Chapter 75
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

At the Thomas family estate, Mollie was really upset, clenching her teeth. âVerena has no shame!â
Belinda gently patted Mollieâs back, saying softly, âDonât get upset, Mollie. I didnât let her win.â
Then, she told Mollie what had happened last night. Mollie felt better after hearing that.
âYou did great, Belinda! Keep dealing with that woman like that.â
Even though youâre planning to divorce Lucas in a month, youâre still his wife right now, so you have the right to stand your ground! Why let people who upset you get away with it? You have the moral high ground now. You have nothing to fear!â Mollie said firmly.
Belinda smiled and replied, âThatâs exactly what I think.â
âThatâs the right way to think!â Mollie responded.
After talking to Mollie for a bit, Belinda left the estate and went back to the hospital to continue her work. During her shift, Belindaâs phone rang. It was Holley on the line. âBelinda, can you come over after work? Iâd love to see you at the Wright family home,â Holleyâs voice came through.
Belinda paused, pressing her lips tight before responding, âIâd rather not return to the Wright family home now. Letâs meet at Vera Villas instead.â
There was a brief silence from Holley. A realization dawned on Belinda, and she chuckled derisively. âYouâre not the one asking for this visit, are you? Dad put you up to this, didnât he?â
Holley quickly responded, âYes, your father asked me to call you, but I truly do miss you.â
Belinda let out a cold laugh and said, âFine, tell him Iâll be there tonight.â She ended the call abruptly, not waiting for any reply from Holley.
Belinda understood the real reason behind her fatherâs summons. She recalled how she had publicly called out Kyleeâs mistake at the hospital. She knew Kylee would tell this to Baker and complain about it. A smirk played on Belindaâs lips as she pondered this.
Later, as she was changing in the locker room, her phone rang once more. Seeing the caller ID, she raised an eyebrow in surprise. She swiped to answer and said casually, âHello.â
A hoarse, cold voice responded from the other end of the line, âIâm waiting for you in the parking lot at the Grand Plains General Hospital.â
âCome here now.â The call was from Lucas.
Belinda queried, âWhy are you here?â
Lucas responded in a resonant tone, âMy dad insists I accompany you to the Wright family estate.â This caught Belinda off guard. Earlier, Harold had invited her to dinner, and she had informed him of her plans to visit the Wright estate in the evening. He had said nothing about Lucas coming along at that time.
âYou have ten minutes,â Lucas stated abruptly, ending the call before Belinda could reply.
