Chapter One

Photographing Love (BxB) (Unedited)

As he strummed the last note of his song on his guitar Julian Kyle smiled charmingly out at the crowd. He had earplugs in his ears to muffle out some of the screams of his fans.

Julian pulled the microphone off the stand and brought it closer to his lips, "You guys have been the best crowd tonight, thank you so much for letting me play for you!" He could hear the screams grow louder and he let a chuckle fall from his lips.

"I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your night, though it might be all down hill from here," he said as a smirk made its way across his face.

Julian stood up with his guitar strapped to his back and he gave a big grin waving his hand at the crowd. "Thank you Phoenix! Goodnight!"

He walked off stage to his manager talking on his phone. "No you promised to book us till tomorrow evening." Mark sighed angrily and said, "fine but don't expect a good review from us." His manager was tough but fair to him.

"There he is, great show kid." Mark said patting him on the back.

Julian rolled his eyes as he adjusted his guitar strap. "Thanks, but I think could use some work on that last song, I almost messed up the bridge."

Mark waved his hand to dismiss the comment, "oh nonsense, you were perfect."

Julian always got told that, but he was very hard on himself when it came to performances. He wanted everything to go perfectly, so he practiced constantly.

He was deep in thought about where he went wrong in his last song. He could probably speed up the tempo of it to make it go by quicker.

"Julian."

Julian snapped out of his thoughts and looked at his manager who had his arms crossed. "What? I wasn't listening."

Mark rolled his eyes, "I know you weren't." He kept his arms crossed as he said, "You have a date tonight with Layla."

Julian sighed and rolled his eyes as he walked towards his dressing room, Mark following behind him. "Why?"

Mark shut the door and turned to him saying, "look I know you don't like having to pretend with her, but it's better for your image."

Julian just plopped down onto his small couch and rest his arm over the back of it. "I don't get why you want me to keep this up?" "Wouldn't it increase sales if I was just single?" He shook his head letting out a heavy sigh

Julian was gay, he didn't see it as a big deal but everyone else did. He figured out he was gay a couple years ago when he was at an after part for an awards show. He got drunk and ended up flirting and making out with a guy.

Surprisingly when he woke up the next day he remembered it and spent more than six hours questioning his sexuality. Finally thinking about his past girlfriends, he realized why he always broke up with them. He never really felt any attraction towards them. This is what made him realize he was fully attracted to guys.

"Yes, but extra drama, equals more sales," Mark said leaning back against the door staring at Julian. He didn't want to make him do this, but the higher up people made his hands tied in this situation. "Layla know's your arrangement at least, plus you gained a friend out of it right?"

Julian rubbed his hand over his face, feeling tired of the conversation already. "Yeah sure, I guess."

Mark nodded his head and said, "good, glad were on the same page finally."

There was a knock on the door and Mark jumped slightly away from it, turning and opening the door to reveal a boy.

Nova Luthen's has waited for an opportunity like this ever since he left film school. He's had a lot of odd jobs here and there with his photography. Nothing to big.

So when he got the offer to be the photographer for Julian Kyle's new tour he didn't hesitate in taking the job.

Nova walked quickly towards the back stage area, the door being flanked by two big body guards. He tried to push his way through the screaming girls who were trying to convince the guards to let them back stage.

After getting a few glares from girls he finally made it to the front. Nova took his pass from out of his shirt and held it up to show the guards. One leaned forward as if to make sure his pass was legit.

"Okay, you're through," the guards gruff voice said.

Nova slipped past him and behind the door, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath in, and he then let it out. He opened them and looked around. He was supposed to meet Julian's boss Mark.

Nova cleared his throat and grabbed the nearest person's shoulder. "Excuse me, do you know where I can find Mark Sanders?"

The girl just pointed at a door and quickly ran off, carrying some clothes. She must be a stylist.

He just shook his head and walked over to the door, pausing for a second because he heard talking. After there was a pause Nova knocked softly.

