Chapter 158
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Johnson couldnât suppress his laughter upon seeing this. It was his first time seeing Belinda let loose like this, and it was unexpectedly entertaining.
Suddenly, Belinda turned to Johnson with a playful scowl. âYou! Yes, you, over there. Why arenât your hands up? Join in the fun with me; donât just sit there!â
Caught off guard, Johnson pointed to himself, incredulous yet amused. âMe?â
âYes, you! Get those hands upâshow me some spirit!â Belinda exclaimed, her voice ringing with infectious enthusiasm.
Johnson was frozen, momentarily baffled. He realized that Belinda was indeed completely drunk this time. She didnât even recognize him anymore, not calling him by his name.
âCome on! Or do I need to go there and make you put your hands up myself?â Belinda said, her impatience growing by the second.
Resigned to the absurdity of the moment and seeing no value in arguing with a tipsy Belinda, Johnson finally lifted his hands, waving them with a resigned smile.
âThere! Thatâs the spirit!â Belinda clapped, clearly pleased.
Johnson hoped her interest would wane soon, but instead, Belindaâs energy only seemed to increase. She had him clapping, singing, and at one point, even attempting a dance step.
Johnson realized this couldnât go on much longer. With a sigh, he walked over, grabbed Belindaâs discarded boots, and gently lifted her from the sofa.
âTime to call it a night, superstar,â he said.
Every chapter lives on g a lno vels ; comm âHow dare you!â Belinda protested, her playful indignation peaking as she playfully tugged at Johnsonâs hair and ear. âYou rogue, let go of me!â
âOuch, ouchâeasy there!â Johnson winced, quickening his steps toward the exit.
As he reached the doorway, Johnson nearly collided with Lucas, who had just unexpectedly come out of the opposite room.
Johnson paused abruptly, the sudden encounter catching him off guard. Lucas, equally surprised, took a moment to process the scene before his eyesâBelinda in Johnsonâs arms, both looking slightly disheveled now. His expression shifted from surprise to something else, his eyes darkening as he took in the sight.
Belinda was in Johnsonâs arms. Lucas, his expression tightening, demanded coolly, âWhatâs going on here? Why are you two together?â
Before Johnson could explain the situation, Belinda, still in his arms, playfully grasped his face. âYouâre quite the catch! Would you tell me your name? I think you can be my new boyfriend,â she slurred, her words laced with a teasing charm.
The corridor quieted to a hush at her words.
Johnson glanced toward Lucas, his expression a mix of awkwardness and resignation. He was momentarily at a loss for words, unsure of how to explain the situation to Lucas.
The assistant following Lucas quickly lowered his head, trying not to draw any attention. But he couldnât hold back his curiosity and sneaked a glance at Lucas. He noticed that Lucasâ expression was as dark as a storm cloud.
Lucasâ eyes grew cold, and his voice carried a sharp edge as he said to Johnson, âThis situationâwhat exactly is happening here?â
Johnson, sensing the rising tension, tried to explain everything. âLucas, itâs not what it seems. We were just having dinner, and Belinda ended up drinking too much because she was upset.â
