Chapter 1013
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

âAre you looking for a fight?â Lucas leaned back slightly, casting a lazy glance at Galen. His brows arched in amusement, as if he found the old manâs rage nothing more than an inconvenience.
Galenâs face darkened.
âGrandpa, please, calm down. Sit down and take a deep breath,â Kylee urged, stepping forward to place a soothing hand on Galenâs chest, desperate to ease his fury.
Galen exhaled sharply before lowering himself back onto the sofa. His gaze shifted to Harold, his tone sharp. âHarold, youâre just going to sit there and say nothing about this?â
Harold finally spoke, his voice calm but firm. âGalen, letâs not act recklessly. Lucas was certainly rash, and his behavior was indeed inappropriate. Howeverâ¦â
A slow smile played on his lips before he continued, âHe was simply defending the woman he loves. Can you really blame him for that?â
âYou!â Galenâs fury surged again, but before he could erupt, Harold cut him off.
âGalen, letâs be honestâyouâve let Kylee run wild for far too long. If you donât rein her in now, itâs only a matter of time before she brings real disaster upon herself.â
Galenâs chest heaved violently, his fury reaching its peak.
He fixed Harold with a piercing glare. âHarold, I never thought you would take their side.â
Drawing in a deep breath, he steadied his voice, but the underlying threat in his tone was unmistakable.
âThis matter will be settled today. If not, donât expect me to maintain the peace between our families any longer.â
Lucas was not afraid at all.
His lips curled into a faint smirk, his tone laced with amusement. âMr. Happer, I suggest you reconsider your decision carefully. Are you really planning to challenge the Clark family? Have you fully thought this through?â
Galenâs expression darkened even more.
Despite everything he had just said, Lucas remained unfazed, treating his threats as if they were pointless.
Harold, with a calm but pointed tone, said, âGalen, once the ties between our families are severed, patching things up wonât be easy.â
Galen clenched his jaw, his face livid, his hands trembling slightly with suppressed fury.
Kylee, sitting beside him, was equally enraged.
The Clark familyâs protection of Belinda only made her more jealous.
In the end, Galen rose abruptly and snapped, âWeâre leaving.â
âOkay, Grandpa,â Kylee responded swiftly, standing up and helping him exit the room.
The moment they were gone, Harold let out a sharp huff, unable to contain his frustration. âGalen has completely lost his mind! His granddaughter committed such a vile act, and yet he still has the audacity to come here confronting us?â
Norma hesitated before murmuring, âBut⦠Does Kyleeâs assault really have nothing to do with Belinda?â
âOf course!â Lucas and Harold answered in unison.
