Chapter 1110
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

That afternoon, Holley visited Keniaâs hospital room.
The once warm and pleasant atmosphere turned tense the moment she entered.
Belinda, sitting by the bed, didnât so much as glance at Holley. She spoke only to Kenia, as if Holley werenât even there.
Holley made no effort to acknowledge Belinda, either.
They didnât seem like mother and daughter at allâmore like complete strangers.
Kenia, of course, noticed this. She tried to bridge the gap, bringing up topics that involved both Holley and Belinda.
But neither responded.
Feeling resigned, Kenia sighed inwardly.
At half past five in the evening, Belinda left for her night shift in the Cardiac Surgery Department.
As soon as the door closed behind Belinda, Kenia turned to Holley and sighed. âHolley, whatâs going on between you and Belinda? How did things get this bad? You two act like strangers! What exactly happened?â
Holleyâs expression remained neutral. âNothing, Mom. Donât overthink it.â
Keniaâs eyes sharpened. âDonât lie to me! If nothing happened, you two wouldnât be acting like this. Tell me the truth!â
Holley still refused to say anything.
Kenia pressed on, âOr do I need to call Belinda back so you can confront each other?â
Holleyâs face tensed. After a brief hesitation, she sighed in defeat. âWhat do you want to know?â
Kenia wasted no time. âStart from the day you called me and told me you were also at risk of infection. You said Belinda scratched youâwhy? What really happened?â
Cornered, Holley had no choice but to come clean. She told Kenia everything. By the time she finished speaking, Keniaâs face had paled slightly. Her expression was serious, troubled.
She said, âHolley⦠Youâve never sleepwalked before.â
Holley quickly explained, âThe doctor said it was caused by extreme stress. Anxiety triggered it. I swear, I didnât mean to do it! Belinda is my daughter, Mom! Do you really think Iâd hurt her if I were in my right mind?â
Kenia didnât respond immediately. Her gaze on Holley held complicated emotions.
Keniaâs frown deepened. âHolley, youâve changed so much lately! Werenât you the one who used to dote on Belinda the most? Especially when she was littleâyou treated her like she was made of glass. But nowâ¦â
Even she couldnât understand what had caused such a drastic shift in Holley. Lately, every decision Holley made seemed worse than the last. And every single time⦠it was Belinda who suffered for it.
The relationship between Holley and Belinda had only grown worse.
Especially after the last incidentâ¦
Holley had sleepwalked into Belindaâs room and nearly strangled her to death.
At that moment, Kenia couldnât help but wonderâif Belinda hadnât scratched Holleyâs face in time, would Holley⦠would she have actually killed Belinda?
She didnât dare dwell on the thought any further.
âMom! Why are you saying this, too? I havenât changed!â Holleyâs voice was laced with frustration and resignation.
Kenia didnât want to argue with her any longer.
After a pause, she simply said, âLucas has been looking into what happened when Belinda was a childâabout how she was fed hormones. Itâs been a while now. I wonder if heâs found anything.â
