Chapter 185
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

He stressed each syllable, turning to face Belinda with a cold stare. âHow would you know that?â
âJust by looking, of course,â Belinda replied matter-of-factly.
Lucasâs forehead veins bulged in response.
Looking? How on earth could she have seen Johnsonâs build closely before?
Lucasâs expression darkened, his voice cold as he asked, âAnd just how did you manage to see that?â
Belinda blinked, a flicker of mischief in her eyes. âWell⦠Thatâs something I canât really disclose.â
With a playful hint of secrecy, she seemed to suggest something very scandalous, yet internally, she was calm.
How had she seen it? She had merely looked, naturally. What else could it be?
It wasnât like she had seen Johnson naked or anything.
The car suddenly came to a halt, its tires screeching against the roadside.
Lucasâs face flushed with fury, his eyes a raging dark hue.
Clenching his teeth, he said sharply, âBelinda, have you lost all sense of decency? We are still legally married!â

She faced Lucas directly, questioning, âIn what way have I lost all sense of decency?â
A mischievous thought flickered across her mind, prompting a slight smirk from her. âWhatâs gotten into you, Mr. Clark? Why are you so angry?â
Lucas was stunned for a moment. Then, he narrowed his eyes. âWho were you with just now?â he asked casually as the car merged onto the highway.
âJohnson,â Belinda replied with a calm expression, knowing that Lucas already knew the answer.
Lucas fell silent. Just when Belinda thought Lucas wouldnât speak again, he suddenly asked, âSo, what do you think of Johnson?â
It was Belindaâs remark that made him recognize the intensity of his own reaction.
Regaining his composure, he forced a scornful smile. âAngry? Hardly⦠I just feel embarrassed by you. Once weâre divorced, youâre free to look at whomever you please. But while youâre still my wife, I expect you to have some decency and do what is right. Donât tarnish my familyâs name.â
By the end of his speech, his tone had turned stern.
Lucas didnât wait for Belindaâs response; instead, he fired up the engine and continued to drive.
On the outside, Lucas maintained a facade of calmness, yet internally, he felt like a raging fire was consuming him. He was frustrated with himself now. He was startled by the unsettling realization that Belinda had a growing influence over his emotionsâa development he found troubling.
Meanwhile, Belinda remained calm, casually observing Lucas before she shifted her gaze to the passing scenery outside the car window, her face a mask of neutrality.
The rest of the drive passed in silence.
