Chapter 26

Nicole woke up the next morning to feel strong arms around her, her head was on something hard yet comfortable, it was slowly rising and falling. She lifted her head only to discover that her head had been on Gabriel's chest who was still asleep, she was surprised to see them in such an intimate position.

How did they end up like this?

Nicole couldn't help but blush just thinking about last night and the current position they were in, it was like they were a real couple. She carefully untangled herself from his arms not wanting to wake him up. She wanted to remain in this position but she also desperately needed to empty her bladder. She successfully got out of bed without waking him up and hurriedly went into the bathroom to do her business.

Nicole came out of the bathroom and went to lie back to bed since today was Saturday. She couldn't help but stare at Gabriel's face, he was incredibly handsome with his full eyebrows, pointed nose, and those eyes, they looked so peaceful when closed but when they were opened, they were a distraction. Nicole could stare into Gabriel's eyes all day and not get tired of those brown eyes. Any woman would feel lucky to have him in their life. His lips were really beautiful and did wonders when kissing. Nicole couldn't help it as her mind wandered back to the previous night for the second time.

God help her because she was falling deeply in love with this man as the days went by and she couldn't help it. He slowly stirred in his sleep making Nicole close her eyes pretending to still be asleep, then she felt his arm around her waist. It seems he needed some cuddles all of a sudden. She placed her arm on his strong one, gently stroking it as she felt her eyes getting heavy once again.

Nicole woke up the second time to an empty bed, she was sad about it but decided against getting used to sleeping in the position she had found them in when she woke up earlier. She sat up and noticed something on her nightstand, it was a bouquet of red roses and a box of chocolate with a note on it.

'Thanks for last night's dinner. I enjoyed it.'  The note read.

he couldn't help but smile to herself. Gabriel was really sweet. She took a bar of chocolate from the box and was about to go take a shower when she saw a giant teddy bear in the room.

She squealed in excitement, running to the teddy, and hugging it tightly.

Why wouldn't she fall all the more in love with Gabriel?

After cuddling the teddy bear for a while, she got into the closet and picked out a dress before going to the bathroom to shower. After showering, she dressed in a strapless grey midi dress, she applied some makeup and hurriedly left the room to go look for Gabriel.

Nicole went into the study but couldn't find him there. She wondered where he would be if not in his study so she went and asked the house administrator if he had any idea of Gabriel's whereabouts, he told her that Gabriel was in the indoor gym. She quickly ran there and saw Gabriel drinking from his bottle of water, his white sweatshirt hugged his body as he was all sweaty.

So this was how he kept his body fit?

She hugged him tightly from behind ignoring his sweatiness, taking him by surprise.

"Thank you," she said.

Gabriel was surprised to feel small arms around his torso.

How did she know he was here? He didn't imagine she would be this excited about the gifts he got her.

Nicole gently pulled away from the hug and walked around, now standing in front of him.

"So, this is what you do during the weekends?... You know, I've always wondered how you look this fit when all you do is work, work, and work," she said, her eyes taking a look around the gym.

"How did you know I was here?" He asked.

"You wanted to keep this a secret from me? Too bad I now know about your little.. secret," she replied not answering his question.

Gabriel rolled his eyes at her reply, then he remembered something.

"You promised you were going to work out every pound you gained while eating those junk foods," he said with a smirk.

Nicole's eyes went wide at his statement and she slowly took some steps back but Gabriel's smirk was still visible as he also took steps closer to her.

"But I haven't gained any extra pounds." she nervously replied.

"You sure about that?" He asked with a devilish smile.

"I um, I - yes I'm sure," Nicole replied regretting why she was in a hurry to look for him. She would've waited till he was done with his workout.

Their faces are now only inches away from kissing.

"What if I said I want you to do a little exercise?" Gabriel said. Nicole could feel his minty breath fanning her face, she placed her hand on his chest to keep a little distance between them because she wasn't thinking anymore due to his closeness.

"What are you two love birds doing here? I've been looking all over for you." Helen said startling them from their little moment, making them stand upright.

"Your engagement party is tonight and you both are here having fun. You can continue with your make-out session later when the party is over." she continued making Nicole feel embarrassed.

"Mom, we weren't doing any of that and you know it." Gabriel defended.

"But you were about kissing, so that makes no difference," she replied taking Nicole by the hand.

"Come on honey, let's get you prepared," Helen said guiding Nicole out of the gym.

Nicole had forgotten about the engagement party but she had noticed that the maids were busy when she woke up, she had no idea that it was because of their engagement party. Now that she was in the living room again she realized that there had been changes to the living room, it looked beautiful, not like it wasn't always beautiful but extra decorations had been added.

"Where are we going?" She asked Helen when she noticed that they were walking out the front door of the mansion.

"We're going to get you some body treatment and a new makeover." Helen excitedly replied.

"But I thought I did that yesterday?" Nicole complained in surprise.

"This is for your engagement part... You don't plan on looking like this tonight. Do you?"

Nicole nodded a 'no' in reply because she didn't think any makeup or hairstyle she would do for herself would meet up with that of the guests they were expecting nor would it be good enough for the occasion, so she decided to let Helen do her thing.

When I thought Nicole was sweet, look what Gabriel did

They are both awesome!

I seriously need a Gabriel in my life, who's with me?
