Chapter 445
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Belindaâs eyes narrowed as she set down her phone.
So, that was how it was.
No wonder Branson had been so cold to her.
There had been more to it!
At the Grand Plains General Hospital, the office of the head of the Medical Sectionâ¦
Caiden stood with a dark, brooding expression.
Branson offered a smile. âMr. Rodgers, youâre back from your business trip?â he said.
With no patience for small talk, Caiden cut to the chase. âBranson, donât you think your handling of Belindaâs case is unfair?â he asked.
Maintaining his smile, Branson replied, âIs that what this is about? No wonder you seemed so upset, Mr. Rodgers.â He paused briefly before continuing, âBelinda violated the rules, and I sanctioned her as per our guidelines. Whatâs unfair about that?â
Caiden let out a cold laugh and said, âYou only saw her violation. But even during her allergic reaction, she endured her symptoms to complete the surgery successfully. Why didnât you see that? Or did you choose to ignore that commitment on purpose?â His words were heavy with implication.
Branson responded, âAs the lead surgeon, was it not her duty to complete the operation?â
Caiden retorted, âThat misses the point! She was enduring an allergic reaction and risking her life. Had she stepped back for her safety, no one would have blamed her. Yet, she chose to put her life at risk to ensure the patientâs survival. Isnât that the kind of dedication we should all strive for? Doesnât that deserve our praise?â
Caught off guard by this, Branson fell silent.
He inhaled deeply, about to speak, when his phone rang.
Picking it up, he said, âHello.â
Something over the phone caused his brow to furrow.
He said, âUnderstood. I will head over immediately.â
After ending the call, Branson turned to Caiden with a calm demeanor. âMr. Rodgers, the director requires my presence in his office.â
âYouâre welcome to wait here for me if you prefer.â
Without waiting for a response, Branson walked toward the door.
After a momentâs hesitation, Caiden decided to follow Branson to the directorâs office.
Upon their arrival, the director looked up, surprised to see Caiden.
Then, he quickly regained his composure. âMr. Rodgers, since youâre here, you can join us.â After a pause, he added, âThis morning, I received a concerning petition.
It claims our Medical Section has been unjust in managing Belindaâs incident.
