Chapter 590
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

âBelinda, donât be mad. Iâll behave.â
Vincent, who had been silently watching the scene, turned his head away, his lips twitching.
Lucas glanced tentatively at Belinda and then reached out to take her hand. The second his fingers brushed hers, she swatted his hand away.
âNo touching!â she barked.
Lucas blinked, visibly deflated. âOh.â He looked down at the floor for a moment before holding the hem of her coat lightly.
Belinda let out a sigh, rolling her eyes. âCanât you walk on your own?â
âI need to hold onto something,â Lucas replied stubbornly.
Belinda stared at him, at a loss for words. She felt like he was acting like a stubborn child now. At that moment, she completely forgot how she acted when she was drunk.
Taking a deep breath, Belinda grabbed Lucasâ sleeve and began walking toward the door, tugging him along.
As they moved, Lucasâ lips quirked into a faint, triumphant smile. He quickly masked it with a dazed expression before Belinda could notice.
They exited the private room and headed for the elevator.
Lucas trailed behind Belinda obediently, letting her lead him by the sleeve.
Vincent followed them a few steps back, a complex expression on his face.
When they finally reached the parking lot, Belinda unceremoniously shoved Lucas into the passenger seat of her car. She then slipped into the driverâs seat and slammed the door shut.
The car roared to life, and as it drove off, Vincent stood watching, shaking his head with a sigh before heading toward his own car.
In the shadows, a pair of watchful eyes had seen the whole scene.
Kyleeâs hands clenched into fists.
âDamn it!â she cursed under her breath before pulling out her phone to make a call.
She went off as soon as the call connected, exclaiming, âVerena! I thought Mr. Clark liked you very much! What in the world is going on right now? Why is he always tangled up with Belinda now? I just saw them together! Mr. Clark looked drunk, and Belinda was pulling him along. The thing is, he was following her so obediently. I donât need to tell you that drunk people are at their most vulnerable, do I? Who knows where that bitch Belinda is taking Mr. Clark? What is she planning to do with him? Youâd better call him right away and ask him to go see you!â
Kyleeâs tone was overly assertive, to the point that she was practically commanding Verena.
On the other end of the line, Verenaâs face turned white as a sheet. Kyleeâs words were like daggers that pierced right through her heart. She had also thought that Lucas liked her before. Even now, she refused to accept the fact that Lucas had never had feelings for her from the start.
