I think your time in this university has ended, Paul.”

Everyone looked toward the door, and one of the students exclaimed, “It’s the university president!”

Everyone was shocked, not much by his appearance, but by what he said. Even Paul was

stunned before finding his voice, “Wh–what do you mean, Russell?”

Russell looked at Paul grimly and said, “Do you have to ask? You even dared to defend a

petty thief. Worse, you threatened the victim to let it go by implying you’d chase her out of

our fine university.”

“Th–that’s not what happened, Russell. Believe me when I say there’s more to it. Trina

wasn’t wrong. Bonnie was disrespectful toward her and her parents, and she also sent

Trina’s fiance to jail. Trina was just blinded with anger and made a mistake.”

“Oh? Do you know why Bonnie did what she did?” Russell questioned. “Not every parent

loves their child unconditionally. You’re an experienced man, Paul. You’re aware of this

notion, too, right?”

Russell put his hands behind his back and continued, “I’m sure you saw the Shepards‘

announcement on their official Twitter account. Bonnie could be dead or alive for all they

care. As far as I know, she did nothing wrong.

“So, why would the Shepards disown her? Everyone knows the family hates Bonnie

because she grew up in the countryside. They care more about their reputation.”

Paul did not know what to say at that moment. After all, it was as Russell said. Although

the Shepards made a scene with their announcement, everyone knew what had really

happened.

Russell added, “Trina’s fiancé got arrested because he broke the law. Do you suppose

Bonnie had sway over the police force? They wouldn’t pounce on someone just because

she said so. You’re a university professor, for Heaven’s sake. Use your brain for a change.”

Paul felt humiliated and could not defend himself. He said, “Fine, Trina made a mistake,

but her talents in scientific research are immaculate. She might even start working at

Bonita Research Institute.

“We can’t ruin her future over something so petty. It’ll be a significant loss for Arvandor’s science industry!”

To hell with that! We must expel her!” Russell roared, wishing to tell everyone Bonnie’s true identity. That would put Trina in her place and make Paul regret getting involved.

Trina slumped to the floor, looking as white as a ghost. “P–Please don’t expel me, Mr. Russell. I swear I’ve learned from my mistake and won’t repeat it.”

She began to cry at the end of her sentence, making herself look pitiful to gain everyone’s sympathy.

Russell pursed his lips when he saw her like that. Although she could fool her parents and friends, Russell was a seasoned man. He knew what she was trying to do. After all, there was a reason he was the university’s president.

With that in mind, he turned to Bonnie and asked, “Do you think expelling her will suffice? I can always announce it on the university’s official Twitter account.”
