Zhang Bi recalled some rumors that he had picked up earlier and said to Li WangJin, “I’ve heard that one of Gaoyuan Corporation’s major stockholder will be here today. If you can butter up to her, that ought to be helpful for us.”

Zhang Bi and Li WangJin cheered each other on like two animals who were huddling together for warmth. Within this very short and brief moment, the two of them had put aside their differences and seemed to have found a shred of what they used to share.

This Boss Li, through his marriage, was able to get his hand onto a small portion of Gaoyuan’s stock. He came today to check out who the new stockholder was and whether she was easy to get along. His voice was low, “I’ve heard some rumor that the new stockholder that we are going to meet today is a woman.”

Zhang Bi knew that already but he played along nonetheless. “What do you know about her?”

Boss Li thought about it some and added, “I’ve heard that she was divorced so I assumed she is a capable person. I am not used to networking with women either. Someone who’s young and personable like Young Master Zhang would do a much better job than me.”

That was the real reason that Boss Li had walked over. He wanted them to be the first to go up and find out more about what kind of a person this new stockholder was.

The subtext in the words made Zhang Bi’s face stiffened. As much as he was willing to lower is stance for the purpose of networking, that did not mean that he was willing to use his body that way.

Boss Li walked away after his intention was made clear.

Zhang Bi turned to Li WangJin and said, “I’ve heard that your son is very good looking. Possibly better looking than some stars?”

Now it was Li WangJin’s turn to twitch his lips. He couldn’t possibly sell his own son out to an old woman! Being able to rise to her status, she must not be very young. Thinking of that, he couldn’t help but shuddered in disgust.

Zhang Bi said nonchalantly, “Just think about your debts. Unless you want to sell all of your shares to pay them off.”

Li WangJin’s body stiffened. If he was to get to that point…

At 7:30 PM, Zhang ZhiSu appeared in front of everyone. Compared to all of the others who were in suit, he was in a cyan colored traditional garb. Like a bamboo in a dense forest, he appeared to be very personable. When he walked downstairs, many people’s eyes widened in shock.

They have all heard through the vines that Zhang ZhiSu were handicapped and had a very slim chance of recovery. He did not look like someone who had been injured from the elegant way that he was walking right now. Did that mean the news that they have heard in the past was incorrect?

Fang JunRong, too, was surprised. She knew that the White Jade Cream would be effective but not this effective. Or perhaps his injury wasn’t as severe as she had thought?

Under everyone’s attention, Zhang ZhiSu walked on front of Fang JunRong and, with a hint of a smile on him, he reached out his hand. “May I have the honor for the first dance?”

He was very appreciative of what Fang JunRong had done for him. If it wasn’t the two bottles of pills that she had sent over, he just might be wheelchair-bound for life. Especially the Detoxification Pills, it allowed him to realize that someone intended to poison him and he was able to eliminate a few spies that were planted next to him.

Everybody was shocked.

As the host, Zhang ZhiSu leading with the first dance was only normal but nobody expected that his dance partner would be Fang JunRong. Nobody ever knew that these two had anything to do with each other in the past and were completely unrelated.

As much as everyone was stunned, it was just a dance. It didn’t take long for everyone to calm down.

Fang JunRong paused for a little, her lips curved upward, and she said, “Alright.”

It was just a dance. Not a big deal. She, too, was very calm.

Li WangJin was the one who wasn’t calm. He was already annoyed when he saw Fang JunRong with that boy toy. And now she was dancing with Zhang ZhiSu? This was torturous to him.

He had no idea when had Fang JunRong befriended Zhang ZhiSu. She had kept that in the downlow for so long that she had never pulled that string.

He had visited Fang JunRong’s Uncle Zhang with her before in the past. But the two families weren’t never very close. Not to mention that Uncle Zhang, albeit being Zhang ZhiSu ‘s uncle, was not considered part of the main branch of the Zhang’s.

He dared not offend Zhang ZhiSu so he had no choice but to watch the handsome man and the beautiful woman dancing to the music.

Did he really have to have his son butter up to the major stockholder?

His face was very colorful and there were a lot of inner battles within him.

After the dance, Zhang ZhiSu dropped a bomb lightly. “The purpose of this banquet today is to introduce our newest stockholder, Fang JunRong.”

And everybody there was shocked.

The music stopped and only silence remained. Under everybody’s look, Fang JunRong nodded slightly, her face under the light was so delicate she looked like an art piece sculpted by God.

There were sounds of glass shattering. Both Li WangJin and Zhang Bi were so shocked that they’ve dropped their wine glasses.
