Chapter 1191
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Holleyâs expression darkened instantly.
Her eyes narrowed, a sharp glint flashing in them. After a few seconds, she spoke, eerily calm. âAnd tell me, Saraiâjust how exactly do you expect me to take care of you?â
Sarai didnât bother sugarcoating her words. âHolley, calm down. Iâm not asking for anything outrageous. Iâm just stranded in a strange city, running low on cash, and honestly, Iâm in a bind. Would it be possible for you to send me twenty thousand a month just to keep me afloat? Thatâs all I need; I wonât ask for more. And I promise, Iâll keep quiet about⦠that matter. Not a single soul will hear about it from me.â
Now, when Sarai faced Holley, her attitude was completely different from before.
Holley, however, remained visibly displeased.
The request left a bitter taste in her mouth, and frustration simmered beneath the surface.
Still, Saraiâs request wasnât exactly unreasonable.
But that didnât mean Holley was about to give in so easily.
She said, âI can send you money every month, but the most Iâll give is ten thousand.â
Saraiâs expression immediately darkened. âTen thousand? Thatâs nowhere near enough, Holley. Iââ
Holley cut her off, saying, âTen thousand is more than generous. Thatâs my final offerâtake it or leave it. If you agree, Iâll start transferring the money tomorrow. If not, well, then I guess youâre out of luck.â
On the other end of the call, Sarai fell silent for a long moment. Then, with reluctance, she finally replied, âFine. Ten thousand it is.â She would just have to be more careful with her spending.
âGood. Then itâs settled.â Without another word, Holley ended the call.
Later that evening, Bethany invited Belinda out for dinner.
With Johnson busy with work, it was just the two of them sharing a meal.
As they ate, Belinda mentioned the phone call Sarai had made to Kenia earlier that day.
âKeniaâs amazing!â Bethany burst out after hearing the story, unable to hold back her admiration.
Then, her lips twisted into a scornful smirk. âSaraiâs got some audacity. Whatâs her plan? She thinks she can just sweet-talk Kenia and come back?â
Belinda let out a sharp, silent scoff, her expression saying it all.
Bethanyâs teeth clenched, her face flushing with anger. âAnd donât get me started on Holley! Sheâs crossed every boundary! Teaming up with an outsider to scheme against her own flesh and bloodâwhat kind of mother does something that vile?â
The mere mention of Holley cast a shadow over Belindaâs features. These days, hearing her motherâs name didnât stir sorrow in her anymore, just a bitter blend of disappointment and repulsion.
Over and over, Holley had proven herself untrustworthy, but this latest betrayal, joining forces with Sarai to plot against Lucas, was the final straw for Belinda.
