Upon arriving at Belindaâs place, Holley was greeted with a cold, wary voice. âMs. Lewis⦠What are you doing here again?â Bethanyâs sharp eyes bore into her.
Looking at Belinda, Holley said earnestly, âBelinda, Iâve spent a lot of time reflecting on my past mistakes, and Iâve come to realize just how wrong I was. I hurt you deeply, and I have no excuse for it. Iâm your mother⦠How could I have ever treated my own daughter that way? I should have never done that.â
Taking a shaky breath, she continued, desperation creeping into her tone, âPlease, give me another chance. Let me stay by your side and take care of you. Iâm truly worried about you.â
Belinda remained silent, her delicate features unreadable. On the surface, she appeared indifferent, but inside, a storm of emotions swirled.
Holleyâs eyes grew red, her desperation becoming more evident. âI swear, Iâll take good care of you this time. Just trust me once more. Please, let me stay by your side.â
It was clear that she really wanted to stay.
A long silence stretched before Bethany scoffed, her disdain unmistakable.

Before Holley could respond, Belinda rose from her seat and walked toward the stairs, her decision final.
