Chapter 579
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

He paused and then added, âBelindaâs ankle is injured, so please ensure she rests enough.â
With those words, he turned and walked away.
However, as he rounded the corner, he stopped abruptly.
âWhat are you doing here?â His voice turned cold instantly.
Sarai was standing at the corner, seemingly having been eavesdropping. She hadnât expected Lucas to suddenly appear, and she looked flustered for a moment.
Kenia also walked over. Upon seeing Sarai, she frowned slightly. âSarai, what are you doing here?â
Sarai swallowed and hesitated for over ten seconds before replying, âUh, I just remembered I have something to discuss with you.â
âWhat is it?â Kenia asked.
Sarai faltered again.
Kenia immediately understood that Sarai had been eavesdropping from her reaction.
Lucas let out a cold laugh, walked past Sarai, and departed.
âSarai, why were you listening in on my conversation with Lucas?â Kenia asked, her expression stern.
âKenia, I⦠I was just worried because you looked so serious. I feared something might happen, so I thought Iâd listen in,â Sarai quickly made up an excuse.
It was unclear whether Kenia believed her or not. She gave Sarai a look and then walked away without another word.
Sarai bit her lip, feeling a twinge of anxiety. She had never expected Lucas to spot her and hadnât had the chance to hide earlier.
With little time to think, she hurried after Kenia.
Lucas didnât return to Holleyâs hospital room and left the hospital. Once in his car, he pulled out his phone and dialed Gordon.
âMr. Clark,â Gordon quickly answered the call.
Lucas instructed firmly, âInvestigate Belindaâs car accident, especially the driver of that car.â
Hearing this, Gordon paused for a moment and then asked, âDo you suspect that someone might have orchestrated the car accident?â
Lucasâ eyes narrowed. âI canât rule out that possibility.â
âUnderstood. Iâll look into it right away,â Gordon responded.
After hanging up, Lucas drove off.
In the hospital room, Holley slowly regained consciousness. She groaned in pain as she shifted slightly.
âMom, youâre awake? How do you feel?â Belinda asked with concern.
âIt hurts⦠It hurts so much,â Holley said, her eyes starting to well up with tears.
