Chapter 648
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

She couldnât bring herself to tell her mother. Besides, this was something she needed to handle in her own way.
Taking a steadying breath, Kylee forced a smile. âIâm fine, Mom. Really. Thereâs nothing to worry about.â
Carola frowned, clearly unconvinced, but she didnât press further.
Once they arrived at the blood bank, they were guided to a private lounge.
After a short wait, a staff member came to draw Carolaâs blood.
As Carola signed the necessary paperwork after donating her blood, Kylee glanced at the form casually.
But her casual glance turned into a wide-eyed stare.
Type A blood.
Carolaâs blood type was A!
Kylee was stunned. How could that be possible?
Her thoughts spiraled. She vividly remembered accompanying Baker to a medical check-up once, where she had seen that his blood type was B. Carolaâs blood type, on the other hand, was A.
One parent had type A, the other type B, so how on earth could their child have type O blood like hers?
It defied basic genetics.
Kyleeâs chest tightened, and her fingers trembled as the realization struck her. She was not Carolaâs child.
Her breath caught.
An unsettling possibility wormed its way into her mind. She couldnât shake the thought of Belinda.
Both Belinda and Carola shared allergies to seafood and artichokes.
Could it be that Belinda was Carolaâs child?
No, it was impossible. She had done a paternity test between Belinda and Carola! It had shown no blood relation between them.
There must have been a mistake somewhere. There had to be.
âKylee, are you okay? Why has your face gone so pale?â Carolaâs concerned voice broke through Kyleeâs spiraling thoughts.
Kylee blinked, snapping back to reality. âNo, itâs nothing. I just remembered something,â she said quickly, forcing a weak smile.
Carola frowned, unconvinced. âWhat could you be thinking about? You look even paler than me, and I just had blood drawn.â
Kylee didnât answer.
Her mind was anything but calm now.
She silently vowed to herself to get to the bottom of this matter.
