Chapter 958

Spoiled by the President

Nell turned to the driver who followed Lizzy in and asked, "What happened on the road?"

The driver hung his head, looking a little guilty.

"Not on the way. Just now when we came in, we met Madam Leith."

Nell frowned.

Jean Leith?

The driver looked up at her, and quickly added. "Madam said something to the Young Lady."

Nell paled and thought of what Lizzy had just said. How could she not know what Jean had said to her?

She said quietly, "Alright, you may leave."

After the driver left, Nell went to Lizzy's room.

In the room, Lizzy was sitting on the bed, sulking.

When she saw Nell come in, she ignored her and even turned her back to her.

Nell looked at her little head and smiled helplessly.

"Tsk, what's wrong with our Lizzy? Who had the nerve to make her angry?"

Nell smiled and sat down, then turned her small shoulders and asked softly.

Lizzy twisted and broke away from her hand and said angrily, "No one! I'm not angry."

Nell could not help but laugh.

"Not angry? Then who was yelling and screaming at me just now?"

Lizzy pursed her lips and felt somewhat aggrieved.

Nell sighed.

"Lizzy, what did Mommy used to tell you? No matter how angry you get, you can't ignore people, so if you're unhappy, just say so. Problems can only be solved if you talk about them, right?”

Lizzy hesitated for a moment.

After a while, she turned her head awkwardly to look at Nell.

Nell asked seriously, "Tell Mommy, what's going on?"

Lizzy's eyes were red and her little mouth was pouting as if she was exasperated.

"Mommy, is it true that Grandaunty said you wouldn't love me if I had a little sister and would send me to Great-grandma for her?"

Nell was stunned.

She only thought that Jean might say something bad to Lizzy to make her angry, but she had never thought she would say this.

Nell's heart sank.

"Then do you think what Grandaunty said is true?"

Lizzy was startled and her little face was blank.

Nell continued to guide her.

"Just according to your true feelings, if Mommy gave birth to a baby sister, would Mommy really not love you and abandon you?"

Lizzy seemed to be stunned by the question and did not speak for a long time.

Nell rubbed her head and said, "Think carefully and tell me when you're done."

After a while, Lizzy finally spoke in a soft voice.

"No."

"Then why do you still believe what she says?"

"I..."

Lizzy was momentarily speechless. She looked at Nell and pressed her lips together in aggravation.

"I'm just scared, Mommy. I don't want to leave you."

She said and suddenly cried out loud and threw herself into Nell’s arms.

Nell's heart melted and her eyes turned red all of a sudden.

She hugged Lizzy and stroked her back without speaking, just letting her cry.

It took a long time before Lizzy stopped crying and looked up at her.

Nell gently wiped away her tears and said, "Lizzy, you’re Mommy's little baby, just like your brother and sister. Mommy loves them and loves you. The reason why I’m letting you stay with your great-grandparents for a few months is that Mommy’s too tired to take care of you three. Your brother’s too naughty and will make a lot of noise for Great-grandma, so she let you go. If you don't want to go, you don’t have to! But you have to be good from now on and not be naughty and not let Mommy worry too much, okay?"

Lizzy nodded her head and hugged Nell’s waist tightly again.

"I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay with Mommy."

Nell could not help but smile and softly said, "Good. Lizzy isn't going anywhere. Lizzy will stay by my side."

The mother-daughter pair talked for a while before Nell managed to calm Lizzy down.

After crying for a long time, Lizzy was tired, so Nell coaxed her to take a nap and waited until she fell asleep before exiting the room.

When she came out of the room, she closed the door softly and saw Aunt Joyce standing not far away looking worried.

"Madam, is the Young Lady all right?"

Nell shook her head and pointed outside, indicating to go out first.

When they returned to the living room, Nell sat down on the sofa and drank a cup of tea before she said, "It was Aunty who told her that I wouldn't want her now that I was pregnant with a baby, and that I was trying to abandon her by letting her live with her great-grandmother."

Aunt Joyce's eyes widened in shock.

"How can she say that? Everyone else wants a harmonious family, but she even wants to sow discord?"

Nell laughed sarcastically.

Aunt Joyce said, "I don't care whether others believe this, I don't believe it anyway. Not to mention how you’ve been treating Miss Lizzy at home for the past few years. I've seen it all and it’s definitely real, there are no second thoughts at all."

Nell said in a soft voice, "Lizzy never had a biological mother since her childhood. She’s a poor child, so in this regard, she’ll be more sensitive and careful than other children. I can ignore all the wrong things Aunty did over the years, but she should never instigate Lizzy, using the child to achieve her own goals."

At this point, Nell was also a bit annoyed.

Aunt Joyce agreed and said, "Yes, Madam Leith had gone too far this time."

Nell thought about it and sighed.

"Okay, let's talk about this later. I'm tired, so I'll go back to my room and rest first."

Aunt Joyce nodded and only then did she help her back to her room.

In the evening, when Gideon came back, Nell told him about this matter.

She did not blame anyone but whether it was what Jean said to Lizzy or whether it was the fact that Jean asked to borrow 100 million from her, all of this had to be made known to Gideon.

After he heard this, he was furious.

He directly said, "We’re not lending her anything!"

Nell smiled and said, "There’s no need to decline so quickly. Although I’m annoyed that she fed Lizzy nonsense, if she’s doing business this time, there’s no harm in giving her the money."

Gideon coldly said, "What kind of business can she do? It's nothing more than gambling."

Nell shook her head and said, "Not necessarily."

Gideon pondered for a while, but in the end, he agreed.

"Then you should see to it. If it's really something proper, give it to her."

After a pause, he added. "Let her see our children less often in the future, lest she teach them nonsense."

Only then did Gideon go to the bathroom.

By dinnertime, Lizzy's mood was much better. She knew that she had been lied to by her grandaunt, so she was not angry anymore and even felt a little embarrassed.

Nell pretended not to notice it and the dinner was still as pleasant as usual.

Lizzy put a piece of ribs in Nell’s bowl and said with a smile, "Mommy, eat this."