The door opened and Mark said, "ah, you must be the new photographer." He shook Nova's hand and ushered him inside the room. "I'm Mark, obviously this is Julian," Mark said gesturing towards Julian.

Julian gave a flirty smile and waved, "hello there." He thought Nova was pretty cute. Julian looked him over. He was short and petite, so it made him really cute to Julian. Nova also had black floppy hair that he seemed to always have to brush out of his eyes, and thick framed glasses perched on the bridge of his nose. The thing that attracted him most to Julian was his bright hazel eyes, with flecks of green in them.

Julian took in what he was wearing as well. A white fuzzy sweater with dark skinny jeans paired with some black converse.

Nova smiled nervously, not knowing how to act around someone with so much fame. "Hi."

Mark rolled his eyes lightly at Julian's flirty smile, "Julian this is your new photographer, Nova."

Julian raised an eyebrow, "isn't that a girls name?"

Nova's eyes dimmed and he mentally sighed. Everyone said that when they heard his name, and it annoyed him. "No actually, it's unisex."

Julian let a soft chuckle fall from his lips at hearing the slight annoyance in the other boys voice. "I'm guessing you get told that a lot huh?," he said leaning back against the couch again.

Nova just nodded his head while Mark looked between them. "Anyways," he said filling the silence. "Your job will require you to travel lots of places, as I'm sure you were told beforehand."

Nova nodded, "yeah, its no problem."

Mark said, "you will basically be taking a lot of behind the scene photos for the fans and also some candid shots for magazines and stuff like that." Mark crossed his arms over his chest, "can you do that?"

Nova nodded and said, "no problem." "I always have my camera on me, so I should never miss a moment," he said patting the medium sized bag he had hung over his shoulder. "It's like a growth attached to my side."

Mark made a face at his analogy but Julian laughed saying, "I think I'm gonna like this guy, but why did Natalie leave?"

Mark looked at him and rolled his eyes, "Julian, she was pregnant and wanted to go raise her baby rather than travel the world."

Julian shrugged his shoulders standing up, "hey, I don't pay attention to everyone on the crew." He walked to the door and stopped turning to the two. "Now, if you both excuse me, I have a date to get ready for," Julian said spitting out the word date. He opened the door and walked out, leaving it open.

"Does he not like his girlfriend or something?," Nova asked looking after him before looking back at Mark.

Mark sighed running a hand through his hair, "something like that."

"So you messed up a little in your bridge, that's nothing to make a big deal about Jule," Layla said eating a bite of her salad.

Julian sighed and said, "I know, I know, Mark told me that. But I want everything perfect."

Layla rolled her eyes playfully tucking her red hair behind her ear. "You're such a perfectionist." She gave him a playfully look saying with sarcasm, "how are we friends again?"

Julian said with just as much sarcasm, "we're dating remember?"

They both really didn't get why they had to do this. Layla was a model and her agent said being with Julian would get her the publicity she needed. Although Layla knew Julian was gay, and it didn't really bother her to play at a relationship with him. Since they first met they became fast friends.

So it made their situation a bit easier for Julian to bare.

For some reason his mind drifted back to thinking about Nova. The guy really did have a cute face. Julian knew nothing would happen even if he wanted it too. He would probably get the poor guy fired by trying something with him.

"Juliann," Layla trailed off, getting his attention back. "What are ya thinking about there?"

Julian shook his head sipping his drink. "Nothing."

Layla raised an eyebrow resting her chin in the palm of her hand, "uh huh, I know you Jule." "You had that faraway look in your eye, is it about your song again?"

He shook his head.

"Is it a boy," Layla gasped.

Julian rolled his eyes and said, "I just think he's cute okay."

"I knew it!," Layla squealed with glee. "So who is he? What's his name?"

"His name is Nova, and he's my new photographer."

"That's a cool name," she said smiling widely. "And its even better that he works with you, you'll get to know him better and things could develop," Layla said wiggling her eyebrows.

Julian laughed and said, "nothing will develop, because i'm supposed to be dating you."

"Well we aren't really dating."

Julian let out a sigh and said, "well to the world we are."
