Chapter 1187
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Soon, Lucas drove Belinda home.
Meanwhile, Kenia had just woken up.
After making her way downstairs and finishing a leisurely breakfast, she settled onto the living room sofa, idly flipping through TV channels.
Then, her phone rang.
When she saw the caller ID, she stiffened. In an instant, her relaxed expression vanished.
Kenia held her phone, watching as it rang persistently.
She made no move to answer, allowing the call to drag on until the very last second before finally picking up.
âHello.â Her voice was calm.
âKenia, have you had breakfast yet? How are you feeling? Is your recovery going well?â On the other end, Saraiâs voice was gentle, brimming with concern.
But at her words, Keniaâs expression turned frigid.
âIâm not well,â Kenia replied. Her tone was clipped.
Hearing this, Sarai was stunned for a moment.
A strange unease crept into her chest, making her grip the phone a little tighter.
Pressing her lips together for a moment, she asked cautiously, âKenia, whatâs wrong?â
Kenia didnât hesitate. Her patience had run out. âDonât call me that anymore. Weâre not that close.â
Saraiâs face went pale in an instant.
Her fingers trembled slightly as she held the phone. Anxiously, she said, âKenia, what do you mean? Why are you saying that all of a sudden? I⦠I donât understandââ
Kenia saw no reason to continue the charade. She interjected, âSarai, drop the act. Belinda already told me everything.â
A sharp intake of breath. Sarai froze, unable to form a single coherent word. She knew she was wrong. There was no justification for what she had done.
After a while, with a deep, shaky breath, she finally spoke. âKenia, Iâm sorry. I was wrong. IâI let greed cloud my judgment. I made a terrible mistake.â
Her voice cracked with emotion. âI regretted it the moment it happened, I swear. I truly didââ
Kenia cut her off, her voice razor-sharp, âOf course, you regret it. Because your little scheme fell apart. Isnât that why?â
Sarai flinched as if sheâd been slapped.
Her throat tightened, her eyes stinging with unshed tears. âKenia,â she muttered hoarsely, âplease⦠I know I messed up, but donât shut me out. Please donât pushâ¦â
âMe away. I have no one else. No other family. Youâre the only person I have left. If you abandon me now⦠Iâll be completely alone.â
