Chapter 103
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Enzo was caught off guard by her blunt refusal. Though angry, he managed a forced smile and said, âItâs alright.â
Lucas shot Enzo a stern glance, his gaze sharp and questioning.
After the meal, Lucas stepped outside, Belinda retreated to her room, and Kaneâs family remained in the living room, enjoying Haroldâs company.
Noticing Enzoâs persistent inquiries about Belinda, Kane furrowed his brows deeply. When Harold excused himself to the bathroom, Kane quickly pulled Enzo aside, asking, âWhy are you asking about Belinda? What are you planning to do here?â
Enzoâs face broke into a mischievous smile. He turned to Kane and said, âDad, donât you think Belinda is absolutely stunning now?â
Kaneâs expression darkened immediately. His voice was cold and sharp as he fixed Enzo with a warning glare. âListen to me carefullyâyouâd better not get any ridiculous ideas. Sheâs Lucasâ wife!â
Enzoâs smile only widened, a glint of mischief in his eyes. âPrecisely. Sheâs Lucasâ wifeâmy uncleâs wife by title. Thatâs what makes it all the more exciting.â
He leaned back slightly, his grin more meaningful as he continued, âImagine this: Lucasâ wife falls for me, insists on divorcing him, and claims sheâll marry no one but me. Wouldnât that be quite the spectacle?â
For a moment, Kane was stunned by the audacity of his sonâs words. His eyes narrowed dangerously, and his voice thundered in a harsh reprimand. âShut up, you brat! Iâm warning youâdonât even think about it. If your grandfather gets wind of this nonsense, he will make sure you regret it!â
Enzo shrugged, his tone light and dismissive. âRelax. Then we just ensure he doesnât find out about this. This sort of thing, Dad, is best handled discreetly.â
Kaneâs glare hardened. âDrop this idea immediately, Enzo. I mean it.â
Enzo waved a hand in dismissal, irritation creeping into his voice. âAlright, I heard you.â
Without another word, he turned and walked away, heading back toward the living room.
Kane watched his sonâs retreating figure, his brow furrowed in frustration. Yet, as the silence returned, Enzoâs words lingered in his mind, planting a seed of thought.
Whatever crossed Kaneâs mind brought the faintest curl to his lips before he followed his son back into the living room.
That night, Kaneâs family remained at the Clark family estate. A soft knock at Kaneâs door interrupted his quiet. He opened it to find a man waiting outside. With a faint smile, Kane stepped aside, allowing the man to enter.
They then moved to the balcony, the night air cool. The man greeted Kane, bowing respectfully.
âHave a seat,â Kane said.
âThank you,â the man replied.
As the man settled into a chair, Kaneâs expression turned shrewd. âTell me, how are things between Lucas and Belinda these days?â
The man appeared momentarily caught off guard, not expecting Kaneâs interest in such a matter. After a brief pause, he composed himself and answered, âNot good. They were planning to finalize their divorce at the courthouse, but your fatherâs asthma attack prevented them from completing the process. However, it appears both Lucas and Belinda are determined to go through with the divorce.â
He hesitated for a moment before continuing, âFrom what Iâve heard, your father struck a deal with Lucas. For one month, Lucas must comply with all of your fatherâs arrangements concerning him and Belinda. If, after that time, Lucas still insists on the divorce, your father will stop interfering with the matter. At that point, Lucas will be free to marry the person he truly loves.â
