Chapter 738
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Upon hearing this from Belinda, Jillian erupted into fury once more. âWhy isnât it an option? You canât even discern why my father is in pain yet refuse us to change physicians? I am going to file a complaint against you!â
Belinda met Jillianâs glare with calm composure, her expression unruffled. She said evenly, âDo you need me to explain how to file a formal complaint? You need to remember this before you file a complaint; Iâm Dr. Belinda Wright, the attending physician in the Cardiac Surgery Department.â Jillian froze, momentarily caught off guard.
Outside the room, family members who had been watching the scene exchanged glances, silently applauding Belindaâs bravery. Dr. Wright was so fearless!
Jillianâs face flushed with anger. âYou⦠Whereâs your superior? I demand to speak to the director of this hospital!â
She took a deep breath, visibly trying to steady herself, but before she could say more, a manâs firm voice cut through the tension.
âIâm Caiden Rodgers, vice president of the Grand Plains General Hospital. If thereâs an issue, you can discuss it with me.â
All heads turned as Caiden strode over confidently, his authoritative presence commanding attention.
Jillianâs frown eased slightly at the sight of him. Her tone shifted, becoming more measured. âHello, Mr. Rodgers. Hereâs the situation; my father has been experiencing persistent discomfort in his heart for days. But this Dr. Wright not only failed to diagnose the problem, she actually claimed there was nothing wrong with him. Clearly, this shows her incompetence. Sheâs unable to find the issue, and weâre simply requesting a change of attending physician. Surely thatâs not unreasonable?â
Caidenâs sharp eyes narrowed slightly. It didnât take him long to understand that Jillian was causing trouble on purpose. She had actually questioned Starâs competence? She had said Starâs medical skills werenât good enough? That was absurd!
With a smile, Caiden replied, âPlease rest assured. All our doctors at the Grand Plains General are top professionals in their fields. Itâs simply not possible for anyone here to lack medical expertise.â
Jillianâs expression turned sour. Her brows furrowed tightly, and her voice sharpened. âWhat do you mean by that, Mr. Rodgers? Are you suggesting weâre just causing trouble for no reason?â
Caiden raised his hands in a placating gesture, still smiling. âYou misunderstood me. Thatâs not what Iâm saying.â
Of course, that was exactly what he meant, but he was far too tactful to say it outright.
Caiden adjusted his tone and continued, âIf your father is experiencing pain but our tests show no abnormalities, thereâs only one logical explanationâhis anxiety about the upcoming surgery is creating significant psychological stress, which manifests as physical discomfort. To address this, Iâll arrange for a psychologist to provide immediate counseling for the patient.â His explanation was factual; cases like this were not uncommon.
