Chapter 491
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

At the Davidson familyâs residence, today marked a rare occasion as Devin, Nigelâs eldest grandson, left the school laboratory to join the family for dinner. During the meal, Nigel said to Devin, âDevin, Harold wants to introduce you to someone. Are you interested?â
âReally?â Devinâs father, the head of the family, was momentarily taken aback by the news. âWho is it that Harold wants to introduce? Do we know her?â inquired Devinâs mother, Lois Davidson.
Nigel responded directly, âYouâve all met her before. She is Lucasâ ex-wife, Belinda.â
âWhat? Belinda?â
âThatâs absurd!â
âHow could this be?â
Devinâs parents and sister all reacted with disbelief. Yet, the mention of Belinda sparked a glint of interest in Devinâs eyes.
Devinâs father turned to Nigel. âDad! Harold must be joking, right? Why would he think to introduce his former daughter-in-law to Devin? Itâs tooâ¦â
Nigel calmly replied, âHarold is serious. He holds his former daughter-in-law in high regard.â
âHe even mentioned that Lucas was unfortunate to lose someone like Belinda.â After a pause, he continued, âBut he only suggested the idea. Whether Devin wants to meet her is entirely up to him. I think it wouldnât hurt for Devin to meet her. They donât have to date; they could simply be friends.â
Lois immediately replied, âMeet her for what? Thereâs no point in that! Devin can do much better! Sure, Belinda is beautiful and capable, but her background is problematic! She is an illegitimate daughter, and she has been married before! She is not suitable for Devin at all!â
âExactly! Belinda doesnât deserve to be my sister-in-law,â Devinâs sister said with disdain.
But just then, Devin spoke up. âGrandpa, please arrange a time for me to meet Belinda.â
His words momentarily silenced the table.
âDevin, are you out of your mind?â
âDevin, what nonsense are you talking about?â
âDo you really want to meet her, Devin?â Nigel asked, clearly surprised. He had never expected his proud grandson to agree to this, yet here he wasâ¦
Devin nodded and replied, âYes, please inform Harold that Iâm available at any time.â
âAlright! Iâll call Harold later,â Nigel said, seeing that Devin was serious.
âDevin, whatâs gotten into you? That Belinda, sheâ¦â Lois started, but Devin quickly cut her off.
âMom, letâs just eat,â Devin said.
Lois was left speechless, her expression one of utter frustration.
