Chapter 141
The Understated Dragon Lord
Chapter 141 The Real Blood Jade
âBecause youâre pretty! Youâre attractive and capable, and you handle things swiftly and efficiently!â Danielâs response made Brittany stomp her foot in frustration again.
âJessica, look, heâs bullying me!â
âHeâs just asking you to get a couple of bottles of water. How is that bullying? Youâre
being so dramatic! Just go get it!â
Feeling aggrieved yet without a choice, Brittany huffed and puffed her way to the buffet area and brought back two bottles of water.
âHere you go, country bumpkin. I want to see how youâre going to turn these worthless black charcoals into Blood Jade worth millions. If you canât do it, youâll
learn what cruelty really is!â
Instead of taking the water bottles from Brittany, Daniel instructed her, âJust twist off the caps and pour the water over my hands, thatâll do.â
Brittanyâs eyes widened in disbelief. âYouâre telling me to serve you, a country boy?â
âWeâre colleagues, arenât we? We should help each other out! Hurry up, donât dilly- dally. If youâre not willing, then I guess Iâll have to ask Jessica to do it.â
âJessica, Jessica! Is she your mom or something? You go running to her for every little thing. Are you even a man? All you do is complain to Jessica like a little whiny
cat!â
Despite her grievances, Brittany had no leverage over Daniel. So, reluctantly, she twisted off the bottle caps and did as Daniel had asked. As Daniel rubbed the two pieces of charcoal together under the flowing water, a dark inkâlike dirty water quickly pooled on the ground. When the char washed away, the pieces turned a bright red, resembling two bloody hearts.
Nicholas was dumbfounded. âIs this really Blood Jade? And itâs the highest quality!
The whole piece looks like itâs got fresh blood flowing through it.â
Nicholas delicately accepted the Blood Jade from Daniel, gently caressing the
stones, feeling their quality with his fingertips. The texture of the Blood Jade was as
smooth and silky as a young girlâs skin, extremely slick and moist.
Andrew was stunned. With an incredulous expression, he couldnât believe his eyes. Refusing to accept the reality, he asked Henry, âHenry, is this really Blood Jade?â
Though Henry didnât want to admit it, the truth was staring him in the face, and to deny it would be tantamount to lying especially since he was considered the top appraiser in Florida.
âWell, Andrew, it does look like Blood Jade, and its quality seems quite exceptional as well. However, whether this piece of Blood Jade is worth ten million, that depends. You see, Blood Jade is different from other jade. Once extracted from its raw form, its color will change. I know of a tycoon who paid fifty million for a top- quality Blood Jade but didnât store it properly. In under a decade, all the blood red
color disappeared and turned into a plain white jade. Its value plummeted, and in the end, the tycoon, after all his efforts, sold it off for a mere million. Just like that, he lost
fortyânine million!â
Henry conceded the authenticity of the Blood Jade but added this story with a clear
intent to intimidate Nicholas,
