâs words. It seemed to him that Holley was too quick to demand an apology from Belinda without first considering the truth.
Taking a deep breath, Belinda stepped forward and reached out to help Holley up. But Holley was stubborn. âNo, I wonât stand! Belinda, you need to listen to meââ
âStand up now!â Belinda cut her off sharply, her voice raised as she pulled Holley to her feet.
