Chapter 41
The Alpha's Addiction [BxB]
:3
Kiss your sanity goodbye
The Omega holds her breath.
It's him? the new Zeta. He's the one I saw in my vision, the one person who'd stop Al. I know Zetas were strong but nothing like this...and there's no proof yet if this guy is actually a werewolf.
But Cyrus managed subdue him, Jessie. We know that's not an easy thing to do---for just ANYBODY even if he is a Zeta, more impossible if he's just a human. Jessie wolf; Rose, was indeed correct.
I know, I just pray Cyrus won't be like Al. That would be a big problem, if they BOTH decide to mistreat everyone. It's bad enough we already gotta deal with one tyrant, we don't need another one.
Jessie's precise aim was on him, her sharpshooter pink irises locked in on Cyrus; observing him. Jessie had her trained long index finger, grazing the trigger of the sniper gun loaded with Wolfsbane tranquillisers. The Omega's original target was The Alpha because Miranda trusted it to her in case, well, something like this happens. And she hoped never to use it---but she has to.
Jessie was about to shoot Al to get him to stop beating everyone up. Though when Cyrus bravely interfered, The Omega held back pulling the trigger.
Cyrus seemed genuinely nice to me the last time we talked, but I can't be too comfortable. Because he's lying about who he is, that classified file I saw in my vision was definitely about himself.
Jessie got up from her position, trying to tap mind link with Ernie for help yet she's blocked. Don't tell me Pater is distracting him again? Jessie makes a run for it to find her adoptive father, because people are going to need him.
------------------------
Al outstretched his muscular arms.
"WANNA BE ALPHA!? THEN BEAT ME AT THIS YEAR'S TOURNAMENT FINALS! AND THE POSITION ALONG WITH EVERYTHING I STAND FOR IS FUCKING ALL YOURS! TAKE IT! I CHALLENGE ANYONE WHO TRIES!"
The Alpha had everyone shocked.
Including Shane, who didn't make it in time to stop the fight and was out of breath running all the way to their gymnasium.
The Younger Alpha held himself up in the doorway panting, he couldn't even believe what he heard. Al had done something no one in the Nightwalker family history has ever committed before, usually it's the other way around with werewolves challenging the Alphas. But Al just declared to challenge anyone to take his title for the position of heir, to become the new successor; Head Alpha.
"A-Al...why would you do this?" Shane whispers to himself as scared students made room for the walking time-bomb who ignored everyone and just left.
He didn't even spear to look at Shane, as Al goes pass him coated in injuries and bruises from the fight. The Younger Alpha wanted to go after his brother, but the depression in Al's once bright amber orbs seem too distant even for Shane to get his older brother back. It upsets him, that he miserably fails to help Al and he knows why The Alpha offered the position to anyone who tires, anyone but himself. Al doesn't want him to become the Head Alpha.
He thinks Shane is weak.
Maylin and Emmett go over to Cyrus who was still standing there, his dark eyes trailing after where Al exited. He was greeted with admiration and people were talking about him, how awesome and badass he was, going up against the renowned Alpha that they haven't seen anybody as courageous as himself to stand up to Al. Cyrus didn't answer to anyone, because this wasn't something he himself found to be proud of. No, it was actually the other way. Cyrus was so disappointed with himself for fighting Al, who was clearly going through some personal problems.
Cyrus saw through him; saw his pain.
Despite what all the students saw Al had caused in here and hurt people.
His sad eyes told a different story.
Though Cyrus had to stop him hurting others and it was hard to just watch.
Now he couldn't get Al out of his head.
Shane then came into the crowd as he sees just how much chaos his brother abandoned at his wake, Shane shouts in worry. "Every sector officer in this room help me get the injured ones to the clinic! The rest please make way!"
Cyrus wanted to leave everything to Maylin, Emmett and Shane though he knows he's a sector officer himself and even if it was hard especially with his left arm still throbbing from Al's full punch. Cyrus aided the other officers there by checking people and body counting in the gymnasium. It looks like Nurse Nick has his work cut out for him today, with this many beat up students.
"EMMY!? Where are ya!?"
The Delta pushed his way and lands his sights at all the human students on the ground, Emmett was asking how many fingers he held up to an injured boy. He looks at Chase with glazed baby blue eyes, it was obvious The Human boy was trying to keep it together. "Chase! We need help! there's t-too many injured---my sector, I don't know---who should I attend to first."
Chase grabbed his hands, Dagger felt the zap of electricity. Mate! I knew it, it's Emmett.
"Breath fast ya can do this, tell me what ya need, Prescott." Emmett did as told to focus. "I need you...to check broken bones and bleeding, we also need more man power here Chase."
