As I was already late for my first class of the new session, I was almost running and suddenly I felt that I have lost my mobile phone and I stopped mid way while checking my pockets for the missing mobile. Suddenly, I heard a sweet voice which asked me,"Are you looking for this?"I saw my mobile and thanked my new friend by saying,"Yes, ofcourse, I was going crazy by overthinking, are you also a student, I have never seen you before!"She smiled at me and entered my classroom confidently. When I entered the class, she greeted all of us by saying,"Goodmorning students, please sit down. I am your new teacher who will teach you human behaviour and personality development. Let's introduce ourselves, my name is Taara!"I was the first student to introduce myself, I almost replied in a shaky voice,"Goodmorning Mam, I am Palash."She smiled and said to me,"Nice to know your name, Palash. I hope you will not lose something else today as you have already lost and found your phone today!"I was deeply embarrassed because I was called, "Confused" by my friends and my teacher have witnessed my forgetfulness on the day one of our session.I was very angry at myself and was chiding myself for my carelessness when our teacher wrote the first topic on the classboard,"How to address yourself in your mind?"I felt that she was a mind reader, too. She asked me about my way of addressing myself in my mind.I thought for sometime and I suddenly realised that I always criticise my actions and blame my inner self for all my mistakes. I said to her,"Mam, I am always critical of my mistakes and keep on saying mean things to my inner self all the time. I always put the blame on my own self for the fights I have or for the things I forget in my day to day life. Even when I have a bad hair day, I taunt myself before others even notice it."Taara Mam smiled as she addressed the whole class,"Well said, Palash. This is generally true for most of the people. We should try to understand our own selves before understanding others. If we work on our own lives then automatically the lives of our friends and family will be more beautiful by our mere presence around them. Try to give yourself a pat on your back for every good thing instead of expecting it from the whole world. Try to be your own best friend before you claim to be the best friend anybody could ask for in this world!"
