Chapter 19

Omg I've been gone for over 3 months. I feel awful I didn't realise it has been so long. I've just been busy and haven't had much ideas on what to write. You guys must be fed up to the Max! I'm so sorry. Please don't hate me and thanks for being so patient!

If you can't remember last chapter here's what happened: Ellie ran away got 'kidnapped' but it was actually Kai, they had a huge argument.. again 🙄 and yeah that's pretty much it.

Kai's P.O.V

"I can't believe her! How dare she try run away with our child. How dare she think she's the only one who gets to make decisions on behalf of our child?!" I shout punching the wall.

"Kai calm down" Caleb says trying to get me to calm down, I glare at him and punch the wall again

"Caleb I wouldn't" Oscar warns

"Come on Kai, punching the wall isn't going to make it any better" Caleb says, ignoring Oscars warning

"Fuck off" I snap "both of you get the hell out of my face, I'm in no mood for company" I growl and I sit down at my desk. They both leave my office and I groan in frustration

It's the day after me and Ellie had another fight back in England, we are back home now and I haven't spoken to her yet. One because I'm too pissed off to do so and two because she's refusing to talk to anyone. She won't even speak to Rachel. She's lucky I'm not in the mood to talk to her either.

I can't believe she would think that I'd force my to child get involved with the Mafia and be in danger like that! Does she think I'm a monster? I'm not going to force my child to do anything!  I know I should be telling her this instead of punching walls and huffing in my office but I just can't bear to look at her right now.

A knock sounds from my office door

I groan but before I can tell the person to go away the door slams open.

"Boss come quick it's Ellie!" Lucas shouts, I stand up from my chair

"She's in labour?" I ask somewhat scared but really excited at the same time

"No worse, come on she's with the doctor" Lucas says rushing out of the room

I run after him and grab him by the back of the neck

"Wait a fucking minute, what's wrong with her?" I shout at him panicking

"She's been shot"

"WHAT?" I scream

"Come on I'll explain on the way" he says, I nod my head and we both run to the infirmary. "Caleb phoned me, told me that she's been shot and to get you" he said as we ran down the stairs

"How the hell did she get shot? Where was she?" I asked angrily

Just then I spotted blood on the floor. I stopped running. "She got fucking shot here? How the hell did I not know about this? Who the fuck shot her? I swear I'm going to kill them!" I screamed. They better hope she's okay

"I, Uh I don't know, all I know is that she's with the doctor so come on so we can find out!" He says pulling my arm

I slam the door open in the infirmary and storm in. Straight away a doctor runs up to me

"Don't worry she and the baby are okay, she'll make a full recovery" she says. I instantly relaxed and I could feel my heartbeat start to slow down. "Follow me and I'll take you to her" she says. She leads the way and we walk into the room where Ellie was laying on the bed, leg raised and bandaged up. The nurse left and me and Lucas stood at the door. Caleb was sitting  in the chair beside her.

"You wanna sit here?" Caleb asks directing his question at me. I shook my head

"It's fine" I said and sat at the edge of the bed. Ellie didn't look at me. I rolled my eyes and looked at her leg

"So what happened?" I asked, trying to keep my anger in

"Nothing" she replied quietly

I scrunched my eyebrows. Why is she protecting whoever shot her?

Ellie's P.O.V

Half an hour ago

I walked out of the kitchen and spot Ben walking in through the door. He had a gun in his hand and I watched him tuck it behind him in his trousers. My eyes widened. No way!

I walked over to him. "Hey Ben" I said

"Hey" he replies

"What are you doing here?" I ask

"What do you mean?" He asks confused

"Your 11 you should be in your house playing on your Xbox or running about the street playing hide and seek" I tell him

He laughs "don't be ridiculous"

"Kid you don't know what your doing" I warn him

"Your not my mum" he says trying to walk away from me

"I know" I say and grab his arm softly, not finished with this conversation "but I'm sure your mum is very worried about you" I say

"I don't think she can be worried anymore" he says, snatching his arm out of my hold. "She's dead" he continues

I frown "I'm so sorry" I say starting to tear up

"Why you didn't kill her" he shrugs

She was murdered? Poor kid. I feel so bad.

