Chapter 563
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

She sighed softly. âItâs difficult, but it might ease your mind.â
Belinda pressed her lips together, touched by Carolaâs words.
âIâm trying,â Belinda responded.
âThatâs good,â Carola said with a smile.
The meal was unexpectedly delightful.
Afterward, Belinda walked Carola to her car.
As they walked down the stairs, Carola missed a step and stumbled.
Belinda immediately reached out to support her. âCarola, are you okay?â
Startled, Carola grabbed Belindaâs hand, steadying herself.
âIâm okay; thank you,â she replied, still a bit shaken.
As Belinda was about to speak, Kylee appeared, saying, âMom, are you okay?â
Kylee rushed over, pushing Belindaâs hand away and taking her motherâs arm.
Belinda was caught off guard by Kyleeâs abrupt intervention, stumbling back slightly.
Just then, someone steadied her by the waist.
Turning, Belinda found herself looking at a strikingly handsome face.
She raised her eyebrows in surprise.
Upon seeing Lucas, Kylee froze.
Lucas gave Kylee a piercing look. âIf your hands are only good for shoving people, I donât mind cutting them off to teach you a lesson.â
Kyleeâs face blanched.
She stammered, âI-I didnât mean to do that. Iâm sorry, Belinda. I was just so worried about my mom.â
Carola frowned slightly.
She gave Kylee a look and then said to Belinda, âIâm sorry, Belinda. And thank you for catching me earlier.â
Belinda replied, âItâs nothing. Itâs getting late; you two should head home now.â
Carola nodded. âAlright, weâll leave now. Be safe on your way back.â
âOkay,â Belinda replied.
Too embarrassed to speak further, Kylee lowered her head and quickly escorted Carola to the car.
Once they were inside the car, Kylee cautiously looked at Carolaâs expression before asking, âMom, was it Belinda who invited you to dinner tonight?â
Earlier, when she had heard from her father that her mother was dining with Belinda, a surge of irritation had overwhelmed her.
Without pausing, she had had the driver take her straight to the restaurant.
Upon arrival, she had found Belinda supporting her mom, who clung to Belindaâs hand.
The sight had fueled her anger, and she had pushed Belinda away without thinking.
