Chapter 1046
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Belinda was visibly thinner now, her complexion paler than before.
âListen to me,â Catherine said with determination, âYouâre going to be alright. A classmate of mine has a brother whoâs a doctor. He once experienced an occupational exposure incident, but because he received immediate treatment and followed the full course of medication, he was completely fine. You will be, too.â
Belinda met her gaze and nodded, a small but genuine smile on her lips. âYeah, I believe that.â
Catherine smiled back upon hearing that.
After a moment, Belinda hesitated, then spoke with a mix of caution and curiosity. âCatherine⦠Are you really planning to keep avoiding Johnson?â
At the mention of Johnson, Catherineâs expression shifted. She bit her lip and lowered her gaze, a storm of emotions flickering across her features.
Belinda let out a quiet sigh.
Just as she was about to speak, a sudden knock echoed from the door.
Rising from her seat, Belinda made her way to the door and opened it. For a split second, she stood frozen in place, her eyes widening in surprise at the unexpected visitor standing before herâ¦
Belinda cleared her throat gently, her voice soft but deliberate.
âJohnson, youâre here,â she said.
At the sound of Belindaâs words, Catherine, seated on the sofa, stiffened abruptly.
â£ð±ð® ð¯ð²ð´ð¶ð»ð»ð¶ð»ð´ ðµð²ð¿ð²: gⱯð ððνðð ð.con Johnson stepped into the room, his eyes briefly flickering toward Belinda. âWhy are you wearing a scarf?â he asked.
âItâs a little chilly. Iâm wearing it to keep my neck warm,â Belinda replied, her fingers brushing the fabric lightly.
Johnson nodded, his attention shifting to Catherine.
His brow lifted slightly as he said casually, âOh, Cathyâs here, too.â
âJohnson,â Catherine greeted him, rising to her feet.
Johnson acknowledged her with a brief nod before turning back to Belinda. âHow are you feeling? Have the side effects eased a bit?â
Belinda nodded. âYes, I am feeling much better today.â
Johnson walked over to the sofa and took a seat, continuing to inquire about Belindaâs condition.
Throughout the conversation, he didnât so much as glance at Catherine.
This left Catherine feeling a mix of confusion and relief.
The three of them spent some time chatting, with Johnson and Catherine keeping the conversation light and focused on Belinda. Eventually, Catherine was the first to excuse herself.
âBelinda, I have some things to take care of, so Iâll leave now. Take care, and Iâll visit you again soon,â Catherine said.
âAlright,â Belinda replied with a nod.
At that moment, Johnson also stood. âI should get going, too,â he announced.
The moment he said that, Catherine froze.
Belinda didnât say anything, but her gaze lingered on Johnson, her eyes conveying something unspoken.
Johnson, however, remained unfazed, his face betraying no emotion.
Together, Johnson and Catherine left Belindaâs house.
As soon as they stepped outside, Catherine turned to Johnson. âJohnson, Iâll be on my way now. Goodbye.â