"I understand you must be so upset and angry, but joining the Mafia isn't going to help. You need to get out while you still can" I tell him

"Actually this is exactly where I need to be" he says

I shake my head "no, it's not. It's dangerous and I don't think you know what your getting yourself into. This is not a game, it's not Mario, you don't have multiple lives you have one and being here puts your life at risk. That gun in your waistband, it's not a toy Ben" I tell him

"I don't need lectured, I know what I'm doing just drop it. You don't know me and this is my life, if I want to play with guns and knifes then I will" he says

"Ben please, I know I don't know you but I do know that I don't want to end up seeing you dead.. just give me the gun and I can help you" I tell him

He laughs right in my face "you can't help me, it's too late. I joined and I'm not stupid, once your in your in for life. There's no way out now" he laughs

"At least let me try, please" I beg him

"No now go away and leave me alone" he says

"Ben I can help you" I tell him

"I don't need your help!" He shouts at me, tears in his eyes. He's scared

Off course he's scared, he's just a kid. He didn't know what he was getting himself into.

"You do, I can tell your scared but if you give me the gun I can help you" I tell him

"You want my gun?" He shouts, taking his gun out from his waistband. I smile at him to try reassure him, and hold my hand out for him to place the gun in my hand. I'm going to get him out of this. I have to.

"No" he says

"Your 11, you shouldn't have a gun! I bet you don't even know how to use it, you could hurt yourself" I say

"I do too know how to use it, wanna see?" He asks then points the gun at me

My eyes widen. "Ben what are you doing?" I ask scared

"You want my gun so bad? Here take it!" He says and shoots my leg

I scream out in pain as I fall the the floor. Tears stream down my face, I look up at Ben and he's looking down at me wide eyes. "I..omg.. I-I'm so sorry!" He says, his eyes dart to the side. Hearing footsteps and he takes off running down the corridor. I let out another cry of pain.

"Ellie?" I look up and see Caleb and Oscar

"What the fuck!" Oscar shouts, a door slams shut making Oscar snap his head in the direction of the corridor that Ben took off in. "Take her to the infirmary, call Lucas and tell him to get Kai" he says before rushing in the same direction that Ben ran.

Oh no. Oh no no no no. Kai will kill him! He's just a kid. Yes he shot me but it was clearly an accident! The fear and shock on his face made it evident he didn't mean to shoot me.

"Ellie!" I jumped in the bed snapping my head up looking at Kai who was looking at me worryingly

"Tell me who did it" Kai said

"Kai, it was an accident" I tell him

"An accident?! You don't just accidentally shoot someone Ellie! Especially not someone who is pregnant, they could have killed you, our baby. This could have been a whole lot worse!" He says sternly

"I-I know but I'm fine" I tell him

"Yeah and the fucker who done this is lucky, I might have some mercy on him because your alive" he growls, clenching his hands into fists

"You can't hurt him" I rush out

"Why are you protecting him?!" He asks angrily

"Because, it was an accident" I repeat myself

"I don't give a fuck, that bitch is dead" he says

My eyes widen. "Kai please" I beg grabbing his hand. His eyes snap to mine and I see him relax a little "please don't hurt him" I say

"I can't hurt him if I don't know who he is" Kai says glaring at me. "I-I'll tell you who it was if you swear not to hurt him" I say

Just then Oscar walks into the room.

"I'm glad your okay Ellie" he says walking over to the bed I'm laying on. "Don't worry, I got who done this to you, Kai will deal with him later" he says

"Who done it?" Kai growls out. My eyes widen. I shake my head at Oscar but he wasn't looking at me

"Be-"

"No wait" I shout

"Ellie you can't keep protecting him, he hurt you... Could've killed you" Lucas said

"I know but-"

"But what? Why are you protecting him?" Caleb chimes in

"I know why" Oscar says

"Well fucking tell me then" Kai shouts at him

"It was Ben" Oscar says then looks at me "and your protecting him because he's a child aren't you?" He asks me

"He didn't mean to. It was an accident. He didn't know what he was doing and well I, it was my fault. I provoked him" I rushed out "Kai promise me you won't kill him! He's just a kid, you can't kill a kid" I say

"I won't kill him" Kai says looking at me "I promise"

I sigh relieved "thank you" I say