The Delta nodded looking serious.
Chase stuck his two fingers in his mouth creating a loud whistle sound, immediately his entire Delta sector comes flooding in the room. Rainier enters with his Beta sector too along Jessie's, Ernie and Nurse Nick. (Not gonna lie, that move to support and calm down Emmett was sexy of him.)
-----------------------
"You shouldn't have gotten your left arm involved. What if that hit snapped a nerve? You might never use it again." Nurse Nick scolded to Cyrus, who sat at a chair as he's left arm was examined.
Cyrus huffed out and just wanted to leave the school's clinic, he asked the nurse for an extra first aid kit though when the man glanced at his left arm Nurse Nick insisted to have it checked. Cyrus agreed though only for Nurse Nick to look at his arm and not unwrap the bandages. He nods to that, being careful not to touch him because of last time. Cyrus stared around the room while the nurse took out the extra kit and seeing no sign of the blonde boy, he typed in his phone for Nurse Nick to see. He pushed up his glasses to read.
"Has Al been treated? He was the most who was covered in wounds." Nurse Nick shook his head. "No. Haven't seen him and he barely ever goes in here unless his injuries are fatal and need medicine kid. Why?" Cyrus shrugged.
After getting his sling back on, Cyrus picks up the first aid kit with his right hand then he walks to their cafeteria.
He types in his phone asking politely for two dinner meals from the kitchen staff. Maylin and Emmett see him and offers to carry the two meals to his room, which Cyrus nodded and types "Thank you." for their friendly help.
He had to push away two people now, though Cyrus was feeling lazy to do that to his two friends. That, and he was growing fond of their pleasant lively company during breaks and studying.
He shows them. "Alright, just leave it here and thanks again guys. Sorry for the trouble." Emmett shakes his head. "It's fine, that's what friends do right? And we know you needed the hand."
Maylin smiles adding. "Yeah, you also helped us back at the gymnasium. We appreciate it, we better go back to the clinic. You go get some rest, Mr. Hero."
Cyrus slowly nods and thought.
Is this what it feels like? To have friends.
Helping each other and bonding?
Having each others backs?
Cyrus hopes, the day would come, when he doesn't have to lie to everyone around him.
----------------------
Placing the kit on his desk and the two meals beside it Al wasn't inside their dormitory room, Cyrus knocked at the bathroom; vacant. The balcony was also empty, which means he's outside god knows where to blow off steam.
If I'm going to stay longer with him, I need to lay down some serious talk. If Al can't accept my condition; I'm out.
Sighing, Cyrus sat down on the couch that was near the doorway and waited for him.
Hours later, Al had shifted back to his human form after taking off into the forest to run a little, pulling himself in order, though The Alpha doesn't regret his declaration to challenge anyone to take his position. It's overbearing him at the point where Al just didn't care who becomes the heir to Head Alpha, his parents and auntie would grill him up once they hear all about this, today has been too exhausting Al just wants sleep.
He's physically and emotionally done.
Opening their door Cyrus should be sleeping in bed, because Al has been so busy with classes and Alpha sector rank officer duties in the day, while he juggles running Northwood and jam packed meetings. Every time Al comes back here, he's too tried and sleepy to get closer to his Rocky who is sleeping. Al didn't want to try doing anything after treating Cyrus's arm weeks ago, because it could harm him and Cyrus would dislike him further.
And the promise he broke.
Shit! Al slaps his forehead, recalling how he punched Cyrus's hand earlier. My promise!
"Whmmm..."
An audible soft whimper surprised The Alpha, as his warm amber eyes landed on someone slouching over the couch; asleep.
What in the name of moons...?
Al tip toes to approach the passed out Cyrus so as to not wake the boy, who's sitting uncomfortably on the couch. He quickly squatted in front of Cyrus, titling his head sideways and brought his hand onto his mouth in confusion.
What's Cyrus doing here on the couch?
Al's thick eyebrows pinched.
Was he...no way, was he waiting for me?
Seems like it, look over to his desk Al. Grim mutters, Al was still pissed off with his wolf though his curiosity won him as he looked.
On Cyrus's desk was a first aid kit and two packed meals, Al glances back to his Fluffy who's eyebrows furrowed in his slumber.
Al slightly got worried.
Is Cyrus having a nightmare? Should I wake him up? What if he gets angry I touched him without his permission?
Well for gods sake do SOMETHING!
He clumsily starts to hum a tune for Cyrus, to calm him down. Al noticed both his ears are wiggling adorably to the noise and The Alpha couldn't help but chuckle in delight which Cyrus heard, his eyes shot up alert.
