I Love You Miss Genius ( Bonnie Shepard ) CHAPTER 181
I Love You, Miss Genius
Chapter 181
âWell, Iâve gotten used to it.â Bonnie shrugged with a smile.
Welma felt sorry for her and ran her fingers through Bonnieâs hair, saying, âWe wouldnât have known how poorly they treated you if we hadnât come to Pyralis.â
âTrinaâs just after the Shepardsâ wealth and glory.â Benedictâs anger grew the more he thought about it. He then looked at his parents and said, âYou didnât stand up to them just now. You donât really believe what Trina said, do you?â
Welma looked pained. âI watched you and Bonnie grow. I know you two better than anyone. Still, I didnât know how Trina would react if I scolded her in front of her parents.â
Gerald added, âYour momâs right. Itâs best to play it safe since the Shepards treasure Trina so much. However His tone softened as he looked at Bonnie guiltily. âItâs just unfair to you, Bonnie. Weâre sorry. We shouldnât haveâ¦â
Benedict felt his parents were somewhat biased toward Trina, but he could also understand the difficulties they had faced when they decided to send Bonnie to the Shepards.
Bonnie said smilingly, âTrinaâs your flesh and blood. Even if sheâs unbearable, your blood flows through her veins. You did what true parents would have done.â
Not many could turn against their own family. Moreover, Bonnie was protective by nature and always prioritized her family.
âGresham and Vera are peculiar,â Bonnie spoke without resentment. Instead, she was calm. However, the more sensible she was, the more Welma and Geraldâs
hearts ached.
âBy the way, have you guys found a place to stay? Whatâs your next plan?â
âYour dad and I plan to return to the countryside in a couple of days. Benny got into Pyralis University and wonât be going back with us,â Welma said.
Benedict added, âI want to stay in here and find a partâtime job to earn some extra cash. Then, I can help relieve the financial pressure at home.â
Bonnie took out her phone and said, âIâll transfer some money to you guys.â
However, Gerald said solemnly, âBonnie, Iâve told you to keep whatever you earned. Your mom and I donât need our daughter to support us yet. I can still work. Even though I donât earn much from farming and raising pigs, itâs enough for our daily expenses.â
Bonnie had offered to give her parents some money before, but they always refused.
âYeah, weâre not parasites, sis. We know how hard it can be to earn money, and our parents arenât that old. Also, I need to rely on myself to make a living.â Benedict also declined his sisterâs handout.
Bonnie wanted to argue and say that earning money was easy for her. After all, she quickly made so much from scamming Xavier,
âBonnie, put your phone away. Donât bring it up again, okay? You can support us when weâre old and no longer able to move,â Gerald said sternly,
âOkay, Dad.â Bonnie could only obey and say coyly, âAt least let me find you guys a place to stay. If you refuse, it means you donât consider me your daughter.â
âThatâs fine by us.â
Soon after, Bonnie found her parents and brother somewhere decent to stay. She did not book the best hotel in Pyralis and instead chose a midârange one to avoid them complaining that she was wasting money. Even so, her parents still lectured her.
Bonnie asked Benedict, âWhat kind of partâtime job are you looking for?â
Benedict shrugged, saying, âI donât have much work experience. Itâs unlikely I can work at a big company, so I chose a few small ones on a jobâhunting website. Iâm going for a few interviews tomorrow.â
âWhich ones did you choose? Let me see.â
Benedict handed her his phone and said, âHere, these are the ones I picked.â
After looking through the list, Bonnie frowned and said, âThese companies have no future for development. Youâll only be fetching water and printing documents or even cleaning.â
âI know, but I have no other options. Forget not having work experience. Iâm also only looking to work partâtime. Why would any wellâestablished company hire someone like me?â
After some thought, Bonnie said, âDo you want to work at Tang Fusion Studios?â
