Lola’s POV

The next morning I woke up late and ran down in panic to see Rose and Jayden being cozy and comfortable on the living. room couch. They both looked up as I rushed into the living. room breathing heavily.

“Wow, wow, calm down Lola. What’s the rush?” Rose laughed as soon as she saw me. I stopped to catch my breath as they both laughed at my expense.

“I thought I was late for training“, I managed to squeeze out in between breaths. Rose looked at Jayden and looked back at me. “I’m so sorry, Lola. I told Jayden to give you a break for today because Lyla told me you’d be hanging out with a group of friends later today. I did not know he did not inform you otherwise“, she said to me apologetically.

“She even came down with her shirt turned inside out“, she said as she glared at Jayden and that was when I realized that I was indeed wearing my shirt inside out. “I did not even realize“, I muttered and they both burst out laughing.

I was about to turn towards the stairs to get changed when Rose stopped me. “Oh, I almost forgot, Lola. I ordered a phone for you to aid communication with Lyla, and now your new friends, since you don’t have access to the mindlink yet. And it came yesterday while we were at the pack house*, she said and I nodded excitedly on the spot I stood on.

“I’ll get it and bring it to your room now. It has my number,

I took a while in the bathroom. I was about to wrap my towel around my b*dy when I noticed that the silver tattoo on my chest was already getting more visible. I did not really pay attention to it and left the bathroom

I was picking my outfit for the day when a shrill sound came from my vanity desk. I was so frightened I crawled under the bed for a while till the sound stopped. After it stopped, I wasn’t sure if whatever the sound was was still in my room so I stayed under the bed, fidgeting.

It wasn’t until I heard a knock filled by Lyla’s voice that I left my hideout. I ran over to the door, opened it quickly and dragged Lyla with me to hide again.

She did not hide under the bed with me and looked at me confused. “Get in here, Lyla“, I whisper–shouted but she looked at me like I had lost it.

“Why? What are we hiding from, Lola?” She whispered back. “A shrill sound came from my vanity table. I don’t know what was but might be back again to attack us.

She stood up, ignoring how I called after her in a hushed voice. and went towards my vanity desk. I crawled out of the bed just enough to watch her every movement.

She got to the vanity table and looked back at me with a smile on her face. I wondered what was funny. “Did you say the sound came from your vanity table?” She asked and I nodded my head vigorously. She laughed lightly before she turned

Soon enough, the shrill sound came on again and I instantly went into hiding, only getting up when I heard Lyla laughing uncontrollably. She became even more hysterical with her laughter when she saw my confused face.

I waited for her to stop laughing before I asked her what happened. “The shrill sound came from the phone, Lola. I was the one who called you initially before Rose let me in“, she said and I felt so embarrassed.

“Oh, I had no idea“, I muttered as I walked towards my closet to pick some clothes. Lola must have noticed my mood. because she came towards me and held my hands.

“I’m sorry if I made you feel embarrassed, I should have been more sensitive“, she pleaded and I nodded. She picked out my outfit which consisted of a black skinny jean, cute, mint green. top and a black sl*p on to go with it. She excused me after picking the outfit and I hurriedly put on my clothes so I won’t keep her waiting.

I met Lyla in the living room talking animatedly with Rose. Those two can talk your ears if care is not taken. I cleared my throat to gain their attention. Lyla was smiling at me when her smile was suddenly replaced by a frown, the frown was directed to someone behind me.

I smelled him before he reached the living room threshold. “We should go, girl. Greg and the rest of the gang can’t wait to see you again“, she said, putting emphasis on Greg.

Bidding farewell to Rose, she pulled me out of the house. Just before the door closed, I saw Adrian’s handsome face contoured with anger and jealousy?