Smack!
"Ow fuck!" Al groaned feeling the side of his face in pain, Cyrus was startled awake. (Never sneak up on people with PTSD, duh)
The Alpha stumbled backwards and Cyrus searched his surroundings for any of his tormentors, yet when he saw Al moaning from ache on the ground Cyrus ran over to his desk and snatched the first aid kit up.
He rushed. "Sorry! I didn't mean to!"
Al's bright eyes widens hearing how cute and submissive Cyrus's tone was towards him, it was a like...a voice of an angel.
He pushed himself to sit up and stare at the raven haired boy. "What's that? I didn't quite heard you precisely." Al lied, just yearning to hear his mate's vocals again, pairing to his flowery medow scent delving for The Alpha.
Sure his scent was inviting, but Al just can't get enough of Cyrus's deep majestic voice. He shyly averted his dark deleting onyx gaze away from Al's glorious amber ones.
Gago ka, you heard me. Cyrus thinks.
(Silent yet sassy, that's my baby boy!)
Not answering, Cyrus began taking out things to bandage up Al's several wounds, Al was testing his lucky stars tonight and crossed his biceps arms together, smirking at Cyrus as strands of Al's golden curly locks got in his eyes.
The Alpha arches a brow. "What do you plan to do with that? Huh? I didn't say I needed anything from you." Al retorts.
Cyrus sighed. Be kind, even if HE isn't.
The black haired boy slowly glanced up; scaring Al for life and even in the afterlife. With his big innocent, dark pupils that put a bewitching spell to The Alpha's heart.
Grim's golden eyes narrowed at the display. No no no, you can't do that! Stop being cute all of the sudden! I'm not gonna fall for this!
But neither of them didn't see this coming.
Cyrus reached out to caress Al's cheek gently, the same one he had punched.
"You're hurt; I wanna help." Al stilled, both astonished and wowed at how this boy was gonna be the death of him. Surprisingly, this made Grim's bushy tail wag around.
Suddenly the boy got extremely close. So much so, that his minty breath was fanning over Al's goosebumps flesh.
"Attention on me and you listen good now."
The Alpha shakes his head positively.
Like a very trained good boy.
Cyrus stares at him with conviction.
"Do you realize what you've done? Al, I don't know what to think of you. But I know what you did earlier is wrong and you've got some mental issues. I can't judge you for that, because I've got many of my own." Cyrus narrows his dark gaze at him. "I wanted to transfer dorm rooms because of what I found."
He brings out some of the drugs.
"This stuff makes me uncomfortable, I know what it is, so don't you even try to serve me an excuse. Either you get rid of these drugs or I'm reporting it."
He runs his hand at Al's shirt collar as Cyrus pulls him forward, he growled. "Al, I've seen too many people throw their lives away for this shit. Don't be one of them, please." His grip loosens and Cyrus plants his head down at Al's firm chest, it felt rather spontaneous.
Ba-dump!
Ba-dump!
Ba-dump!
He could hear his rapid heartbeats.
"I thought you were just some spoiled rich jerk, at first and still do. But then you go on being friendly with me, if you could be nice to me. Why couldn't you be to others? I'll admit, I...don't know you very much, hell at all." He nuzzled in the blonde boy's warmth; feeling comfortable.
"I might not wholly understand your problems and depression. Yet I think, if you're alright with it." Cyrus tugs a little at Al's shirt. "We can talk it over, it's scary to trust in people and this is a lot coming from somebody like me; a certified cynic. I don't like opening up to anyone, though if it's to help you, then I think it'll do more good than bad."
The black haired boy was somewhat feeling guilty he's saying these things, when Cyrus in return can't tell Al who he really is, or ever. It was part of the contract, that witnesses were to hide their true identity from everyone, no exceptions. Living a lie everyday, for his own protection. He's been in the WITSEC program for years now and he has grown used to his assigned name.
Cyrus.
Elyos, his real identity, was determined classified information by the authorities, too. In case, whoever left him to die all those years ago and tries searching for Elyos again won't find him easily. Only the government with Chief Prescott have copies of his file and Cyrus's actual given name, the court locked it up recently now.
He said. "It's okay, if you don't want to trust me. All I ask is don't throw your life away."
Al's irises were illuminating golden but the smaller boy couldn't see them.
"Okay, I'm sorry for...everything. I'll get rid of the drugs and I'll try my best." Al goes to stroke Cyrus's dark locks. For you, I'll try.
Grim whispered. Stop making me fall in love with you, I don't deserve love.
